First of all - it's our first visit to Cabo Verde, as we just wanted to try something new over some Greek's island or Egypt. We decided from beginning to take one week, so at the end room size or location were not priorities (well, I took something called superior bungalow, as normal seemed really small). Starting from beginning: 1. check in - pretty fast, no issues, theoretically we should wait for somebody to take baggage, but managed to do ourselves. 2. room - as a superior bungalow I would expect something bigger, but it was clean and looks ok (we're not using normally air-conditioning, because it's difficult to asses when it was cleaned) 3. food - here I would say one of the strongest positions. During stay you can try 3 different a'la carte restaurants and also main one is really ok. It' normal that breakfasts are repetitive (really - we spent time in many hotels and it's common that breakfasts are usually similar), so I cannot understand some people claiming that food is boring... 4. water - well, there are some pools, but who cares about pool when you have ocean just nearby. Time to time big waves, but walks along the beach are really nice 5. sight-seeing - in fact you can spend one day on organized trip and see everything what is worthy (Buracona - blue-eye, Salina Pedra de Lume, Espargos, Santa Maria, shark bay, beach with turtles - but in July), additionally you can find a lot of other attractions - zipline, diving, etc. Amount of options should be able to fill in even 2 weeks stay. 6. service - really great, people are very open, helpful with a smile and completely different in positive way versus what you can find from service in Egypt. If everything sounds so nice, so why not "excellent" rating? Well, it's just related to nice cockroaches (title 6 legged addition) in the room and resort. Ok it could happen, but after intervention with information and photo of nice bug from the room, service used some tough chemistry, so we were not able to spend time in the room, finally after next intervention they offered us a room to spend a night. Apart of that incident and finding more oft hat "nice" bugs around the resort, grade would be one point better.…
Good food. Nice pools. Good beach access with a lot of sunbeds. Close to the city. Convenient and cosy rooms. Fine shows every evening. And thev prices are reasonable. Good service. Worth recommedation for couples and families.
Hotel area in general is bit worn, but works well for a budget holiday. Location near the beach and Santa Maria is excellent. The beach was one the best I've seen. Pool areas are good for sunbathing and quite large, but pool water was notably colder than in ocean. The staff was very friendly and the service was also good. Buffet was a positive surprise. The selection is mostly same every day, but there's quite plenty to choose from. Food was better than I expected from an all-inclusive at this cost and 3 a la carte dinners offered some variation. In buffet the plates and glasses were often all out, and you had to wait couple minutes for staff to bring more. The drink selection included in all-inclusive was also a positive surprise, including soft drinks, local beer, wines and cocktails. Water bottles were free, which is great, since the local tap water isn't drinkable. Drinks were mostly served in small 2dl glasses or in disposable plastic cups (not very environmentally friendly, perhaps consider using washable plastic cups?). Rooms were ok and cleaned daily. Bathroom floors seemed to be laminated (not waterproof!) instead of tiled, so beware of mold! The first bungalow we got, had a very strong smell of mold, but we were moved to a better room after complaining about it. The central restaurant plays almost every night loud music until late at night, and it can be disturbing if you live in the closest bungalows. The rooms in main buiding were very quiet and also seemed newer. In general, our one week stay in this hotel was a positive experience and I would consider visiting here again. Without the mold problem, I would give it 4/5.…
We have been there 2x. Everything was good. I hate any restrictions. Do not worry to be happy you will find a way to be free. Food was one the best I have had in my life. Maybe drinks are too cold in winter. Bottles of water are for free. The beach is beautiful but many of the loungers are out of life. Dogs are lovely. Nobody bothered us. People are friendly. I like to be there again.
We are so grateful after spending 2 weeks holiday during Christmas and New Years at this wonderful place! Love it all! +Lovely friendly staff and warm hearted people all around the island. +Super crisping, clear and turquios blue ocean and white clean beaches. Sunbeds included. Loved all the friendly dogs at the beach. Stunning sunsets. Heaven! Only minus is that the the beach bar closed too early and no food or snacks was served there. + Clean pool areas with sunbeds included. + Wonderful food and drinks. Very nice coffe in the bars. Fresh seafood every day and huge sallad bar. If just some more spices and flavoured food, some zero sugar drinks and more romantic at dinner time with som candles etc, it would be totally perfect. + Wonderful bungalow close to the beach and surrounded by palm trees and flowers. Small, but suited our needs. Good aircondion. Ok beds. Good cleaning. + New Years Eve party was amazing. wonderful live band, stunning food with huge lobsters, scampi etc. Beautiful set tables around the pool. Top 10! + The dance shows performed by animation almost every night was very professional. We loved to watch Mama Africa etc. We listen to the music they played every day since we got back home. + Almost all staff was very friendly and helped us with a smile. Need to point out some staff that stod out especially though: *We always looked forward to having lunch at Santa Maria restaurant because there Fernando waited with his wonderful personality. He is a very warm hearted person. He made a huge impact on our holiday. We miss you! *Kery in the bar by Santa Maria always with a smile made wonderful Café Latte. One day when he had some time over, he even made Sangria for me, even if it was not the drink of the day. It made my day :) * and last, but not least. Quiara Lopez at Guest relation. Your service and support, even prior our visit to Cape Verde is outstanding. Thank you for everything you did for us. Your prompt reply to emails and service provided is truely appreciated. Thank you all wonderful staff for making this holiday one of the best in a very long time. We want to wish you all the best and can't wait to come back soon to your paradise island. We will definately return!…
Bungalow where we lived long time ago not renovated. Many interior details are broken and worn. We didn’t like the food in the restaurants very much. The evening program is horrible. The rooms are serviced daily, but the doors, walls, and other items are not cleaned for several years. Part of the beach loungers are broken. Gym of the last century. Entrance to the gym from the street, no shower, equipment rusty.
great time with many activities. Good hotel, nice service, perfect weather. The biggest plus are the animation team for fitness excercices, dance lessons, foodbal and voleyball (on the beach and on the swimmingpool). We loved them: Adilson, Alex, Lucy and Kevin. Thank you for nice 2 weeks on the island.
I don´t know where to start, to be honest...Professional and kind staff. Excellent location near the town center and minutes from the beach with beautiful sand and azure coloured water, with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. Clean and cute bungalows with comfortable beds, lot of greenery (palms, grass). No technical problems, three pools with clear and clean water. Souvenir shops with acceptable price. Thanks to the large area, there is peace despite the large number of guests. Varied menu of food and drinks (both soft and alcoholic) through all day, with friendly cats and sparrows waiting for their crumbs. I think I discovered the diamond in the sand. Minor faults list: strange numbering system of bungalows (first days were about the searching for my room :D), technical staff doesn´t speak English, but they´re trying to communicate despite... This hotel is a place where I will return!!! I absolutely recommend. …
the best place I visited 😊 big hotel with 3 pools and a bar inside, animation programs great i We tried it😁😁food throughout the day, alcoholic and soft drinks as well.In addition, you can choose from 3 other dinners, their local cuisine, Italian cuisine and seafood.
This has been said in previous reviews, but I have to repeat it once again – people in this resort are just awesome! Staff is very kind, helpful, outgoing and always with a smile (even during this heat wearing mask). Awesome people! That being said, there are many issues with Oasis Atlantico Belorizonte and I will try to be as fair as possible in my review. Location – it is an “ok” location, close to Santa Marias promenade, you have a shop close by, but I refuse to see this as a beach resort. Of course, ocean is very close, but you need to cross whole facility, path, huge beach area to get to hotels extent with beach restaurant and sun loungers. It was not a problem for us, it is a 5-7min walk, you will find security guards allover at daytime as well as nighttime, but still… not direct at the sea. From sea view rooms you will basically see the path to the beach. Facility - Oasis Atlantico is a huge resort, very crowded, with 3 swimming pools, 4 restaurants and it can hold up to 1 thousand tourists (is anyway the information given from the staff). It is nice all around, for my taste overcrowded though. We have booked superior bungalow and it was very average, clean room, nonetheless very far from reception or main restaurant. There was no hot water, no wi-fi, no kettle, with walls that thin that you could hear your neighbors breathing… After a raining evening our room was flooded. They gave us a new room, none superior bungalow, which was way better than the previous one. Wi-fi was available from time to time, we received a kettle. There have been still issues with cold water only, but they fixed that in 2 days. In general “ok”, but still a lot of problems for 1 week stay, there was always something not right. On top of that hotel night ends at 10 a.m. what was very annoying as most of the flights are at evenings and tourists are basically forced to pay for at least half day in the resort. Food – the horror! The food in the main restaurant for all-inclusive guests was just bad, borderline disgusting. We were amazed how bad some simple dishes were, honestly. I never knew you could screw up boiled rice or French fries. There was this stand where a cook prepared fresh meet and fish for guests, fish was always raw (even though I asked explicit every time to cook it right), meat was always tough or dry as hell. Horrible. Fruits were continuously either unripe, unfrozen or just stale. Sweets and deserts were bearable, although everything gelatin based and for us: tasteless. A different story was this Italian restaurant where you can get 1 dinner in all-inclusive package or pay 20 euro/person. Food was very nice, fresh and tasty. The second one where you will receive an invitation was a tasting menu, very good and innovative. Last one at the beach was a restaurant with grilled fish, unfortunately same old story again, fish raw, bony, tasteless and the staff here somehow very annoyed and nervous. I found that ironic, that on an island like Sal, an island full of fish, sea food and fresh fruits, you won’t get any sea food, any good fish or exotic fruit. Those seemed to be luxury products for no reason. Drinks - again, big disappointment. You have only the cheapest version of beverages, local “cola”, local “fanta” and local alcohol based drinks, which are disgusting. We tried several times a mixed drink, but the alcohol was just intolerable and even after one drink we felt really sick. I wasn’t expecting the best vodka or rum in the world, but at least something… average [?] We drank only beer and occasionally white wine, but most of the time water. On top of that you will get you beverage in a small ca.150ml plastic cup so if you thirsty… be prepared for a long line and running around with more than 1 drink. I have asked many times for a bigger plastic cup, but there are none in a whole resort, only small 150ml cups for drinks. It is beyond me, why are they saving on the cheapest beverages. Sad. For what is worth cold still water was available in 1l bottles all the time. Entertainment – I am guessing entertainment at evening was ok, but definitely targeted at the Portuguese speaking tourists, what was a bummer. In my (subjective) opinion majority of the guest were Poles and Czechs, nonetheless karaoke or dance evenings only for Portuguese. Summary – our experience was not that good. Sure, you can enjoy great weather, nice people and stunning beach, but there was just too many issues to fully relax and feel like on all-in holiday. After view days we realized there was no need for booking all-inclusive vacation here, when you have to buy your own drinks, alcohol or food.…
