The owners were flexible with my arrival and departure schedule. I was greeted at the door upon my 10pm arrival on a Sunday evening, given a tour, and he carried my suitcase up to my room. The landscaping and exterior were quite inviting. This is a beautifully restored treasure. The bedroom was very comfortable & tastefully decorated. Very clean. My only regret is that I did not have time to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and engage in longer conversation with the owners. The breakfast was amazing! I never had such light moist pancakes. This definitely beats the traditional hotel with continental breakfast the answer to the question "is this good for families?" here in the review is quite dependent upon the family and if the children are given the expectation to respect quiet time, privacy of other guests & the owner's space, have boundaries (calming activities indoors & using the large lawn for running & tumbling outside) & able to dine with manners at a table.…
My wife and I stayed in the Judge's Quarters B&B for two nights, and we cannot recommend it highly enough. Tim and Renee were phenomenal hosts. Their historic home (220 years old!) is beautifully restored and decorated; the bedrooms and bathrooms are large, clean, and comfortable, and the FOOD! Renee's breakfasts were among the best we have ever had--just make sure you save room for "bressert." Lowville is a great home base for visiting the towns and sites of the area, and Tim and Renee made some helpful recommendations as well. If you are ever in Lowville, do not pass up the chance to stay at Judge's Quarters!
The food is top-notch, home-cooked and made from scratch. Wow, one of the best breakfasts I've ever eaten! The place itself is spotless, rooms are extremely comfortable and well-decorated. Amazingly friendly & helpful hosts too!
The restoration of this beautifully appointed historic 1798 home of the first judge in Lewis County NY could easily become a keenly interesting documentary on HGTV. But wait there's more. MUCH more. The 9-time winner of the annual Cream Cheese festival's recipe contest will serve you a breakfast beyond your wildest hopes and dreams. If you enjoy B&B experiences, DO NOT miss this one with owners Tim and Renee Widrick. Martha Stewart and Rachael Ray have NOTHING over this most hospitable couple.
We stayed in the Stowe room, extremely clean and beautiful home. Owners were very warm welcoming and friendly. Fantastic breakfast. Will be going back 100% ! Best bed and breakfast, well worth the money.
