The home, room, hot breakfast, and grounds are just magnificent. Alana is a wonderful guide to the area. She served her own homemade jam at breakfast and had jars of it for sale that we happily brought home to keep the memories going! Our mattress in the Clover Room was so comfortable with a range of blanket, quilt, and comforter weights to choose from for the transitional fall season. Our towels were fluffy and soft and there were delicious lemongrass bee balm toiletries provided. The surroundings are so peaceful, and we enjoyed reading in the rocking chairs on the front porch in the evening. The location is perfectly located to explore surrounding areas in the Catskills like downtown New Paltz, Mohonk Nature Preserve, Gardiner, and farm stands/breweries/cideries/wineries galore. We can't wait to go back.

I recently had a girls weekend getaway at Watergrasshill and could not recommend the property enough. We were a group of 8 and were able to reserve all 4 bedrooms for the weekend. Each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom so it was perfect for a group of girls. We loved how charming the place is and was exactly as pictured. The BnB is renovated so has modern luxuries like central air and updated bathrooms, while still keeping its farmhouse charm with original fixtures and hardwood floors.

Alana, the owner, was amazing to work with and so accommodating. She was very responsive by phone or email and answered all our questions about the area. We wanted to do a private cooking class in the studio kitchen attached to the BnB and she was able to arrange that. We also arranged a private car service to do a wine tour in the surrounding area - Alana was able to recommend some companies and wineries to visit.

The homemade breakfast in the morning was a major plus, delicious food without the hassle of grocery shopping, cooking or cleaning for a party of 8. Alana made sure to ask about dietary restrictions/ allergies beforehand. There is also a coffee/tea bar that is accessible throughout the day. It was great to wake up and enjoy a cup of coffee on the porch. The grounds are stunning and great for sunset as well.

You won't be disappointed if you book Watergrasshill for your stay. The owner is so sweet and very dedicated to making the BnB your perfect getaway.

Restored and expanded home from 1810 on expansive property with rolling hills
on a quiet country road. 4 guest rooms decorated with style by the onsite owner Alana. Modern styled bathrooms and ample sized rooms include homemade breakfast and passes for the Mohonk Preserve nearby. We stayed there to walk and hike the nearby trails. Nice restaurants within 5 minute drive to the center of town.
Home is clean, quiet and well maintained. The pictures from the website are exactly what you will see and experience.

Clean antique quaint country house. Quiet.

However over priced.
No black out shades or curtains in the room you will be woken up with the sun.
Very disappointing breakfast- yogurt and frozen scone some cereal but no milk to eat it with. Nothing else.
Too expensive for what it's worth it.

I came to New Paltz for skydiving, but Watergrasshill B&B wound up being the highlight of my trip. The family that runs it are the cutest nicest people, and the house is absolutely dreamy. We stayed in the quaint Heather room which boasts lots of space and a modern bathroom. The bedding was so soft I made little cat noises every time I was in bed. The shared amenities include a plush living room, a time-travel dining room, and an expansive yard with a view of the orchard. Breakfast was a charming affair on the front porch, and the food was made with love. Perfect from start to finish.

COVID deets, since it's that kind of year - the family/staff was very attentive to ensure that guest arrivals and meal times were staggered to allow for social distancing but didn't feel stressful.

I have never stayed in a B&B before so I really didn’t know what to expect. It turned out to be one of the best getaways my wife and I have ever taken. Alana the owner is an extremely sweet young lady and was totally accommodating with anything we needed including making an unbelievable breakfast. She really made us feel at home. The house is perfectly clean and comfortable. Whether you’re looking for a place to just unwind and totally relax or looking to take a beautiful hike or rock scramble this is the ideal place for location and comfort.

We loved our stay at Watergrasshill B&B! We reserved all 5 rooms for my sister's bachelorette retreat weekend and it was exactly that...a reTREAT! Alana was very kind, helpful and accommodating. Each morning we had a delicious homemade breakfast and all of the rooms were beautiful and comfortable. Alana also helped us organize a wonderful cooking class in her big, beautiful kitchen. A definite highlight of our weekend. Watergrasshill is also in a perfect location with stunning views, a link to hiking trails and a short distance to the bustling streets of New Paltz.

My husband and I had such a nice and relaxing weekend at Watergrasshill B&B. Alana was very accommodating. She is extremely knowledgeable about the area, and I thought the tips on places to go on the website were helpful. The b&b is very cute, and we loved the location. It's right outside of town, but in a very peaceful area. We drove into New Paltz several times, but then were easily able to use local cab services when we didn't want to drive. Overall it was a great weekend, and I definitely recommend Watergrasshill!
