I booked the 2 bedroom apartment while in Montauk to celebrate my sister's bachelorette party. We all loved the Haven and the staff. We had an excellent stay and loved the amenities including the bikes, pool, coffee, beach towels and morning snacks. We also loved that there was daily cleaning service.
The hotel is near TT's, Gosmans, Tony's Deli and a 4 minute drive from Gurney's Star Island.
It was extremely expensive for what you're getting quality wise but given the area and prices of nearby motels/hotels it wasn't out of the norm.
The only feedback I would have is that they didn't send any confirmation notes prior to our stay aside from the initial email. It would have been nice to have a follow-up since it was hard to contact them following the initial email confirmation. The only other thing is that the bathrooms could use updating. The bedrooms were beautiful but our apartment bathroom did feel like it needed refreshed.

Came here with my husband, son and dog for the Columbus Day weekend and to celebrate my husband's birthday. We love Montauk and usually stay on the ocean side, but dog friendly motels are hard to come by in Montauk so we appreciated finding this place. Room was tiny but charmingly decorated Bathrobes were a nice luxury and the shampoo, conditioner and body wash were high quality. No hair dryer in my room which I had expected. No big deal although it would have been nice. I did ask the girl at the desk and she said she thought hair dryers were included but she wasn't sure. There was a single serve coffeemaker included although they ran out of coffee supplies on Sunday. There was an espresso maker available to guests but not until 8am and no regular coffee. We ended up purchasing some supplies in town to make coffee the last day. The bay beach was right across the road and was absolutely lovely. Chairs were available for guest use which was very convenient, as were paddle boards and umbrellas. There was a lovely firepit area although we didn't get to really enjoy it as it was monopolized by a large group every night. My only real complaint, which wasn't the motel's fault, was the other guests. There was a large group of family/friends and their kids renting several rooms that basically took over the whole place. They were very loud, drinking and partying in the firepit area til 1:00 am every night, kids running around, making noise, and so on. They were also not wearing masks or social distancing so we basically stayed in our room at night to avoid them. I wish people like this would rent a house together and not impose their party house vacation on the rest of us. I think if we stay here again I will call ahead to make sure there are no family reunions planned!

This is my fourth time staying at the Haven Montauk... the rooms are updated and clean! The resort also added brand new city cruiser bikes for cycling around Montauk! I will be back for a 5th stay 2024!

I had stayed here before and it was fine. This time there was no one there (we had to go across the street to another motel to check in). There was no maid service over a three day stay - no towels or bed change; no hand soap in bathroom; no one on site for help. For the price, I’d would expect a lot more, particularly off season. We won’t stay there again.

Attempted a stay last week at Haven. Photos on website are misleading. Pool emptied, not functional, and dirty. Outdated bathroom, and dirty, poor quality room, the A/C was also broken. We asked the front desk agent, Colleen, not to enter our room and she acknowledged saying "no one will enter while you are gone". While we were grabbing dinner, I received a voicemail from Colleen saying she had entered our room. When confronted, she lied and said she never said anything of the sort. We left after checking in, about an hour later, and she said she would have her manager Yamilla conduct a refund for the violation of our privacy and space. Along with the help of Expedia, we have been trying to get in touch with the hotel via email and phone. No response to any emails from either party and no call backs (when they do decide to answer).

I already had a reservation for At 20-22 and the house manager was lovely to help me with a change where I needed to arrive earlier and I booked with the hotel. We did not need to change rooms which was great but I was then charged premium rates for staying 20-22 when I already paid that reservation through Booking com. Just a mistake but a costly charge that I cannot get the hotel to reverse. Time consuming and not something you want to deal with after a work/vacation trip. We love it at Haven and will gladly return. Just a small inconvenience that I wish their central management team could have easily fixed. Instead I called, emailed the proof and got no response to the 1700.00 overcharge.

My wife and I stayed here for her birthday, and we will never stay here again. I’m shocked at how many good reviews there are for this place. For the rates they charge, on a weekday no less, what you get is a tiny motel room with a lack of upkeep. Our options were limited because we wanted a pet friendly spot (more on that later), but I expected a much better experience. We visited in the middle of a heat wave, and all you get in your room is a small wall A/C unit that doesn’t go below 72 degrees and sounds like a jet engine. The bathroom was in terrible condition, and the bed was 3 feet from the front door that had a huge gap on the bottom, so not only could you hear everything outside your room but the huge gap also allowed the heat to easily get in so the room never stayed cool during the day. The photos they provide on their website are very misleading. Feel free to compare them to the photos I took. I decided to pay extra for a Premium room instead of the Classic, thinking we’d get a nicer room and/or a view of the ocean. We got neither. The pictures on their website and other websites show an ocean view with a room that looks nothing like the room we got. The only difference between a Premium and Classic room is what level you’re on (the Premium rooms are on the second floor). My last gripe is with the pet policy. They charge you a $150 pet fee, but their policy is that you cannot leave your pet in the room alone. We’ve stayed at a number of pet friendly hotels and this is the first time we’ve come across this ridiculous policy. The fact that it was a pet friendly motel didn’t prevent some other guests from complaining to the front desk about our dog barking (a 7 lb Maltese). I would have loved to have had a conversation with whoever complained twice in one day about our dog barking. Both complaints were in the middle of the day. Why are you in your crappy room during a beautiful day? If you have a problem with dogs barking at a pet friendly hotel/motel, don’t stay at a pet friendly hotel. There’s plenty of other places to stay in Montauk that aren’t pet friendly. I highly recommend staying anywhere other than here.

Tough to Review...I had 4 hours to think about this on the way home today. Technically the hotel is good. Even the room is solid in appearance. Another reason this is rough is that I had to change the date to do a charter boat canceling last minute. They worked with me and I do appreciate that!
I arrived at 2:45pm and whileu room was ready, the kid at the desk made it seam it was an inconvenience to to check and see if it was ready. Felt odd
I get in the room and it is nice. Better then a two star review. But....,
Bathroom (shower) was not great. See pics. Also I was fishing till 11. I asked for the room to be accessible till noon so I could shower. That was a no-go. My thoughts are, for $550 a night ...it could have been better.

Stayed for three nights at The Haven. Perfect location, right across the street from the beach. Super chill and laid back. Pool area was nice with boho feeling decor and furniture. Franklin at front desk was welcoming and helpful. There are picnic tables and an outdoor grill, which many quests were taking full advantage of - fishing during the day and cooking your catch over a fire at night. Can’t beat that! Nightly fire pit with supplies to make s’mores was a nice touch. We appreciated that the hotel had paddle boards and bikes we could borrow. My kids took the paddle boards every day! Gossmans a quick walk around the corner. Room was clean and had everything you would need. Bathroom super tiny. Bathroom sink is pretty much unusable because of size and location. Mini kitchen area with fridge was convenient with kids! I did notice the outdoor seating by the fire pit was missing all of the cushions and there were several bulbs out in the string lights outside, probably just end of the season maintenance that needs to happen. WiFi rough, most of the time we did not have service but it was nice to disconnect anyway! Overall, we had a great time and would would def return! Thanks Haven!

The hotel was nice but the rooms are so small and the bathrooms are like a shoebox. We had no water pressure; I couldn’t even get all the shampoo out of my hair. The room had no useable outlets except for one in the bathroom. They provide a coffee maker but no coffee or mugs, or place to plug it in. The screen in our bathroom window was completely ripped so the window couldn’t be opened. From the other reviews maybe we just had the worst room ever but for the price you pay you’d think they could afford safes, better ACs, outlets, screen repairs, and more than 10 channels on the TV. I understand it’s Montauk but for the price you’re paying those things aren’t a lot to ask for. Also the gravel parking lot is IMPOSSIBLE to get through with a stroller.

Good morning. Speaking on our room it had only a small fridge and freezer. No microwave but I believe a coffee maker (sorry I’m not sure). We walked for our am coffees to goldbergs around the corner which was a 2-minute walk. Hope this helps

I definitely recommend the 2nd floor as we heard a lot of noise from the people above us and when we asked them to be quiet, they ignored our request. Since the Haven staff leave in the evenings, there was no one to help us.
Yes, we are very kid friendly. we have children's picinic tables, complimentary cookies, a fun pool and a great child friendly dock nearby. I have two small kids myself, so little pieces of them are everywhere :)
There are more places to choose from in the Montauk area.
