The lodging was perfectly acceptable but the staff are incredibly rude to hotel guests. Do not stay here unless you are a resident or know a resident. They treat hotel guests terribly. I paid prime high season rates and was treated like it was a “favor” that I was “allowed” to stay there.
My friends and I have stayed here for our Annual Montauk trip for several years. Such poor communication & inconsistent information from front desk staff each and every time you call. I am not sure what they have staffed there, but clearly they all need training. Another thing they could ALL use some training with is customer relations. Every time you go to or call the front desk for something it's as if you are bothering the staff. I understand times are difficult right now and I always take that into consideration with my reviews, but the rudeness received from that staff is in my opinion, unacceptable. However, other staff members the opposite. So friendly, inviting and warm. The restaurant staff great, shuttle drivers, even better and cleaning staff always say, "Hello." Management should think of switching the hotel staff with their front desk staff and it would have been a more pleasant stay. Our room this year (2 BR "Suite") also meh at best. Floor blanks had big gaps that can be easily tripped on, shower sliding door broke and very difficult to open and close and the bathroom vanity door broke. Normally I would over look these things and not write about it, but given the service at the front desk and price... Pool is great and beautiful views from here. From the outside the hotel is beautiful, only wished their front desk staff matched the same beauty.…
I was excited to stay here but unfortunately came down with COVID a few days before my scheduled trip. When I called the hotel they gave me no information about rescheduling or refunding, and told me to discuss with expedia. When I did that, I still received no information, so I followed up a few weeks later and spoke to someone extremely difficult on the phone, who informed me that if I had reached out when I was diagnosed they would have been able to change my reservation date, but since it is weeks later they are not able to do anything more me. Long story short, no one communicated effectively from the beginning and as a result I cannot get a refund or change of reservation date. On top of all of that, the person I spoke to on the phone was really not helpful or pleasant.
After struggling through 5h of miserable traffic from NYC we arrived at 9:21PmM. 21 minutes after 9pm. They told us to take a hike. They had rooms available but won't let us stay because we arrived 21 minutes late ! They "close" at 9pm. The place might be good, although the manor reeked of cigarette and mildew, the customer service was terrible. So at 9:30pm we had to start looking for a room with 2 kids sleeping in the back seats. We looked forward to our stay at the Manor but after this experience we stay away. The week will be spent at a different place and our friends also cancelled with them. This is 2022 no hotel should close at 9pm for guests. Sure we could have called ahead , had we known this crazy, never ever heard of strange policy, but they could also have said, ok, we check you in. Its a hotel, after all.…
I went to a wedding that was rescheduled 4 times due to COVID - Donna was very professional in rescheduling my reservation every time. Definitely next time I visit Montauk I’ll ask for Donna to make a reservation
Had a one bedroom "deluxe" suite. It was far from deluxe...tiny, beyond dated(1980's) and the bed was upstairs where you couldn't even get two suitcases open and stored. No where to sit on the patio and our room had a very bad, musty smell to it. The restaurant was more like a basic café and nobody at the check in desk really tried to help when we discussed the poor arrangements in the room shortly after checking in. Needless to say, we will not be back nor recommend it.
After rescheduling a few times we finally got to stay here, our friends have been coming here your years. Our room was a suite on first floor so bedroom was upstairs, there was a large patio outside our sliding glass doors BUT no furniture to sit outside. We went to the restaurant one morning for breakfast, my husband ordered two eggs over easy and he had to eat it out of a box……no plates! We also went to the very small bar for an after dinner drink and we weren’t allowed to sit on the couch by the fireplace, had to stay within the bar area. We would probably not go back, too many rules and staff not too friendly on phone and in person.
Spent the past weekend with friends and family at the Manor. Never really heard of it until a friend of mine suggested it for my 50th. So glad I listened to her! This place is beautiful inside and out. Each of our rooms looked to be updated recently and they were all nicer than the next. Donna helped me so much with the room bookings and keeping me informed as to who booked and who didn't. We will definitely be back soon!
I had an issue with my booking and Shanique was so kind and understanding. She put me on hold and spoke with her supervisor, Janice who approved the help I so desperately needed. If it wasn't for Shanique asking her supervisor and requesting that she approve my request, I am sure I wouldn't of received it. They both were amazing!
An apartment building, not a resort. Units are owned by individuals as rented as if they are hotel rooms. Our room/apt was very dated and felt like a visit to grandma's house: tired and a touch tacky. Very sleepy premises with less than attentive staff. If it weren't for the player piano there would have been no life in the lobby. Restaurant is mediocre and expensive. Not at all a dining destination. We won't return
