Very pleasant staff, clean and comfortable rooms, good food and coffee at the restaurant. Fairly priced. In the center of the town, next to the main sites of the city, that being the MIG and money market.

Had the pleasure of staying here for two nights. Paid a few $$$ more for the bigger VIP room. This is the best hotel in Hargeisa. They facilitated my visa and trip to Las Geel/Berbera for significantly less money than the Ambassador and also had ac in the room. Security was top notch - right by the MiG monument. Water pressure in the shower, while not the greatest ever, was fine and hot water was abundant. Only adventure is the restaurant where I ordered one kind of fish twice and got a different thing each time (English isn’t The waitstaff’s strong suit but it happens - fish was very nice though ditto the French fries)

The hotel is unusual in that it is located in the top floors of an office/shop block. Therefore, there are no grounds and a very small entrance at street level. Not sure if any taxis are available given its location. Inside, the hotel is of a fairly good standard, decor wise, and is quite modern. My room was enormous; almost to big, if I am honest, as there were large open spaces that we just not being used. The room was divided into two by a partitioning wall, that extended out about halfway across the room, and separated the bed area from the lounge area, where there was a desk, three piece suite and coffee table. However, there were bad points: The shower was very weak and the water cold. The TV was fixed to the wall and badly positioned so that you could not view it from the seating area or the bed. But, it did not matter as virtually every channel (almost 100 of them) was in Arabic. There was only one free wall socket into which you could plug something, and this was badly positioned in a corner. I had to unplug the mini bar in order to plug in my laptop at the desk. There was no plug near the bed which I could use to charge my phone overnight, whilst using it as an alarm clock for the morning. So, I had to charge it way across the room, and just hoped that i would hear the alarm in the morning. Thea/c only worked intermittently. It seemed to run on a cycle whereby it would be on for a few minutes and then switch itself off again. The staff were unable to put it on constant, so the room was always hot.

This is the best hotel in Somaliland, hands down. Rooms are clean, hot water, AC, great wifi. The staff is very helpful and can organize your tours in the country for you. Great for couples or solo travelers. Friends will have to each get their own room, according to local policy in Somaliland.

This hotel is situated in the upper floors of a commercial office and shop building in the very centre of Hargeisa. Staff friendly and helpful. Restaurant/café adequate for a couple of days. Good views of the small city centre. Felt safe too.
