We had a great stay at this beautiful inn. It is historic, beautifully maintained with two wonderful inn keepers. Our room was large, quiet and well appointed. Breakfast was hot, delicious with wonderful service. Comparing with friend who stayed elsewhere close by we definite picked the right spot. Absolutely would come back.

Spent the night here after our wedding at the Genesee Country Museum. They let us check in early so that when our wedding was over we could be dropped off at the inn by family and go straight inside without having to mess around with a late check in while we are wearing our wedding dress and tux. It was... More

I stayed at here the night before my wedding is was wonderful. The owners where very accommodating. The room and bathroom where very clean. My husband and I where married at the church across the street. After the ceremony we took our entire wedding party on to the grounds of the bed and breakfast for pictures. Or wedding party was... This was my third stay (3 nights this time). I will always stay at the inn for any trips to the Rochester area. The inn is fascinating. The innkeepers have created a world-class B&B. Everywhere I look I see the attention to detail which adds up to comfort, ambiance and a fun memory. Deborah is an amazing hostess, with breakfasts... More

The Genesee Country Inn provides the perfect place for taking a break from "real life". The 1833 inn is a step back in time. The rooms are beautifully decorated and there is a "parlor" for reading by the fireplace. The grounds even allow for some roaming after having a delicious homemade breakfast.

I love this place! The hostess (Deborah) and host (Richard) are most accommodating. The breakfasts are always hearty and nutritious. The facilities are well maintained and the rooms are beautifully appointed. This inn was originally a mill. It has been beautifully converted in a wonderful facility. The grounds are also very beautiful and scenic.

I personally am driven to find the closest thing to "home" when I travel. That entails being comfortable to the point of actually forgetting that I am even away. Not an easy task for any Innkeeper to achieve, but that is exactly how I feel from the moment I arrive at the Genesee Country Inn Bed and Breakfast till I... More

Our entire experience at this inn was amazing! The innkeepers are very friendly, outgoing, and personable, and Deb is such a great cook! We stayed two nights, so both breakfasts were truly memorable. The first morning was a baked pancake served with maple syrup and homemade cider syrup -- delicious! The second morning featured eggs with bread bought from a... More

The property is so peaceful, and the owner is so attentive, that I felt that we were being spoiled. Great getaway for the night, very comfortable bed, awesome breakfast, we'll definitely do it again! Loved it!

Very beautiful and lovingly run B&B in the stunning Finger Lakes region. It is very close to Rochester and located close to the Letchworth State Park. The room was comfortable and nicely spruced up. Worth a visit again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Genesee Country Inn Bed and Breakfast, built in 1833in Mumford near Rochester, New York, is situated on Spring Creek, a trout stream where guests can enjoy private fly fishing or relax by the mill pond. The inn has ten distinctly, comfortably decorated bedrooms, all with private baths, air-conditioning, telephones, hair dryers, and TV/DVD players. The king suite enjoys a beautiful view of the gardens, fountain, and mill pond. The garden rooms have gas fireplaces and a view of the creek. Guests enjoy the comfort of a large parlor, dining room with a gas fireplace, and a beautiful all season sun room with gas stove. During the 1800s, the inn was a plaster mill and later a lumber mill. Around 1917, this lovely old mill with its 2 1/2-foot thick stone walls was converted to a two-family home. It wasn't until 1982 that the Garbutt Mill, which was a private residence, became the Genesee Country Inn. The inn is close to Rochester, Letchworth State Park, Niagara Falls, many museums, art galleries, colleges and universities. Also The Genesee Country Village and Museum, less than a mile from the inn, is the third largest living museum in the country where visitors can experience craftsmen demonstrating the trades of life in the 1800s. ... more   less
