So tell me my good friends, what is it about overseas hotels and the English when it comes to rooms. I emailed the hotel "Iberostar" and told them that I am in my eighties and, if there is no lift, then I require a minimum of stairs. So what is the first room I am allocated? You've guessed. Back of the hotel and up this country's equivalent of the Spanish Steps. So, back to reception and after giving them the Phillips charm offensive, for which there is no know defence, we have a great room on the ground floor with a rear balcony overlooking the garden and the front door a two minute walk to the pool area and an amazing beach. Why couldn't we have been given this the first time I will never know and saved all that bother.

Have just returned from a 26 day holiday can't fault this hotel at all everything 5 star staff brilliant the hotel is spotless. My only moan is long trousers for men at night tailor shorts look just as smart just a suggestion I think it would be nice to put a recycling box at reception for all the half empty suncream that people don't want to take home and then people could swap it if they run short. All in all a fab holiday so much so we have booked for another month in November keep up the good work fab can't wait to return see you in November xxx lynda and Eugene

Have just returned from this resort and cannot speak more highly of it. The staff where excellent, polite, efficient and professional. The food was delicious. Each meal was well presented, varied and tasty.even the pool snack bar was great. My favourite meal was breakfast if I am honest. What a lovely clean and varied selection. All meals were served well and hygienically, I should know as I am a health & hygiene operative in London. The rooms were excellent. The grounds clean and very well maintained. I have only one reservation about this resort and that is the beach. If you are a sea swimmer this is not the place for you as the tides are massive and very dangerous. There was a red flag for full duration of my 10 day stay. Having said that the beach was glorious I would like to thank all of the staff for an excellent holiday and I look forward to returning in the near future

I have just returned from a 2 week holiday with my partner at the iberostar club hotel. This is a fantastically relaxing hotel, the staff are the most attentive and friendly I have ever come across and treat you as if you are family, I witnessed the manager Carolina personally help take a couple ( we had become friendly with) to a local clinic for an X-ray as one of them had hurt their leg before they came away and it had become painful, Carolina made sure they were taken care of and stayed with them throughout the appointment, what phenomenal service. There are a few very minor niggles, the rooms and mainly bathrooms need a little updating but I understand this has begun. The food is amazing, I am sceptical about all inclusive food, I have been a chef and run my own establishments and believe me it is hard to cater for large numbers of people, there was something for everyone here, I have never seen such diversity in dishes offered, and make sure you check out what they are cooking when they do their specials, everyday they have something somewhere in the restaurant that they cook for you fresh. Overall this is an amazing hotel, friendly staff, good food, really comfy rooms (beds and pillows are lovely) some great entertainment, love the guys dancing round the pool in the mornings. Stay here if you want a good relaxing but fun holiday, please don’t go looking for faults and if you want perfection, as with anywhere you go, you can always find faults, a holiday is what you make it. Love this hotel, love the staff, thank you all so much for a wonderful 2 weeks and making us laugh and looking after us and our friends, love you and sure we will see you again and will be looking at the rooms right overlooking the beach on the front with their own garden area. Keith and Chris room 2121

My husband and I have just spent a week at this hotel in order to get some winter sun. The room - really lovely, clean, well decorated and equipped. Nice little balcony. No complaints at all. Always returned each day to find it beautifully made up and with a nice floral decoration on the bed. A nice touch! Food - buffet was varied and good quality. Good options (I don't eat meat so naturally concerned about choices) always pasta and pizza available if none of the other options appeal, and there's always fish and meat done fresh on the griddle to order. Very pleasant staff at the buffet and collecting dishes. Sandra very smiley and kind. Only suggestions - it would be good to have more variety of soup throughout the week as there were a few days where the soup flavour was the same before it changed (but there was always a veggy option which was appreciated). Would also be good to have a place to get spare cutlery as sometimes had to ask for replacement which caused a small delay.. would have been easier to just have somewhere to grab a spare (like the spoons near the soup). Generally very happy with the food. Pancakes at breakfast were amazing! Hotel and grounds - beautifully maintained, amazing location and the beach is divine.. white soft sand. A few sellers on the beach but they don't approach you if you are on sunbeds, only if you walk along the beach. Not too pushy. Very kind hotel staff offer you drinks and there is a lifeguard on duty and they bring you a mattress for your sunlounger without you even needing to ask. The only downsides we can think of (being really fussy because the whole experience was really positive and we would definitely go back): Lost luggage - not the hotels fault at all, but our luggage arrived a day later than us. Upon check in we were told it would arrive and be delivered to our room the next day. When we asked at reception the next day they helpfully phoned the airport who confirmed it had arrived but the man on reception then said we had to go in a taxi to collect it from the airport. My poor husband on the second day of our holiday therefore had to get a taxi back to the airport to collect it. Not a huge deal as it's only 10 minutes and 10 euros to get the taxi however we just felt like (having been assured it would turn up in our room) the hotel could have perhaps done a little more to help in this situation. Photographer - there is a man photographing your every move and then tells you you can see / buy the photos in the shop. This is nice perhaps when entering for dinner.. but he was snapping photos at some very unwelcome times (for example, when wrapped up in a towel on a sun lounger having just been for a swam and looking really tough!) If you say no or try and hide your face it only seemed to encourage him.. in the end we just humoured him knowing that we would never be seeing/buying the photo. Not a big deal but could have done without it. The bigger issue - the animation team, who were (on the most part) really good, for those that wanted to join in with stuff. We were there over half term and heard from some other guests that there were understandably a lot more of the animation team around that week, for the families. Most of them were very pleasant and engaging but not too pushy with their activities. Felanciano was our favourite he was so lovely. My husband engaged in a lot - volleyball, water polo, football, and we joined in a with dancing during a little pool party they threw. The thing we didn't like: There seemed to be a lot of silly costumes, that weren't just for the benefit of the children/kids club. For example, when trying to engage people in aqua aerobics, a man was prancing around in a wig, with big fake boobs and earrings trying to get people in the pool. Some people seemed to find it funny, I thought it was rather bad taste (especially as is was for adults not just children) The worse case I would like to reference is the one show we saw in the evening (930pm, when you'd expect young children to be in bed). We watched a very talented pair of musicians do a rock concert. They were on stage and just playing/singing - lovely. Unfortunately some members of the animation team were obviously tasked with trying to 'jolly up' the audience and in doing so, they dressed up in stupid, unrelated outfits and pranced around like idiots, with no choreographed routine (they would come on, dressed up, prance around for a bit, then huddle in the middle whispering and trying to decide what silly thing to do next) this whole thing was unecessary and unprofessional and such a shame for the professional artists trying to do a set. It was actually embarrassing and made us quite cross. There weren't children there , and it wouldn't be expected to try and engage children at 930 pm, and some of the outfits were not really appropriate anyway (a man dressed in a bikini and high heels and a wig, prancing around doing sl*t drops.. tacky!! ) Anyway. To sum up. Apart from the pratting around of the animation team at certain times and the constant photos being taken, we very much enjoyed our stay. We were lucky with the weather but it is jolly windy! It's advertised as 5* which may be true in comparison to other hotels on the island (we have no frame of reference as this was our first visit) however it felt more 4* to us. But perfectly lovely place to come and relax . Thank you iberostar we would like to come back again .
