We had a lovely time staying here. Our room (queen room in the main building) was pretty and cozy, and we enjoyed both the breakfast and dinner options on site. The staff (huge shout out to Phil!) took great care of us when we unexpectedly had to stay longer than originally planned. There are a number of additional good restaurants within easy driving distance and this was a nice base for us for exploring this part of the Catskills. We'll be back!
We spent a weekend at the inn and highly recommend it for dinner in their excellent restaurant. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and an inventive menu. The accomodations were solid, nothing fancy but cozy. These are old buildings so sound certainly carries. For that reason we were glad to have the second floor suite in the Post Office building as it was a bit more secluded.
We stayed here for a wedding in 2 rooms in the main inn. The rooms were $349 each plus tax (we were told it would be $250/night) and especially considering the high price were some of the worst I have ever stayed in. The most uncomfortable beds ever that literally gave us terrible back pain, lumpy pillows, holes in the sheets, shortage of bath towels, no central A/C (just a window unit in bedroom and no A/C or vent in bathroom), everything was old, no room amenities whatsoever. I think they are going for a rustic chic look but it just looked old, cheaply furnished from yard sales, and the inn is in terrible need of renovations and updates. Unreliable water for showers- just a trickle whenever any water was being used elsewhere in the building. Not at all child friendly other than the grounds and bowling alley. Dinner food was served cold and not that great- one main course (fish, cauliflower & mushrooms) was literally burned to a crisp. Breakfast was just a continental breakfast and not kid friendly- no fruit, vegan oats and only cereal was plain Cheerios. Parking lot is small, muddy. Front sidewalk is crumbling. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else!…
Hotel is cute, but the price-quality ratio is appalling. Stayed on a cold night in October; no heat. Sound proofing is nonexisting; you hear everything from above, outside, etc. Place is just rickety all over. No services. Since it has charm, I would maybe price rooms at 200, 250 tops, NEVER at more than 400, which is what we paid.
My boyfriend and I had been traveling for a few days in the Catskills and the inn was our last stop. We were delighted to see all of the grounds, adorable buildings, and loved the old school bowling lanes. We spoke with Yasmin making our reservation who was super sweet and friendly. Once we arrived, she greeted us and showed us the property, which is spectacular:) After getting the key to our room, there were many adorable touches that were left for us. Delicious cookies, handmade masks from a local company, two glasses to fill with cider, a s’mores kit and other sweet touches. We had the opportunity to eat at their restaurant...the four course options for dinner were outstanding and we loved the wines too. Couldn’t ask for a better selection. Breakfast the next morning was bagged for us to eat safely in any of the spaces on the grounds. They had packed hard boiled eggs, a delicious mixed green salad with fresh strawberries, over night oats, and chocolate/banana bread. The coffee was perfect too. We felt like The North Branch Inn was a spectacular ending to our weekend getaway. The friendly staff, beautiful scenery, and the rest of the accommodations were fantastic. Don’t miss out! Hopefully when we return, Covid will be gone and we’ll be able to bowl :) Thanks Yasmin for making our experience extremely special. …
This was an Awesome Hotel. The staff was all so friendly and went above and beyond to make sure my stay was pleasurable. I would recommend this Hotel to Family and Friends and will be doing so. Thanks to all the wonderful staff at this American Inn...
This hotel comes highly recommended we had such a good time, the service was so great kids loved the pool and we loved the jacuzzi... Definitely gonna have another visit to the Americinn with the family in North Branch MN...
I can't say enough good things about the North Branch Inn, or the Foster Supply Hospitality Group, in general. This is now our second stay with them, but our first at the North Branch Inn, and both experiences were truly magical. When we arrived we were greeted and escorted across the street to our room in the Library. Being the weekend after Thanksgiving it was rather slow, so they upgraded our room for free and we had the entire place to ourselves for the first night! Everything about this place screams comfort and home-away-from-home. It's like going to a family mountain house, but with a staff to help make sure all of your needs are met. The decor, wood-burning stove, claw foot soaking tub, and complimentary sherry and freshly baked cookies are just some of the touches that make this place magical; but the people and service are what make it memorable. Nina and Sahiba were absolutely delightful, helping us with ideas of places to visit during the day and ensuring we had all that we needed during our stay. Tanya, our server during Friday's dinner, was a blast! We laughed so much, I had wished she could pull up a chair and sit with us! And last, but certainly not least, there was Chef JP. The food was absolutely out of this world, from dinner to brunch, each bite was refined, yet rustic and you could taste the passion and care he (and his staff) put into each dish. After our dinner, we were lucky enough to have him join us at our table for a nightcap and great conversation about his journey to becoming the head chef at North Branch, his philosophy about food and the science/biology of it all, and of course, his dog Phoebe. If you are looking for a quaint getaway in the Catskills, filled with charm, special touches and top notch people, this is the place for you!…
We had the perfect anniversary weekend at the North Branch Inn! We drove from NYC on a Friday afternoon (trip is about 2.5 hrs) and arrived in the evening to a cozy wood-burning stove with apple cider brewing on top. We stayed in the main house in a king room. I was a bit wary of the noise since we were above the restaurant but it wasn't an issue at all. Nina kindly left us a handwritten note welcoming us to the inn and congratulating us on our anniversary. Upon the hotel reservation, NBI provided a list of local activities and they did not lead us astray. We had a wonderful time touring Apple Pond Farm, visiting The Arnold and walking around in Callicoon. Almost better was hanging around AT the inn. Our room was very comfortable with a fantastic shower (+ Malin and Goetz products) and a great bed. The parlor too was incredibly cozy and we passed hours just reading by the fire and feeding the wood burning stove. Best yet was the on-site restaurant. I cannot recommend the included breakfast more. It featured locally-made breads and other freshly-baked pastries, farm-fresh eggs, and charcuterie. It's the best hotel breakfast I've ever had and possibly just one of the best breakfasts I've ever had, period. We also ate dinner there both nights, including the chef's course on Saturday night for our anniversary. The menu is seasonal and thus, limited, but every course was delicious. We did try to bowl during dinner but it turns out we're both pretty bad bowlers. I have to commend the incredible staff for this weekend from Nina to Tanya to Chef JP and every single person who went out of their way to make our stay memorable. We closed out the restaurant on Saturday night, just spending time with the staff and it was a true delight. We can't wait for our next visit to North Branch Inn or its sister properties!…
Check-in is fast, easy and personal. Fresh baked cookies and a roaring fire awaited us in the lobby. We popped over to the bar for an afternoon cocktail and spent the afternoon reading on a comfy couch and sipping a delicious cocktail. We went into the bowling alley for a quick game. I can’t say enough about the tremendous service and hospitality. This is the BEST weekend getaway I’ve had in a long time. There are so many charming finds in the towns surrounding North Branch, too, so you can choose your adventure. I highly recommend.
