We stayed in the New Vision Rv for six nights. My pup Lucille had a blast meeting new people and dogs, sunbathing, chasing critters, sniffing flowers and running off leash in the beautiful fields and trails. This place is really a well-kept secret paradise! Tips: All Rvs have a full kitchen, and small toilet and shower, It got pretty chilly at night even in July so a good blanket is a must. Can be damp inside the trailer, so wet clothes may not dry. Cabins are clean with a full kitchen, but no bathroom or shower. There is a shared toilet/shower house which is actually pretty pleasant and clean. Cooking over the shared wood fire is an excellent experience.
A perfect getaway for me & my recent rescue Gizmo. We were able to wander around without a leash, without a worry. Walking through wonderfully manicured trails, in wooded spaces and through gorgeous meadows, without several swimming holes to choose from in a clean & crisp creek that runs through the property. If it seems a bit on the pricey side... once you see all the amenities and the unique nature of the property, I bet you'll agree it is not overpriced. Ian and Mindy do a wonderful job maintaining and improving the place, and are attentive and lovely hosts.
This was our second visit in 2020 and will re book for 2021! This place is heaven on earth. Owners Ian and Mindy are fantastic they have thought of everything! Truly amazing. We have met some amazing people visiting here and have remained friend and we are all coming back in 2021. Hands down you will not be let down Emerald Glen Getaway is Paradise. I would recommend this to any dog lovers, you will not regret your visit!!
This is a fun and rejuvinating slice of off-leash heaven for you and your dog(s). It's a perfect place to hike, play fetch, take an afternoon nap, swim in the creek and socialize. You can join in the fun too :) I've stayed in the RVs these past few years. They're clean and well maintained. You bring your own bedding and towels so you can be as fussy or relaxed about that as you'd like. I've gone solo, have arranged to meet up with friends from previous years and did a trip with my niece, her husband and their pup. The new owners are great! I love the updates that they've made this season and I look forward to returning in the spring of 2021! Here are some tips for first time visitors: 1. Take the property tour that's offered after check-in. It's helpful to see the trail options so that you pick appropriate trails for you and your pups. 2. Bring some good footwear - hiking boots or trail running shoes are handy. 3. If you have a walking stick, bring it along. This is a great opportunity to use it. 4. There are great photo ops for pooch portraits on the trails! 5. BYOB - a nice glass of wine with dinner or perhaps a brandy by the campfire in the evening? 6. Don't forget to look up at night. The sky is amazing on clear nights! 7. My friends had LED dog necklaces - I just ordered them for my dogs (chewy.com) - really helpful for off leash night walks around the property. 8. Be mindful of the mix of dogs and make sure they're all having a good time. It's easy enough to fix if they aren't. 9. Barking Beach is really popular and there's a hidden gem just across the creek - we usually take our nap there. You can cross over when the water is low. 10. You're on vacation with your best friend(s) in a beautiful spot and you saved the expense of a kennel!! Kick back and enjoy every moment of it!…
This place is for friendly dogs and their people (sorry, no kids allowed) - its amazing. I cannot express how awesome this getaway is. The joy both my dogs, my husband and i have renting one of the RVs at this getaway - the dogs as always have the best time being off leash and with other dogs and hiking the trails. This was our 9th trip and it gets better every time. The RVs had everything we could need. Even better is the Hound Hub which is a communal space (perfectly set up for covid distancing) where we spent every night preparing our food and relaxing with the friends we made during our escape. The Valley view for sundowners is perfect too. The set- up of the walking trails, the attention to detail and the locations of the relaxation spots with lounge chairs and some with umbrellas, a few have water access for dogs. This place is doggie heaven and where owners get to meet like minded people. We'll definitely be back again.…
Just ended my trip at Emerald Glen Getaway, Molly and I have been going there for 5 years and this year was the best yet! The new owners, Mindy and Ian, are fantastic! The place is heaven for humans and canines alike! Do your dog a favor and book your trip today!
This place is everything that your dog could ever ask for. This might be their last year, so you should book your trip ASAP! I guarantee that you, your family, and your dog(s) will have a once in a lifetime experience here.
GHF is literally one of the great hidden gems in America. As much as it's all about the dogs, the people who reside there, as well as the fellow visitors we've encountered every time, are almost as wonderful as the dogs (sorry, but in my humble opinion humans just can't get to the dog level of greatness). The beauty of it (for my wife & I) is that every dime spent to stay is a charitable donation to one of the most important causes on Earth... an amazing dog rescue that saves & rehabilitates hundreds of dog that often suffered in early life. GHF is an absolute must-see.
My husband and I wanted to take our 1st anniversary trip where our dog could go with us. We enjoyed every moment during our stay and our dog had the best time! The owners and staff were very personable and kind!
