I actually stay at this hotel quite (everywhere from a day to a week) often because my company is headquartered right down the street. That being said, I would, and have, purposely stayed here even if it were not work related. There have been a couple of things that have annoyed me here and there (primarily the noise in the hallway), but I really only have 2 complaints: 1.) the smell of roses as you walk into the lobby is almost over powering. It is a very large, open area, but the fragrance that is pumped into the area only appears to be from one area, so while in that area, you can hardly breathe. 2.) I feel for such a large hotel, there should be more snacks / drinks available for purchase in the lobby "store". There is a very limited selection. Having said that, everything else about the hotel is exactly what someone like me looks for in staying in a hotel. The front desk, valet, and room service attendants, go above and beyond to serve. EVERY time I am there. The distance to JFK, NYC, Long Island Rail and the ferrys (Port Jefferson and Orient Point) are very reasonable. Keep in mind where you are, there will always be traffic of some sort. The food is very good and always delivered in a reasonable amount of time with a friendly smile and "how is everything with your stay" and or "can I get you anything". If you do not want to eat at the hotel, you are very close to shopping and restaurants. There is a shuttle bus that will take you various places (I'm not sure where exactly, but know it does not go to the airport) and taxis / uber are readily available. Also, although I have yet to have the opportunity to try any of them, head north and there are a plethora of vineyards, wineries and breweries. The rooms are always spotless, the beds and linens are extremely comfortable, and there are always plenty of towels. I also, have very bad allergies and often request a foam pillow. When one is not in the room, one will immediately be brought up with a quick phone call or stop at the front desk. I have never had an issue with the WiFi in any of the rooms I have stayed in. I would definitely recommend and will be staying here again.

When our flight out of JFK was cancelled in the middle of the night (after having sat on the runway for HOURS with an exhausted 4-year-old) we were eventually put up at the Melville Marriott by our airline. We arrived exhausted and overwhelmed, but the amazing service and care we received immediately put us at ease. The hotel manager, Sana, and her friendly and competent staff did everything they could to make our stay comfortable and easy. The rooms were clean, modern, spacious and comfortable. The restaurant food was delicious. And the access to swimming pool and gym were added perks. As a parent, it was so appreciated how friendly and accommodating the staff was with our child. We rarely find ourselves in this area, but if we ever return again, 100% we will stay here again!

Norwegian Air cancelled our flight and we stayed two nights at Melville Marriott. After av sad start on our vacation, the staff at the Marriott hotel on Long Island made it all right again, due to excellent service and understanding of our situation right away. And a special thanks to Michelle and Sanaa at the front desk, who made our stay fantastic! Thank you!

Rooms are good and pool was excellent in the hotel but the restaurant and bar are together meaning you get far too much noise in there. This needs to be apart if you want dinner without a load of drunk people shouting

Beautifully renovated. Greet bar. Overall a great stay . Staff was friendly and courteous. Room was clean and beautifully done !! Shower design was amazing . We would definitely stay here again . Well done !!
