I visited Hungry Ghost in April 2016 and had an incredible stay. The house is welcoming and clean, the food is delicious, and Petra and Mike are wonderfully nice people. It's a great destination for triathletes! There are tons of places to run and bike, and there is an endless pool in the basement for swim technique lessons. Also, the... More

I came to stay with my best friend in March, 2016 and was absolutely blown away by the hospitality, cleanliness, comfort, and FOOD. The bed was a cloud- we couldn't wait to sleep each night after our long days hiking (amazing recommendations given by Petra), delicious vegan dinner from downtown New Paltz, vegan gourmet chocolates from Lagusta's Luscious in NP,... I stayed here in mid-March with my best friend. We had an absolutely wonderful time--Petra and Mike are so welcoming, kind, and personable! Everything from the linens to the breakfast to the hottub under the stars was more than we could have imagined. We had no idea that the New Paltz downtown area was so vibrant and full of great... We stayed at this lovely B&B for an overnight and enjoyed every moment. There were 3 of us (2 adults/1 child) and we stayed in the upstairs room. The room was lovely, clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable. As our child slept we sat in the outdoor hot tub under the stars. Magical. Petra even provides bathrobes and flipflops!... More

It was the best way to spend New Year`s vacations ever. Beautiful place, innocent nature, nice and kind people. I loved the house from the first view! You can really feel how alive and full of energy it is. Petra and Mike do their best to give this comfort to everyone...Petra`s healthy vegan breakfasts are delicious! I am happy to... More

My stay at the Hungry Ghost was so perfect in every aspect - the hosts, Petra and Mike, the accommodations, the optional outside shower, the location to town and Mohonk and hiking trails, and the setting. The hosts made me feel so welcome, I felt like their personal guest and friend. And the food! Whether you are vegan or not,... More

We spent three days at the Hungry Ghost Guest House with our family - grown children and granddaughter. We loved staying there. Everything about it was peaceful, welcoming and relaxing, as well as spotless, luxurious and fun. The owners, Petra and Michael made us feel like long lost family. They gave us great ideas on what to do and where... More

It was one of those experiences that will stay with you for a long time. Just came back to the city and I am already missing the sound of the wind whispering through the leaves... a place of pure serenity. Mike and Petra were such wonderful hosts. It felt as if some great friends invited me to their country house,... More

My fiance and I stayed for two nights while attending a wedding at the (much more expensive) Mohonk Mountain House, which is about 15 minutes away by car. My favorite thing was the Jacuzzi, on a nice outdoor deck; we were both thrilled with the outdoor shower. He said it was one of the best shaves he ever had! After... More

I booked a weekend for my daughters Bday having never stayed at a B&B it would be a new experience for both of us. As soon as we arrived we simply loved the property and the the friendliness of our host Petra. She was extremely accommodating. We stayed in the upstairs bedroom which is very roomy and airy.
