While situated close to NYC, the Millbrook Country House is the perfect place to decompress and feel far removed from the city's hectic pace. Our congenial hosts Lorraine and Giancarlo were quick to make my friends and I feel welcome and at home. Breakfast was delicious! The bed - divinely comfortable! The garden - perfect for an afternoon of reading... More

We stayed with Lorraine and Giancarlo for a long weekend last fall and they were wonderful hosts—we enjoyed great food, their beautiful garden, and a lovely room decorated with antique furniture. Lots of great books, too! Their home is convenient to both downtown Millbrook and local attractions (we particularly enjoyed Innisfree). Can't imagine staying anywhere else in the area.

Keep reading this review if you want your vacation to be serene, relaxing, joyful and totally memorable. All of this happens when you stay at the Millbrook Country House. The Innkeepers Lorraine and GianCarlo are a wonderful couple, who truly welcome you to their antique filled Inn. Early each morning I would stop in the country kitchen where GianCarlo had... More

My boyfriend and I were looking for an escape from the city for the weekend and knew we wanted to go clay shooting at Orvis and wine tastings at a few vineyards. We asked friends from the area where we should stay and they recommended Millbrook Country House, and we were not disappointed! The room was perfect and the service... More

A friend recently treated a group of us to a weekend stay at the Millbrook Country House and I can't imagine a more perfect setting for six friends to catch up and relax. The place is run by two foodies-- one of whom used to be an editor at Gourmet-- so the food was on an equal par with the... More

My husband and I just returned from a most delightful stay at the Millbrook Country House, where our hosts Lorraine and Gian Carlo made us feel so welcome and fed us so well. The food was outstanding--I had emailed ahead and told Lorraine that my husband had special dietary needs, and she accommodated that request with the most delicious entry... More

We had a wonderful stay with Giancarlo and Lorraine. They were charming, gracious hosts who made us feel very welcome and were very attentive to our needs. The breakfasts were delightful: creative, fresh food with a European flavor. We stayed in the Luigi Fillipo room, which I believe is their largest: the room was great, bed very comfortable, bathroom that... More

We recently had the pleasure of being guests at the superbly hosted Millbrook Country Inn while visiting family and old friends in the Mid-Hudson Valley. Accommodations, tea and breakfasts were first rate, and we enjoyed and appreciated the hosts' conversations, dining suggestions, homemade preserves, cats and the mid-April snowstorm. We'll definitely stay here again during our next spring visit. We'd... More

The playwright William Congreve famously warned us about the fury of a woman scorned, esp. one with an attack mouse, I will add. This fit of pique posing as a review makes me think there should be a subset of Murphy’s Law: “If something is about to go wrong, you probably saw it coming.” In numerous emails Vidushi asked that... Everything is very nice here. The rooms are of a nice size and nicely appointed. We had a room that did not have a private bathroom. The breakfast was rather meager. I didn't care for my personal effects being moved. I had placed things in a certain way, I didn't expect that anything would be disturbed other than someone making... More

All four of our rooms have private bathrooms; this person must have stayed in the Varigotti Room, however, the bathroom for which is right next door to the guest room, only a few steps away and for that room only. This is clearly stated on the website. Our twice-daily housekeeping is fairly thorough, and if we find clothing strewn about... More
