It isn’t the high-adventure Adirondack experience; but that shouldn’t stop you from staying here. The lobby’s the only part of the hotel that looks like a big log cabin or ski lodge. The rest of The Edge Hotel looks like any chain hotel (even though it’s not). But they do all the fundamentals well enough: the rooms are clean, the mattress is comfortable, the staff is pleasant and helpful, the coffee’s great, and the price is right. If you are coming in wintertime, you’ll find snowmobiling trails, a short ski trail, and a nice restaurant (Boondocks) right around the parking lot. Not quite a full-on winter resort, but definitely a nice stay for a weekend. Special kudos, by the way, to their snow removal service, who came in the morning after the big snowstorm and seemed to get the entire parking lot cleared in like, one hour. How did they do it that fast. A modest hotel that gives a moderately-good experience; nothing wrong with that.…
The hotel is very well decorated with a woodsy theme, some buck mounts over the fireplace and all, good wifi and all that, my only complaint is that the bed was like sleeping on a sheet of plywood. Other than that is was nice. The boondocks across the driveway is amazing with a nice creek going through the dining room with a tree at the center, even if you don't stay at this hotel, you've gotta check out the restaurant!
We stayed at the Edge Hotel in New York City 5 days because our son was in the hospital. Stefan at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great. All the staff were courteous and friendly. Every place I went in the hotel was clean and inviting. I would recommend anyone having to stay in New York City stay here.
Very friendly service. Very clean. A welcoming lobby with a fireplace with local decorative art. The Boondocks restaurant is just a short walk up the driveway. There is plenty of parking, even when the snowmobile trailers are there. I will be staying again in the near future.
Stayed for two nights to go snowmobiling in the area. Was not sure what to expect when we arrived, but we were very happy with our accommodations. Rooms were very nice and clean, my wife and I own a hotel, so there are certain things I look at that most people don't, one being the piping to the toilet. It shined like it was brand new, so those housekeepers are really doing a great job. Front desk staff were very nice and helpful, We will be back.
Very polite staff, super clean hotel and room. I used the "pet friendly" room since I was in town for vet service. It did not smell at all. It was clean, everything worked in the room and the TV had many channels. The lobby was rustic and very neat with wooden staircases on each side as you walked in from outside. They offer a continental breakfast and had shirts, syrup, and travel mugs for sale in the lobby. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate was available 24/7 in the lobby. They even had an ice cream freezer like you would see in a small store!
Hotel was clean however pricey for the location. It was a very cold night, Temperatures in single digits. The heater in the room would only go up to a certain temperature and then it starts blowing cool air to regulate the temperature I assume so there heat bill isnt so high. On such a cold night it was annoying. Mentioned it to the desk and they just basically ignored it. Will definitely not be back in the winter months anyway.
Great staff and the room was great. They were close to things you would need. They also have a bar and restaurant on site, just a short walk. It's a very small area but they will help with anything you need to find. A great place!
I stayed here this past weekend with my two young children. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. I had booked a deluxe suite (we were in town for a few days due to a wedding); the room was very large and one of the cleanest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish all while located in a beautiful area. I highly recommend it.
The Edge Hotel is a nice well maintained hotel in a very rural but beautiful area of Upstate NY. It has a nice lobby area and decent sized rooms. The staff is pleasant and helpful. I do have two negative comments/suggestions for improvement. First, their breakfast selections are pretty limited. Simply adding banannas and yogurt would definitely help. Second, the hotel did not have a functioning computer/business center. It had space for two desktop computers, but the towers were gone. I asked staff about them and they said both had viruses. I needed to catch up on some work and work email, but could not due to this issue. Had I known of this issue, I would have brought a laptop. If a business center is stated in the hotel description, it should always be functioning. Even with these two issues, I would stay here again. In fact, this was my second stay here in the past several years. …
