Resorts World Catskills receives mixed feedback from guests. While the service garners both commendation for attentive staff and criticism for occasional slowness, the atmosphere is widely appreciated for its lively music and comfortable rooms. The hotel's amenities, including diverse dining options and picturesque surroundings, are a hit, though the gym and certain service aspects fall short. Value-wise, guests have raised concerns about the cost, pointing out additional fees and expensive dining. Room experiences vary, with cleanliness and comfort praised, but booking and maintenance issues noted. Overall, cleanliness is well-regarded, despite some reports of sporadic housekeeping.

We stayed at the annex, which was nice but at night, Mexican restaurant by the lobby was extremely loud and the shops for golfers and snacks and games for golf simulations were all closed.

The room was neat and clean but slightly but all the restaurants except for this loud Mexican were in the main hall, needed to go outside and walked approx 100 yards- very inconvenient when rain. We wanted to go to a swimming pool but because of this, we were not able to do.

Casino looked fairly busy with gamblers.
Restaurants were a bit steep with automatic 20% tip addition to the charge. Italian steak was extremely busy and needed a reservation in advance.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're glad to hear that you found your room neat and clean. However, we apologize for the inconvenience you experienced from the noise from Dos Gatos and the distance to the other amenities, especially in unfavorable weather. Not quite sure I understand the "resort" aspect of this place other than the corporate name and pricing. Here for a night when attending a nearby event. Staff was generally friendly and efficient, and my $300 Alder room in the annex building was clean, seemed new, and offered a very good nights sleep in a comfy bed. But that's about the end of it.

No connection to the main building / casino, so when our group finished dinner and jt was pouring outside, we were stuck. No covered / underground connection. Asked about umbrellas and was advised they "might" be available in the gift shop for $30. Asked about using a fridge (none in the room) and they offered to bring one up for $35; unsure if that was per night or stay as I passed on the offer.

Shower was hot with decent pressure, but the Dial soap provided was the smallest bar I've ever seen. Called "Dial Marble" it was the size of a match book (remember those?) and not quite as thick as the flimsiest piece of cardboard. Shampoo / body gel combo were screwed into the shower, which had a plastic / fiberglass basin pulled out of Home Depot's bargain bin. There was an individual bar of body lotion in the bathroom which had been half-used by the last occupant. No q-tips/cotton amenities, and the sole dining option in the Alder Annex is closed 3 nights/week and closes @ 8 2 other nights.

I don’t really gamble so no comments on the casino.

Went for a two night stay as we have visited several times in the past. When we checked in everything was fine and we were asked if we would like housekeeping the next day to which we answered yes. Then we were asked what time and the front desk suggested 11am and we agreed. The next day housekeeping never showed by 1:30 pm and my wife went down to front desk 4 times after which housekeeping showed up 5pm. My wife had wanted to take a nap in the afternoon but never did since she did not want to be disturbed by house keeping showing up. Might seem minor but was disruptive. Hopefully they will do better if we decide to visit again

We stayed at the Alder part of the hotel across from the main hotel. Got no directions to that building, the entrance door would not open, told it "sticks". The room was large enough and surface cleaned, when you looked on the side of the bed, the carpet was dirty. No coffee creamer and no microwave. Every time we wanted to go to the casino, pool, or restaurant we had to go outside and walk to the main building. The pool was not warm but very friendly man putting beach towels away. The 24/7 Bistro was very expensive, and the food was not good. Hostess had no smiles and, on her phone, but the waitress was super friendly and helpful.
Not much restaurant variety and again very expensive. Had to order out for last dinner. Casino was good but no incentives for first visit or continued play. We will not be visiting again. We also wanted to pay cash for our hotel room but with a $200
deposit we were forced to pay with a credit card.

Hi Lisa, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your stay at The Alder didn’t meet your expectations. Your experience with the entrance door and the cleanliness of the carpet are certainly not reflective of our standards, and we have addressed this with our facilities and housekeeping team upon seeing your review. We understand the inconvenience of walking to the main hotel for amenities. We strive to provide clear directions and a seamless experience, so we apologize for any confusion and want to assure you we're working on a solution for the directions to and from The Alder. Your comments about the 24/7 Bistro and restaurant variety have also been shared with our Food & Beverage management. We appreciate your feedback regarding payment options and have reached out to our hotel management regarding this as well. We value your input and hope you might reconsider in the future. Thank you again for your time.

Not impressed for the money! Stayed in room 211 which was right next to the storage room and housekeeping room and the banging and noise was unbearable. Woke me up at 5am and after calling the front desk and speaking to front end manager Jasmine or Yasmin I was told housekeeping doesn’t start that early. Well I got up and opened my door and witnessed someone from housekeeping leave from the storage room and e get the housekeeping room and asked me if everything was ok? I said no the loud banging is very disturbing at 5am. Front end manager was not apologetic at all. She was more defensive than sympathetic as if I was lying! “Go to the tape”! Is how I felt. I was told housekeeping starts at 11:30 We also arrived early because after numerous emails to top golf flight I couldn’t it confirm our time slot so we decided to go early to inquire. The waitresses at the bar also cover top golf and seem entirely too busy to handle both. The waitress was Very accommodating but very busy! There were no printouts signs posted, pamphlets or anything to tell us where the pool was or the hours of operationor list of restaurants, with hours of operation. Not even a directory in the room, We stayed at The Alder and the pool was located in the other hotel but there was no information anywhere to tell us that and the adult pool only had several children in it even though it said adults only 21 & over. Every time I needed to find out something I had to call or go to the front desk. We never found out where breakfast was available. Our room was $340 per night and we had no refrigerator. We definitely won’t be returning to this over priced hotel. We checked out at 6am even though checkout was 11am I was tired and just wanted a good unbothered sleep! Hotel was very clean and room was nice.

We spent three nights here in the high-rise hotel as part of a birthday celebration with my husband and family. The rooms were spacious, clean and updated. Very nice layout of the large bathroom. Really enjoyed the separate vanity area with makeup mirror. Truly comfortable for a couple to share. The rooms were quiet at night and we slept well. We walked over to the Alder (adjoining property) which was honestly, underwhelming. They do have what looks like a fun bar area and there are lots of game tables for kids, etc. David, our bellman was wonderful on arrival and so was the gentlemen who brought our bags down; I am sorry I did not catch his name.

The 24/7 Diner is great for breakfast. We had dinner one night at Lotus, the elevated Asian restaurant and our meals were fantastic. Another night, we had dinner at Cellaio, which I can honestly say was one of the best meals we have ever had. Excellent steaks, sides, cocktails and desserts. The wait staff is knowledgeable and attentive. No regrets about any of our meals at this hotel. One caveat, so you are aware: there is a mandatory 20% service gratuity added to every check - even at the bars. I must say that we had a good experience with all the servers we interacted with, so we did not mind at all.

We're not gamblers, so I cannot really comment on the action at this Casino. The surrounding area is very quiet and not much going on outside the resort.
We really went for just a quick qetaway and were very pleased overall.

We went to check in after a day on the road visiting attractions in the southern tier of NYS. Our reservation was at the Alder which is immediately next to the casino hotel. The Alder is a smaller hotel which appears to be dedicated more to the golfer who is at the resort to experience the monster golf course. Nonetheless, we were eligible for a comp room there, but not in the casino hotel. Upon arrival, the layout of the Alder made it difficult for my wife who has trouble getting around. I had already checked in when we determined this. At that point I asked Janet, the front desk clerk, if there was anything available in the casino hotel. I was willing to pay to make it easier for my wife to get around. Janet checked the computer and told me she could get me in the all-suite casino hotel and it too would be a comp. She then said, the only floor where she could get me close to the elevator is the 19th floor (just below the penthouse). I said that I didn't have a floor preference. Janet was able to take care of our check in immediately from the front desk of the Alder. That was so convenient, and room was absolutely fantastic! We ran into Janet in the lobby later on and couldn't thank her enough. She was very sweet and made sure there wasn't anything else we needed.

The food was a bit pricy, but its pricy everywhere these days. That being said, the portions are HUGE! We ate dinner and breakfast at the 24/7 cafe. The one annoying thing about the restaurant is the tiny disclaimer at the bottom of the menu telling customers that a 20% gratuity will be added onto the bottom end of the bill. Gratuities are traditionally at the discretion of the customer. So if the service is lousy or your server is a jerk, you reward them just the same. We typically tip more than 20% for good, friendly service so it was really not an issue for us, however we were put off by being forced to tip.

Overall, the stay was fantastic. We stayed in the best hotel room we've ever experienced and had a good time with good food and very friendly staff during all encounters. Once again, and I cannot emphasize the enough, Janet from the front desk is a rockstar. She has a bright future should she stay in the hospitality industry. I spent a 35-year career in the hospitality industry and am qualified to make this judgement.

Can't wait to go back!

David Metrando, Highland, NY

Resorts World Catskills is a beautiful hotel just under two hours from New York City. Unfortunately, my experience this past weekend was not great. I had requested connecting rooms with my host. When I checked in, the front desk representative was very friendly and assigned us to two connecting rooms. When we arrived at our rooms, we quickly noticed it was a handicapped room by the bars all over and the wheelchair-accessible shower. As I would prefer a non-accessible room, I immediately went downstairs to see if anything else was available. The first front desk agent had gone on break and I was helped by someone else. She did not want to change my rooms and told me that the only rooms that connect are handicapped rooms. When I offered to upgrade and pay a fee, she told me none were clean/available without even checking her inventory. She begrudgingly changed the one room to a different floor and didn't want to change the other room. After I pressed needing to be on the same floor, she begrudgingly assigned that room on the same floor down the hall. When we arrived to the new room, I noticed there was a connecting door and that room still had the COVID-19 sticker in tact on the door (which means it was clean and ready to go). I called my host and she indeed confirmed the connecting room was available and switched me to it. Why would this front desk clerk not want to accommodate a guest's needs? Guests pay a lot of money and take time out of their schedules to visit your property and nobody deserves this kind of service, especially invited guests of the casino. Also, the quality of the amenities in the hotel have significantly decreased since opening.

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Resorts World Catskills that has left me questioning the quality of their customer service and their commitment to guest satisfaction.

My girlfriend and I, who stay quite often, attempted to book a comp stay. Unfortunately, the website was not functioning properly, so we called to make the reservation over the phone. We provided my credit card information, and the reservations specialist confirmed that the stay was comped. However, he inexplicably called my girlfriend by the wrong name, which raised immediate concerns about the accuracy of our booking.

When we called back to address this issue, the situation went from bad to worse. The reservations specialist we spoke to was shockingly rude and combative, repeatedly insisting that we could not get a comp room and refusing to listen to our concerns that my credit card had been added to someone else’s profile. This occurred because the reservationist had mistakenly entered the wrong rewards number. Despite our efforts to explain the seriousness of the situation, she continued to focus on the comp room issue and ignored the security breach.

We were on the phone for over 30 minutes trying to get this rectified. It was only after considerable effort on our part that they finally deleted my credit card from the wrong profile. However, even after correcting this mistake, they still refused to honor the comp night that was initially promised.

This experience has been incredibly frustrating, disappointing, and concerning. I expected much better from a hotel and casino of this caliber. I hope that Resorts World takes this review seriously, not only to improve their customer service but also to address the serious security breach that occurred. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend staying here anymore.

Been going here for a while. First time staying overnight. Went with 2 other couples so booked 3 rooms. Rooms are pretty decent. We got a king room in the main tower. Room was nice. Bed faces the huge window and tv is on the wall to the left and no way to pull out to watch in bed. Bathroom is huge. The toilet seat shifted when you sit and there was a loud high pitched bang when flushing. Casino is awesome. It was a little on the warmer side. Cocktail waitresses are lacking. Wait forever to catch one to order a drink. We went with the 24/7 Bistro for dinner Waitress, food and service were great. Keep in mind they automatically add 20% gratuity to any receipt. So the next morning went to order some light breakfast to take up to the room. Person behind the counter ignored me standing there where you place to go items and watched as I’m standing there and people are walking in, sitting at the counter and getting waited on. I finally got fed up and went over to talk to receptionist and finally he came over to take my order. Keep in mind the tip is forced not earned so no reason for him to be held to account. So ordered a toasted plain bagel French toast and a side of crispy bacon. The bagel was rubber and with tip $6. The French toast (3 triangles) and bacon was $24 with the tip. $30 on crap. They really rip you off in the food and drink dept. other than the forced gratuity and overpriced food, we had a great time. They had an 80s band playing by the sports o ok bar area which was pretty good. Overall 8/10
