Away for a short sunny break. Very nice resort, several restaurants and bars, pools lovely but very busy - not enough sun beds but plenty at the beach. Very clean everywhere. Food plentiful and varied however we were concerned regarding staff hygiene, handling food with no gloves especially as we had received info from UK Government re Shigella outbreak. Staff generally good although Receptionist (female) was rude and unwelcoming on arrival. Nevertheless we had a pleasant holiday and can tick Cape Verde off our list.
Just got back from staying at this hotel. I absolutely loved it. Cannot fault anything.. Room was spotless with plenty of space.. food so much variety. Pools were perfect especially with the pool bar.. Everywhere was kept clean in the hotel.. Entertainment team were amazing . Their dancing was fantastic.. Lovely and friendly. Staff was very good. The party nights neon and white were outstanding. Best night ever. I could of stayed another week!! Didn't want to go. Went on trip around the island such a beautiful place. Will certainly be back.
Third visit to this hotel. Our last visit was March 2020 and since then the hotel has definitely been down graded. Consequently the little extras have been removed, no cava, no branded drinks, no automatic waiter service, no automatic snacks. The rooms are still spotless and a good selection of food still available. Lots of flies especially in the Santa Maria restaurant. Would we go to the islands of Cape Verde again? Yes brilliant place for some winter sun. Would we go to this hotel again? Not necessarily this would very much depend on price.
Great hotel but not as good as previous visits. Ordered drinks but they kept getting them wrong. Mini bar not topped up. Staff excellent but definitely overworked and most under trained . Shame because it's great place to stay. Short staffed at pool bar sometimes only one serving with a queues of 16 waiting. Please management don't let this go as in previous visits no problems
GOOD POINTS OF THE HOTEL ARE THE SURROUNDING, THE FOOD IS JUST AVERAGE THE ROOMS ARE VERY TIRED AND IN NEED OF A SPRUCE UP. THE DINING AGAIN IS TIRED WITH DIRTY WALLS AND WALLPAPER COMING OFF, COMPLAINED ( 6 ) TIMES DURING 21 DAY STAY AS NO WORKING TELEVISION IN ROOM THIS WAS REGISTERED WITH TUI REP ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, SPOKE TO SERGIO THE DUTY MANAGER WHO MANAGED TO GET IT WORKING FOR THE LAST 3 DAYS OF HOLIDAY THERE IS A LOT BETTER VALUE FOR MONEY THAN THIS HOTEL, WOULD NOT BE RETURNING.
Generally an excellent hotel. Superb cuisine and friendly staff.. Only two complaints 1) Bath towels in the room were so thin you could almost see through them. 2) the pool was noisy and overcrowded with sunbeds but even so it was impossible to get a bed after mid-morning. There were no other places to sunbathe and get some peace and quiet. There were plenty of large open spaces around the grounds and it would have been nice to be able to have some sunbeds away from the pool.
My only disappointment was not being able to book us into the alternative restaurants available. I also think waiter service around the pool would reduce the amount of queueing for everyone. The hotel was very very clean!
Pros: good food in themed restaurants, nice and efficient service, very good drinks, good quality alcohol. On Sundays, proseco is served with breakfast. The hotel is very well maintained. Cons: the amphibian bar is very different from those in the facility.
service quality of food there. is nothing o could complain about. the specialty restaurants were great just a bit repetitive but the food was good l. would rather go there every night than the dinner hall(buffet).
We have previously visited this hotel twice in 2019, once in Feb for 1 x week and once in Sep/oct for 2 x weeks. This time we went for 11 days and noticed a distinct fall in the service provided in the Promenade Restaurant. Going for breakfast, lunch and dinner each time any free tables were full of dirty crockery, when sitting and waiting for someone to come and clean away, this too up to 10 mins. The wait staff were also quite rude, were avoiding making any eye contact, and generally just an overall poor service. This wasnt our opinion in 2019 when the service was first class. There were Managers on the door at the time and the staff were pleasant, couldn't do enough for you and everything was clean and tidy. My husband did speak to the Manager over a week into our holiday - first time we'd actually seen one in the restaurant at dinner service. Unfortunately he disagreed with my husband (a first in the service industry to actually argue a point with a guest who was giving their opinion of one aspect of the hotel), we had no complaints for any other part. We did receive a bottle of 'fizz' and a rui gift in our room. Some of the staff had mentioned that they were short staffed hence the problems but this is for the Hotel to sort and not for guests to experience - especially as we were still paying for a 5 star service. I probably wouldnt have even complained apart from the fact it happened every time we went to sit down in the Promenade Restaurant. …
