We stayed with our dog in a standard king room for 2 nights in April. It was immaculate and very comfortable and Diana was extremely accommodating. Even the hot tub was sparkling clean and hot - in the off season. I was delighted. Thank you Diana! We will be back.
The hotel AND restaurant combined had 2 staff members working during peak season. The room was NOT cleaned upon arrival (hair, flossers, trash on floor). The elevator and pool are broken. No ice machine. One microwave for hotel and NO refrigerators. Mold on ceilings and coming through walls. It needs updating desperately. We left for skiing after requesting the hair and trash e removed from our room to find they left it WIDE open with all of our belongings and NO front desk staff. They just leave a phone number to call if you have trouble. It was so dirty we will be lucky if we don’t come home with a disease.
Came to Gore Mountain for a competition and choose this place because it looked like one of the nicer places in the area. Supposedly they are remodeling but they have a long way to go. Our room had huge buckels and bulges in the carpet, I kept tripping over them. Beds were not great but decent. Comforters available but not certain they are washed after every stay by the looks of how they are stored. There is a tub but not enough hot water to fill it. Each room has own hot water tank and they claim you just need to wait a few minutes after first shower but we waited three hours and still not enough hot water. It was 10 degrees below zero so a hot bath or shower would have been nice but you get maybe 4 minutes. The towels are terrible- like thin rags. The TV is old and the major channels have no sound and no smart TV to use any apps. Luckily there was wifi and we had a computer to watch super bowl. Others wrote the restaurant was good and I am not sure what they ate but our food was terrible. Soup, salad, french dip, calamari and all of it was bad. No flavor, meat was chewy. The shuttle to the mountain does not exist. Seems there is just the owner on staff and no help so if you need something late you may not get help. While the owner is kind, she isn't willing to discount you or offer you anything if there is an issue. Unfortunately this small town has been devastated by COVID so the other night we were there, nothing was open for dinner so PBJ in our room was our only option. This place has potential to be very charming but they have a long way to go and its WAY WAY to expensive- she can charge this because there is nothing else. If we go back we will stay towards St George and not in North Creek. This hotel could at least have nice linens/ a smart TV to help while they work through the remodel, if they even remodel.…
We arrived in the 13th , there was suppose to be shuttles to the slopes but found out that they canceled them during the week days and only running during the weekends, It was Friday morning & had no way of getting to the slopes (we came by train from NYC) no Uber ,no Taxi was not available. We went to the front desk , Diana who runs the place was not sure why the shuttle was not available but offered to take us to the slopes & back in the afternoon. What I can say is she is there to accomadate you and make your stay as nice as possible, she is very sweet. I would stay here again & there are shops & a supermarket 1 block away. Danny
Very disappointed. No one at front desk at check in. Room was d.i.r.t.y. No use complaining because the person who was working the desk had told us she cleaned the room(not) and also worked as bartender. From trash left under the sink, a dirty towel folded as if clean (and make up on it when opened), dead bug on the floor and clearly not wiped down. The hall smelled. The hall way was also dirty. I could have given some grace for being short staffed but the price for what you didn't get was ridiculous. I couldn't wait to leave. Only ok thing was the bar ambiance and convenience.
This property has been in town for a long time but closed from the previous owners. The location is perfect and basically the only place in town. There is another Lodge and B&Bs but we have always stayed here. I believe the new owners will make this the premier location with work and time. There are so many nice things in the hotel but some need repair. I think once they have been in business for a while - it will all get done. My biggest issue was no A/C in the restaurant. I was very uncomfortable and felt bad for the staff. There is a casual and formal dining areas. You can order from both menus in the casual part so we ate there. It was very hot. As with most of NY - there was not enough staff. This location also seems to be the only place in town for a nice dinner.…
I was so scared by the reviews but this was the only place that was open and accepted 1 night so we took it. The reviews were Love it or Hate it. We had the deluxe room with the fire place and Jacuzzi. I was surprised to see the hotel was re built in 1990. The rooms must have been almost dated when they finished them with the gold features and the phone in the bathroom. But these things do not bother me Check in was easy, the pool was nice. The room was clean and quiet, the bed comfortable. We had a supplemental AC unit in our room . I am not sure if they were having problems with the AC or if because it is Deluxe they want to make sure we are comfortable. I saw one other unit with the AC Added to the window .This was way nicer than many reviews. As someone told me after covid no one wants to work anymore making the owners be the house keepers, the cooks and the Concierge. They sometimes have to close half the hotel because there is no staff and that increases the rates per room .This is no fault of the pore hotel owners . So If you are worried bring Clorox wipes and give them a break. But this was a 4 for me . Very Pleased…
There is no housekeeping services "due to covid" but the hotel doesnt require mask. The rooms outlets are very faulty, if I were to plug in a charger into one of the ports, the lights upstairs would flicker and the outlet would no longer work. The internet drops every so often as well. (For late night arrival) There is only one woman -the owner- working the front desk and the entire hotel, which is why you have to text her to let you know you've arrived. Also for the "suite" the downstairs bathroom has a phone directly above the toilet paper, and because of this the dusty telephone cord lays on top of your toilet paper. For over $300 a night I would expect better.
First the positives: The waitress at the restaurant was LOVELY and amazing. Also- the woman at the front desk the morning we checked out was lovely and kind as well... Here are the negatives: We checked into our room, a king bedroom with a pull out sofa in the living room. The carpet was filthy right at the entrance, so it was just going to go downhill from there. I made three trips back to the front desk- within the first 10 minutes of being there: 1. I wanted to see if we could switch to a room with two beds as we were a family of four ( not a fan of a sofa bed). The answer was no , there were no rooms to switch into. 2. Second time I went out was to inquire as to why the heat was on instead of the AC- that's when we were informed not to touch it at all- it wasn't working and we basically made it worse by trying to adjust it to a cooler temperature.... as if we were supposed to have known.... The receptionist was getting annoyed at us at this point. 3. Third and last time I went out to the front desk- we opened the sofa bed and there was USED BEDDING FOLDED INSIDE THE SOFA BED. JUST DISGUSTING. She miraculously found us a different room. I can see this hotel at some point in time was nice. There was just not enough staff to keep it going. It was dirty and the poor waitress at the restaurant was doing EVERY table on a busy Saturday night with no busser to help her. …
I took this place because it was close to Gore. It is only a five minute drive to the mountain. I took the duplex room. It was perfect. Downstairs was the sitting area with a sofa bed, mini fridge and full bathroom. Upstairs had the king size bed and a very large bathroom with a jacuzzi bath. I placed my college age son downstairs and I stayed upstairs. After skiing I took a hot jacuzzi bath. The owner tries to make it a bit upscale by adding some classy touches such as bath salts, paper slippers for walking inside. The hotel restaurant was very good. I had the short ribs for dinner which were very moist and flavorful. The hotel has a nice common area with fireplace and chairs. The owner just took over and is doing her best to make everyone feel comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. …
