As the only b&b built on the side of one of Sedona's famous red rocks, The Penrose provides commanding views from every room of some of the formations that make Sedona a top-rated tourist attraction. Guests also enjoy gourmet breakfasts, flat-screen tvs, double jacuzzis or double showers, light airy rooms with uncluttered decor, and access to free drinks and snacks 24/7. For reservations of 5 or more nights, or 3 or more rooms, we require a deposit of one-half the total charge upon making a reservation.

We certainly were lucky to have reserved a room at the Penrose BNB. We found Sedona to be incredibly crowded and touristic. But Oak Creek, just 3 miles away from downtown Sedona, is very different. It’s breathtakingly beautiful but without all the touristic chaos. The Penrose was perhaps the nicest BnB that we have ever visited. Our room was cozy and charming. The bed was super comfy, the bathroom had everything we needed. And the view from our balcony was beyond amazing, just gorgeous. The breakfast was delicious. It certainly had a southwest-y influence, new things to taste and enjoy. All the staff were as helpful as could be. Many thanks to Melissa who did a load of laundry for us—- no charge! If you’re looking for an elegant and restful place to stay in the Sedona area, this is it. It’s the real deal!

Wow!!! Stunning setting with amazing views of the various red rock formations right from our bed! Warm and friendly welcome by one of the owners. Rooms are very comfortable with all the necessary amenities. Lovely breakfast both mornings served by friendly (but not intrusive) Ellen and Wendy who gave recommendations on what to visit etc. Plan well in advance to get a room here! Definitely worth the extra effort.

Our stay at the Penrose was overall an exceptional experience. The staff is so accommodating and friendly. We looked forward to seeing Melissa every morning…what a beautiful human! The only negative was our heater didn’t work but extra blankets were available. Breakfast was great but if it is something you don’t want they will totally make something for you. Snacks and drinks were available all day and night. View was amazing as was the star gazing!

We were passing through and stayed on night here. If we ever go back to Sedona we will definitely consider staying here again. Our room was spacious and with a wonderful (although small) balcony and view (we were on the second floor, east side). The night was quiet and the morning breakfast was so good. We enjoyed sitting out on the terrace (we were there in September; summer is likely too hot for outdoor seating). My only critique is that we got there after dark (due to our day's traveling schedule) and were a little uncertain where to enter. We also had to call the place to get in as knocking didn't seem to work.

We stayed here one night in the Coconino room. The staff was very friendly. Views from the room's patio were amazing and the breakfast on the patio was delicious making this stay well worth the price. Only con is the pillows.

We stayed 5 nights at this cozy, clean, well situated b&b. Each morning we were delighted to have a different spectacular breakfast. Direct views of Bell and Castle Rock from our room and patio for breakfast. The staff was always cheerful and helpful in every way. This B&B is in a quiet neighborhood tucked up against red rock outcrop with ample private and spacious parking. We can't think of a negative. If we go back to Sedona, we will stay here.

This was a fabulous place from which to see Sedona! Outside the hustle and traffic of town, close to trails, fabulous location and views, and truly gourmet breakfasts on a wonderful terrace. Great and helpful supply of snacks and beverages for hiking, coffee and tea 24/7 as well. Avoid the crowds and stay at this lovely oasis among the red rocks!

The views are just gorgeous! Our room was the Mariposa and was more than we could ask for. Clean, comfy bedding, magnificent views, and the best hospitality. The breakfast staff were efficient, super friendly, and the dishes were delicious. We especially liked that the bnb is a short drive to town. We prefer being a little outside of the busyness. I can’t say enough about the location, hospitality, and views. Oh, and you have a surprise treat nightly;)

Stayed here 3 nights in June. Overall a nice experience, but there were some exceptions. We glanced the owners a couple times. Engaged with Whitney & Christie once, but felt they really weren't interested in conversation. I know some people prefer a B&B for the quiet privacy it affords but I enjoy meeting people and I'd hope my hosts would want to learn about their guests. I understand the concerns with COVID, but we were all wearing masks and one can have a conversation while standing 4-6 feet apart. They did have a fantastic system for getting room items replenished (leave the basket from your room outside your door with dirty towels and they will replenish). Our rooms were always locked and no one entered while we were there except myself and husband. Our friend's room had some issue with the shower which didn't get resolved; they were able to use the shower but was a bit inconvenient. The breakfast staff was lovely...one sweet woman who was very engaging and worked hard to get what we need. However, we (there were 2 couples in my traveling party) all felt breakfast was "eh". It was adequate but nothing to write home about. The same goes for the nightly snacks left out for guests. The food could use a little pizzaz. The coffee is extremely dark roast, not to my liking, so was disappointed in that so I enjoyed the orange juice and wonderful English Breakfast tea. The traffic getting to and from downtown Sedona was awful at times. Would I stay here again? Maybe. There were a few billing issues when we got home but they were very good about taking care of it right away.
