My husband and I were super excited to get away and recharge. We stayed at the North Cottage which was lovely. Beautiful views, very clean and wood burning fireplace. Nice basket of coffee, tea, hot chocolate and an in cabin water cooler. Now for the not great part. Cabin had no firewood, which was ok as they restocked the following morning. Breakfast was good, but the service so so. Our order was not complete when our food came and when we tried to order 2 extra muffins we were told there were none. We asked if we could pay for an additional meal and we were told there was not enough. We had to ask several times for a coffee refill. Now the best part, we were booked for dinner, which I made in September, and decided we wanted to do take out. The girl at reception was lovely and said this would not be a problem but to call early with our order, so we cancelled our reservation. Well we called and were told no take out! I called reception back and they did rectify by allowing us our food to take out, but wow!!!! If not we would have given up our only on site dinner option with no take out! Very disappointing considering the rates to stay. We had heard such great things. If you stay just beware, could be a bumpy road......Customer service should be priority......

A very nice late lunch at Henrys outside in a tent. Beautiful grounds including a farm area with llamas and donkyd. Hudson River visible from walking path. Recommend for a nice day in the country with family or friends

We had a fantastic four bedroom/four full baths cabin with a kitchen, sitting room, outdoor grill and porch. Absolutely the best, most comfortable stay ever! And the spa treatments, though necessarily limited, were great. Have the Raindrop. It's very special . We cannot wait to go back!

My daughter and I went for a weekend mother/daughter getaway. We expected some changes to the Inn due to Covid-19. First let me say the property is beautiful. We took some very leisurely and peaceful walks. When we arrived at the gate, there was a message to call a particular number and extension and the gate would be open. No one answered the phone so I squeeze past the gate to let the reception desk know we had arrived. The gate then opened for us. Upon entering the reception area, we were asked which carriage house we were supposed to stay in, as their computer had gone down for 3 weeks and they lost some of their reservations. Fortunately, our carriage house was still available. Due to Covid, the rooms in the main building are closed. We found the room clean but quirky. We did not expect cleaning service during our stay, which was fine, although we needed to ask for more towels and toilet paper while at the inn. I would recommend 3 things. The phone in the room is fine, but it does not directly connect to the main reception area. This is a problem. Also, right outside our room there was an accumulation of leaves and dirt that made the area a bit unsightly. In addition, ducks pass by the area and leave their "mess" for lack of a better word. This should be cleaned up everyday and was not attended to at all. "Tea" in the afternoon was basically take out. I had to ask if there were any cookies or something to eat with my coffee. There was some disconnect here. Dinner at Henry's at the Farm was really good. Outdoor dining suits me just fine. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The pool was under construction and there was a makeshift spa, which was ok. No heated beds and the room was cold. The massage therapist was pretty good. All in all our trip was a good one with a few glitches. I would like to come back when life is "back to normal."

I really wanted to give this an AMAZING review but…. We had so many problems. Spoke with the manager. She gave me her card and offered me assistance for future stays. I have since emailed multiple times and called. I have left messages with the front desk and on her phone. It’s been a month and I have not heard back. The front desk said that they’re behind on checking emails. But a month behind? And are there that many phone messages that a whole month can go by? We book the North Cottage for 4 girls. Yet only two towels. They said someone would be at the front desk 24 hours. So we went there and it was empty. There was a number to call, which we did but no answer. Left a message. Didn’t get towels until the next morning… We had to use the robes as towels. On one of the beds, there was no sheet between the duvet and the bed. How does something like that get missed? We used the outside sheet for the night, but still. No shampoo, only conditioner and shower gel. The next morning, we went to the front desk with the list of things missing. She said she’d get it right away. We said we were going for a walk and would pick it up on the way back. However when we went back, it wasn’t ready. And she forgot what she was supposed to get. Um, what happened to basic customer service, like, write it down?! This is my favorite problem. We’re staying at a sanctuary. Where they help animals. I asked for a vegan breakfast and I got sautéed spinach with tomato. Which is perfectly fine. However it was only two forks full. How is that supposed to satisfy anyone? If that’s all they had, then give me an actual serving. Oh and I think hummus. I think they included hummus but no bread. Am I supposed to eat the hummus with a spoon? Last I checked, people don’t eat hummus plain. Throw a carrot or something in there. Their excuse was that they didn’t have any vegan options. This is a sanctuary an 1 ½ from NYC. I can’t be the only vegan that’s visited. What about bread and peanut butter? Oatmeal? Fruit? It’s really not that difficult. The chef did make it up to me the next day. Made a great breakfast burrito with a note. However, I don’t understand how there are no readily vegan options in the first place. If that list wasn’t enough, dishwasher leaked, back door doesn’t open easily and the light fixture fell from the wall. Anyway, I initially hoped to write a wonderful review. Saying despite all our problems here, the manager took care of everything but is NOT the case. I mean, is there even a manager? What is happening over at Buttermilk Falls Inn? For $800 a night, it’d be nice to have basic service like sheets and towels. What a joke of a business.
