Nice peaceful location 7min far from beach, cosy common porch, spacious and clean rooms. Here, you will breathe a special kind of genuine homely vibe, that rare mix of helpful friendliness along with laid-back discretion. Definitely, Camilla has that delightful 'plus' that makes the big difference from mainstream jumbo hotels.

I visited this small but perfectly run hotel in late February and feel a bit guilty about leaving it so long to write this review. As a single traveller and a mature lady I often prefer the anonymity of a larger establishment but this was a welcome change. I was made to feel so welcome right from my arrival. The...

A Hotel with 15 rooms and very friendly staff. This creates a familiar feeling. The owner has managed to create a small hotel with atmosphere not far from the beach. The beaches will take your breath away. It is like to be in Carabien.

Ideal location: just 4 minutes to the main road with the shops, restaurants and bars + 5 minutes to the beach, and 2 streets away from the noisy tourist streets. Great atmosphere, it is fantastic: the staff and the owner made us feel at home from day 1. You won't like this place if you are the ''lodge-lover, design the...

We were there for a week and will be back. Porta do Vento is far enough off the beaten track to be restful, whilst a two minute walk to the main street for restaurants and two minutes more to the beach. I enjoyed being somewhere different from the new-build hotel complexes springing up around Sana Maria. Our room was comfortable,...

Basic but good hotel, with a great balcony overlooking local nursery and hardware store. A must have! Fridge does work, if it's plugged in and the BBC World Service on TV perfect for background noise. Mrs Hotelier very pleased to sell you a beer to take to room even if you get back after closing time

The owner lady is the grumpiest and most impolite lady I have ever met. In a hotel the staff should be friendly to the guests, but she does not understand the business. We asked simple questions (like directions) and got rude answers. She always felt offended. When we come home late we need to knock on the door and she...

In fact, the hotel is quite ok. I didn't have that much expectations. Simply furnished rooms, a balcony, bathroom with a little window, a non-working fridge, clean so far. BUT the owner is not ok! She was impolite, grumpy and unbearable. Why? - She wasn't able to answer simply questionned and she always felt offended! As a tourist you'd like...

Be careful before you book! We booked this so called hotel because of the reviews and walked into a completely different place than we expected. For one this jovial owner was anything but, the service was terrible and one felt more like an intruder than a guest We asked others at the hotel including a gentleman from Chester to check...

The place is a little off the center of Santa Maria, so when walking home at night it is pitch dark and the wandering dogs makes the walk adventurous. One major problem I had was the non-English speaking staff. Why in 2015 and in this place isn't it possible to have staff that can speak some English! All the customers...
