My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in the Isabelle room. We loved that it was very private, being the only room up that stairway/wing. The room was not huge, but big enough for our luggage and walking around. There was adequate room to hang things. The bathroom was outside of the room, but not a problem even in the... More

Well-located, historical lodging. Friendly, non-invasive staff. Nice breakfast. The photos make the rooms look newer and fresher than they actually are however they are clean, comfy and in good working order. Unlike other bed and breakfasts, no one will come around to empty your trash or change your towels. Some good restaurants nearby include 88 Charles and the Wildfire Grill.

We are so happy you enjoyed your stay and the food. We do try to keep the rooms as updated as possible given the property and home, built in 1789, are historically registered. We did just celebrate getting our GREEN certification which does mean that we leave your room undisturbed while you visit. However, on your next stay if you... More

Helpful tip: free parking immediately opposite the Borland, in Municipal car park, which always had plenty free spaces in the 8 days I was there. Also for unloading car there are plenty one hour (free) spaces just outside, although the big car park is only a few seconds away. Library opposite lets you use internet for free. Lots of free... We stayed in Borland House for 2 nights mid week after Labor Day weekend and it was wonderful .We were the only guests there and felt like we rented a house, not a room. The place is old,but has a very cozy feel to it,the room on the 2nd floor was big with a nice private bathroom .the house has a great... Apart from being clean and attractive, the Boreland House offers incredible food! My husband and I stay at many inns, and the culinary experience was above and beyond - Thanks, Anna! The location of the inn is great for people who want easy access to many attractions, and Larry Frumes, who owns the inn with his wife, was extremely helpful... More

We rented all Borland House for a weekend for a family reunion. We were able to have the run of the house. The adults sat on the rockers on the front porch and watched the young boys playing catch on the front lawn. Most of the rooms were spacious and the water system handled 8 showers on the afternoon before... More

We visited the Borland House for a bachelorette party and loved it so much. We were a group of 11 and had plenty of room. The rooms were very clean. Anna made the planning seamless and thought of every detail. The cooking class was great and the food all weekend was delicious. Perfect for a weekend away. We will definitely... More

The Isabela room was tiny but cute. The best part was the private staircase to our room and private bathroom which helped cut down on the noise we heard from the creaky, older floors. We had the special for breakfast which was a delicious egg skillet with spinach and jack cheese. I was also able to get a cappuccino which... More
