Detailed Reviews
Due to the pandemic, we couldn't stay with family like we usually do. We knew Motel Long Lake had a great reputation from other relatives having stayed there in the past. There were no motel rooms left, so we booked the only cottage that was left, which was the new (2017) mobile home. It was more than we wanted to spend, but we were willing to splurge this year to be able to make our yearly trek to the ADKS.
Even though a mobile home isn't as "Adirondack" in feel as the cabins, it was incredibly clean and had everything we needed for the week. We spend most of our time at the lake anyway, so we just needed a safe, clean, comfortable place to stay. The owners are very nice, respond quickly to inquiries, and clearly work hard to maintain the property. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to others!

This place is such a great, classic motel right on the lake. Multiple canoes and kayaks are there for you to paddle. Hammocks, ping pong, pool table, and charming cottages only add to the Adirondack vibe. Best of all, I accidentally booked our cottage for the wrong dates, so I called on Sunday at about 5:00 p.m, and spoke with the owner, who rapidly corrected my mistake, and sent someone over to clean the cabin...ON A SUNDAY at dinnertime. I felt so bad, but they handled MY mistake like it was no problem. We will definitely be back, and I promise to book for the right dates!

We visited for five nights in August after booking in March. It was wonderful to have a fun, COVID-safe vacation for a family of four with school-aged children. Our cottage was clean, comfortable and well-equipped for making meals. The deck overlooked the lake and we enjoyed morning coffee and nightly dinners while watching the water and mountains. Other guests were friendly and sociable, and our kids met up with playmates at the beach each day. We took advantage of the canoes, kayaks, and easy walk to the town for souvenir shopping and ice cream. The kids are already asking to return next summer!

When we first arrived it was obvious that providing a clean cabin wasn't priority, the dinning table had what looked like pencil shavings all over the table as well as all over the floor and the trash can lid. I told the owner as she was looking into a matter within our cabin in which the cables were all disconnected from the TV mind you I am paying 2200.00 for 6 day stay, she didn't seem to care the place was dirty. Now paranoid has any surfaces been sanitized. day 4 the weather warmed up, and the foul smell of death was filling the corner of the living room, and I spent the entire day killing flies I'm not kidding I must have killed 50 flies they just kept appearing. In the upstairs bedrooms one of the rooms had the smell of body odor
I was completely turned off by this visit and being a return customer of LLM&C, I don't think I will ever go back. another disturbing addition is I witnessed the owners son use one of the cabins for a party night with his lady friend or wife, anyway that is not professional, makes me wonder if those sheets were washed, is that why I smelled body odor in one of the bedrooms of my cabin, was that too used as one night stay over by family. Another complaint is the cabin I stayed in was missing a section of siding so it looked run down, again for 2200.00 dollars one would expect better imagine taking pics of your cabin for friends to look at ha !
Maybe a offer of a modest discount would have been nice, for the missing siding and the dirty cabin instead I was ignored. They won't be seeing my money anymore. I suggest bring your own linens because you just don't know who slept in the bed the night before.

Thank you for providing your feedback and making us aware of these issues. Our number one goal in this family business is to make sure that our guests enjoy their time here and we go out of our way to help make that a reality. We have 16 cottages and 8 motel rooms and maintenance as well as cleaning is a very big part of our daily routine, attested by the high number of excellent reviews. Unfortunately sometimes projects do turn out to be bigger than expected, take longer to finish and we choose not to disrupt our guests stay with on-going construction work All cottages get cleaned and sanitized, no matter who stays in them. Family members do sometimes stay in our cottages and parties after quiet hours are not allowed by anyone. We provide our guests with numerous ways to contact us and whenever an issue does come up we are always here to assist. We wish these issues are reported and we are given the opportunity to address them before a review is posted. Unfortunately, sometimes a disgruntled guest will chooses to take out their frustrations or bad day with a negative online review instead of giving us an opportunity to correct any issues during their stay. We are truly sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us.

We have stayed there many times over the years and have enjoyed our stay . Unfortunately, we see a trend to not accept reservations on a first come first serve basis. Sadly , the owners have moved to refusing to accept reservation until certain , “ special “ customers are accommodated .
This is a poor business practice that will eventually catch up with you . You have forgot your beginnings and the loyal customers who do not happen to live Downstate.
You allow these groups to book , almost the entire place , monopolizing the beach and all
the water craft you supposedly make available for everyone’s use.
Will be looking elsewhere and encourage all others to do the same . Lots of options on Long Lake and with people who allow you to book without waiting for a certain client group to check their calendars first .
Shame on you. Thought you were better than that .

"The Roost" as our home base made for an exceptional vacation in Long Lake. Our lodge was very clean and the beds comfortable. The owner-manager worked to help all of us feel welcome. The beautiful site on the lake delivered amazing sunsets and campfires on the beach.
The Roost living room and kitchen were a little tight for two couples. However the porch was nice and large for communal meals. Due to the cooler temperatures we use the indoor table more often.
"Big Ledge", The Lodge next door to ours in which our brother and his family stayed, was much bigger but cost twice as much. Stay there if you have four or eight people.
We would definitely stay here again.
Our local hikes included goodman mountain and blue mountain, both of them moderate yet challenging treks which we greatly enjoyed.
We also kayak twice on Long Lake and once on blue mountain Lake both of which are jewels.
The dinner at Adirondack hotel exceeded our expectations. Excellent food and service.

I picked the location purely for the view of the lake. We enjoyed the stay and the cabin is very nice. There cabins are do not have housekeeping and there is a note saying if they have to clean there will be a charge which I find slightly offensive after the price of the cabin. The stay was nice but I would suggest shopping around before committing.

We appreciate your feedback and are glad you enjoyed your stay. Please understand that our prices reflect what it takes to operate this establishment and the owners work very hard alongside the staff to provide highly rated accommodations. While our price point is not for everyone, we are always happy to see our guests patronize other lodging businesses in the area.

We rented 3 cabins for a week, and found Motel Long Lake to be ideal for our multi generational family vacation. It proved to be exactly what we were seeking…..family togetherness and wholesome, outdoor, unplugged fun. It was vaguely and happily reminiscent of my long ago days at Girl Scout camp in upstate New York…swimming and boating on the lake, cabins connected by shale paths, evening “campfires” (fire pits provided), and nearby hiking of varying difficulty levels.
We thoroughly appreciated all of our cabins being very CLEAN upon arrival as this is a MUST for our group! It was readily apparent that careful thought had been given to provide appropriate furnishings, housekeeping supplies, and recreational opportunities. With ages in our group ranging from 5 years to 70 years, there was fun for all including access to canoes, kayaks, ping pong table, playground and even kids’ sand toys.
Communication with the owners prior to our arrival was excellent and very helpful. As guests on the property, we found the owners to be attentive and available to help in any way they could.
This was our first stay at Motel Long Lake, but it won’t be our last!

+1
Long Lake Motel is great for a family gathering! We were a large multiage group and this was a perfect accessible, sweet option for our gathering. Pros: comfy beds and sheets, hot showers, mini coffee makers, private porches, heat for cold nights, texting service with staff to request more coffee packs, sugar, towels, toilet paper, etc., plus a pavilion with ping-ping and pool, free kayaks onsite, dock with ADK chairs, and chaise lounges on beach. Slight drawbacks: some wear and tear (Motel sign missing a neon bulb), rooms a little musty, sort of old school motel vibe, only one cushion on chair in front of room. However, for all it offered, great value! Also could walk to grocery, general store, icecream, and burger joint!

This was our fifth stay at Motel Long Lake over the last eight years. We always stay at the Sunset cabin, which offers all that we need and a lovely view of the lake. The cabin is well appointed, perfect for two or a small family. The property is always clean and well maintained. We love the owners. They always make us feel welcome and it’s clear that they put a lot of care and thought into the property. The town offers all that we might need and the lake itself is great for kayaking. We will always plan to return.

Hello, thank you for your interest. All of our pet-friendly units are already booked for this period.
Apologies for not answering this inquiry. Hope to see you here again
We have stayed in the motel proper and a cabin. The cabins are surrounded by trees and are well shaded, but there are only ceiling or room fans there. I am not sure about air conditioners in the motel rooms. I do remember a large ceiling fan and a wall mounted room heating unit which we had to use because it was chilly! I would contact the motel and ask, every time we have spoken with someone there, they have been very helpful.
Hi Bill and Kathy,
Thank you very much for your interest in our property. For the dates that you are interested in we have one large 8-person cottage left. If you would like to find out more about this cottage, please feel free to email us or call us at 518-624-2613
Thank you
Kinga
Hi Louise,
I remember our conversation and you are on the waiting list. However, a cancellation is very unlikely since all our guests paid their deposits. I have your email and phone number and if anything changes, I will definitely let you know.
