Our stay at Forest Lodge was a great first welcome to Seychelles. Stephen picked us up from the airport on arrival and drove us to the ferry on departure and was the most accommodating host. We are vegans and he helped provide options and arranged for a vegan meal at a nearby restaurant. Stephen and I share an interest and career in water supply and he explained to me Seychelles water supply system. The staff was very nice and catered to our needs and requests. Every morning we would have breakfast from our balcony and watch the bats and birds in this forest setting. The lodge is a nice walk to Beau Vallon Beach, and there is a nearby bus stop which take you to Victoria. We started our scuba certification in Mahe and there are a couple of dive schools nearby which will pick you up from here. We also hiked to the beautiful Anse Major beach. The day we did, though the current was very strong. I had lost my snorkeling fin and my husband, his wallet. Luckily the ocean returned these items to the shore. Stephen drove us back to retrieve my fin which was found later that day, and he messaged me a few days later when we had moved on to Praslin to let me know my husband's wallet was also found and he met us at the ferry a week later on our way back to return it to us! It was a great stay and great start to our Seychelles' adventure.

We booked a stay at Forest Lodge to celebrate a 70th birthday. A lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. However although we booked 2 of the best rooms in the hotel @ £187.00 per night bed and breakfast the room was dirty and the leather suite had long tears in it, we were told this had been done by a dog staying in the room before us. The extractor over the bath poured dirty water when the occupants of the room above bathed or showered. the chap came the next morning to repair the leak, however he said he was a retired printer and didn't know anything about plumbing he only did general maintenance for the hotel, we had to make arrangement with the occupants of the room to have a shower before they did. The last morning we went to breakfast to find the waitress serving who enjoyed talking more than serving, there was no fresh fruit, no bread left & no bacon sausage or beans. We left without breakfast. The manager Charlotte Barrington took us into the lounge, she was great, some problems she already had knowledge of, listened & looked at photos of the problem & promised to refund all accommodation charges. We thought wow a woman who is determined to make a success of the job and get the hotel back on its feet. WRONG.....she went back on her word, first sent an email offering us another visit and after refusal offered a partial refund. Its the fact that she lied to get rid of us which makes this worse. Sorry CHARLOTTE BARRINGTON but you have let all us women down badly.

We have stayed at forest lodge with Stephen and Anya several times, and choosing forest lodge as our accommodation for our family for our special trip was an obvious one. Stephen and Anya always make us feel so at home, and take time to do all the little things that make our visits memorable. We can’t wait to return.

We have been to many B&B around the world, and a few in Seychelles, this to say that it was a great experience at Forest Lodge. It is well maintained, on the side of the crowded areas, actually easier if you have a car than walking but Stephen can arrange many things for you (car rental, airport/boat pick-up, laundry, etc). Always very helpful with this clean and tidy place. Just just need to be willing to be a bit off the beach and beaten track. You will be next to the forest and a few minutes from the beach. Wonderful experience for us!

The lodge is small, with just 4 or 5 rooms. It is very clean throughout. My room was spacious, with double bed, two armchairs, a desk and chair and still plenty of room for suitcases. There was a small balcony. The kitchen area included microwave, a 2-ring stove, sink, plus cutlery, crockery and a few utensils - ok for a simple meal but not much more. The bathroom was clean and spacious. The lodge’s big drawback is its location: it is some way up a hill, about 1/2km back from the main road. It is a long and exhausting walk back, particularly in the heat and humidity! The owner, Stephen, was very helpful and speaks good English. He helped with car rental, directions, dinner bookings, etc. He does provide a continental breakfast but I did not use it, nor see others do so.
