My boyfriend and I came to Old Forge for what we thought was going to be a snowmobiling adventure. For years he had been telling me about the Stillwater Hotel and how much fun it is from the amazing views to how awesome it is to just ride the reservoir to get there. We couldn't wait but guess what...NO SNOW!! At first we were disappointed but he was determined to take me here. So we braved the windy dirt road to get there by car. Due to the lack of snow there was also a lack of other guests but that didn't matter one bit. Literally from the moment we arrived we were greeted with the warmth and charm he remembered. Marian and Joe, the owners took amazing care of us. The dinner was delicious right down to the homemade pickled beets! We talked and laughed with them like we…
I stayed at stillwater with my father, and I couldnt ask for a better time! The hospitality was about phenomenal! Its one of those few places on the earth where everyone is absolutely kind and wonderful! Its a great place to have a beer at the bar or enjoy a great piece of prime rib in front of the window looking out at the reservoir! Marian and Joe are wonderful people and make you really feel welcomed along with all of they great employees!
I spent MLK weekend 2016 at the Stillwater Hotel and restaurant. The owners and staff are very welcoming, accommodating and a pleasure to be around. Greatly enjoyed my stay and the food. Beautiful area and great people. Would recommend and will be back. Thanks.
My wife and I stayed there Labor Day weekend. Innkeepers Marion and Joe were delightful hosts and most welcoming. The food was great and our room was very neat and clean. The deck overlooking the Stillwater Reservoir is a wonderful place to eat and relax.. I know a few other businesses that could take lessons from these innkeepers. The customer service is first rate.

While the rooms maybe small, the hospitality is big. Marian & Joe Romano are the most wonderful people we have met in a long long time. From the moment we got there we felt right at home. Their down to earth personalities, their excellent food and drinks and delightful staff make you feel welcome from the very moment you walk into the door. My wife and I stayed there in July of 2015 and had a very enjoyable, relaxing and entertaining time. A bonus to all this is the multitude of humming birds that will also delight you as you dine inside or outside on the patio. I highly recommend the Stillwater Hotel and…
