This is a beautiful older (well kept) home on a spectacular piece of property overlooking the Hudson. Gorgeous front porch was great place to do a little early morning work, quiet, splendid view and hot coffee. Can imagine lounging away an afternoon with some wine on the lawn. Hosts are wonderful, know the local area well and seem to have... More

We had a wonderful one-night stay at the River Hill b/b, cannot speak highly enough about the property. The location is really picturesque -- great views of the Hudson River and surrounding areas, and in a small quiet village. It's a good jumping-off point for Hudson (1 hr north) or Beacon (1 hr south), and points between. We stayed in... More

My wife, 6-month-old daughter and I stayed here for a wedding in Poughkeepsie. Ellen was one of the few B&B owners who would accept a young child, for which we were very grateful. Right off the bat, we were impressed by the interior of the house and our room. We had a great, wide window that looked out over the... More

We stayed with Ellen for 2 nights in the Victorian Room. Wonderful visit and really liked our stay at the B&B. The room was tastefully done, bed very comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The ensuite bathroom also was nice and had everything we needed in it. The B&B was a fully restored Victorian building and the sitting rooms are beautiful. Great... More

We stayed overnight here on our way north. Very nice home with an absolutely gorgeous view of the Hudson. Unfortunately you have to choose between a room with a view and a room with its own bathroom, but the rooms are all comfortable and clean. Delicious breakfast and friendly host. Highly recommend this B&B.

An ideal stopover for trips up the Hudson valley, close to Hyde Park and its historical attractions, the Hudson River Walkway. and the Culinary Institute of America where we had a delicious dinner. Hostess Ellen was most welcoming and helpful. Cooked breakfast was delicious. The room was very comfortable and had a spectacular view of the river.

An amazing place to relax and escape from the busy city. The house is beautiful and full of history, the view breath taking, the house brought back childhood memories. But what I loved the most is how Ellen just makes you feel at home. I really felt like I was at home. Went up for one night and I ended... More

When I imagine a picturesque, romantic, cozy b and b, this is exactly what it looks like. Ellen's home is lovely and comfy and she went out of her way to accommodate my food allergies for breakfasts. We could not have been happier, or felt more at home.

Looked for a B&B for a quick decompression get-away with my wife in the Hudson Valley. The River Hill B&B fit the bill perfectly. The house is charming, sitting on hilltop on the banks of the Hudson. The view is spectacular, and well worth the stay in and of itself. The house is charming, accessed by a winding drive up... More

We had two wonderful nights here. It felt like a privilege to stay here. Ellen makes this place a home away from home. She's so friendly and helpful. The room was great, East lake. The breakfast was delicious and the view is great and, excluding the trains, peaceful. We were with friends there who loved it, too. Afterwards we stayed... More
