We spent a night in the hotel and had a great dinner AND breakfast. Marian prepared us some wonderful food and was super helpful during our short stay. Be sure to take the boat ride out to Beaver River as that is also a great place. Can't wait to go back next year. Great little town for the family or couples looking for somewhere quiet and relaxed.
The peaceful beauty of magnificent Lake Stillwater spreads out below the deck of the restaurant, where friendly and attentive staff serves delicious gourmet dishes (duck, halibut, sea bass), next to expectedly prepared traditional fare, both American and German (at its best): Marian's light cucumber salad reminded me of the home cooking of my childhood. The wine and beer lists are outstanding, especially out here in the remote wilderness of the Adirondacks, at the end of a country road, which is unpaved for several of the final miles. Beautiful location, simple but comfortable rooms, fantastic food and friendly folks -- the owners of this cozy spot will make you feel right at home. There's nothing like having a glass of wine and apple crisp on the deck at sundown while the kids try to coax a hummingbird into landing on their fingers. I hope to make it back soon.
Homey inn at a beautiful setting. Owners are very friendly, feels like you're visiting family. Tasty food, and very relaxed atmosphere. Popular with locals and out of town visitors too. Everything you need for a restful stay.
The place is just beautiful!!! Joe and Marian are your hosts, and they immediately make you feel like family!!! The food in the restaurant is to die for, soooo good!!! The hotel is nice and quaint, nice beds and good atmosphere. So take yourself there and have a great time!!!
