The hotel was easy to find ad in a great location to get the metro and to get to downtown NYC. Hopefully stay at this hotel. The only thing would of like is a cook breakfast. But hope to stay again and look forward to my visits to NYC, or and thanks to the friendly staff for there hard work.

I stay at this hotel every week, Sunday-Thursday. The property is clean and very satisfactory. Good value for NYC. Very friendly, helpful and professional service. This applies to all of the staff, whether front desk, housekeeping, maintenance or cafe. For example, this week I had a request pertaining to my reservations for the coming 2 weeks. Tryphena and Joslyn at the front desk were exceptional in accomodating this. They went beyond expectations. I am always warmly welcomed and greeted anytime I encounter staff, even in the elevator! The Managers are very interactive and concerned that I have a great experience. I recommend this hotel if travelling to Queens.

I have been a frequent traveler to the Long Island City area for many years. This hotel is about four years old now, and I have stayed here for at least three years on every trip. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Staff — The front desk staff is superbly helpful. Have you lost something? Need a nice place to eat? How about a dive bar nearby? They can help you out, giving good recommendations, and having decent knowledge of the surrounding area. There is no concierge here - but if you want to know of something to do in Manhattan, a show to see, or a place to go, they can help you out there as well. From directions to hot spots, the front desk staff has it all. Additionally — if you have a problem, the management here is quick to resolve any issues you have. For example, I had laundry sent out over a weekend when I had a quick return. My laundry had not returned by the time I did, and I had no clothes for work the next day. Jennifer quickly stepped in, realizing my situation, and took care of everything I needed for the next day. She even had the laundry delivered to my room when it came in! She owned the problem, found the solution, and took action to make things right. Front desk staff are supposed to be nice to you. Housekeepers... Housekeepers was to be left alone. Here, you have some of the nicest housekeepers I’ve seen in a hotel. They are always friendly, and asking if there’s anything they can do to make the stay better. Jack is my favorite. Super nice guy - always happy to be there, and always says hello to me first when I see him. Rooms - All the rooms are very similar. The main rooms are typical New York size rooms with enough space to be comfortable but not enough to throw a house party. The beds are comfortable, with either a single king or double queen option; individual air/heat in each room. All rooms that I have been in have a stand up shower, and the water handle has a temperature gauge on them so you can make sure you don’t get the water too hot for your liking. Bathrooms are decent sized for a single person, towels are well stocked and small hotel shampoo, conditioner, and lotion are provided. There is a modern work desk available with a decently comfortable chair, in room phone, and flat screen TV. The TV’s are internet capable, so you can log into your netflix and watch what you want, enjoy the complimentary HBO GO, or browse videos on YouTube. Basic cable is also included if you don’t want to bother or you want to watch the local news. All rooms have wireless internet, and three wall sockets that are USB and US-Type plug capable. CAUTION: The 7/N/W train runs directly in front of this hotel. If you are on floors 4-9, you will certainly hear the trains, especially if you are on the side facing the tracks. The “Manhattan View” side of the hotel is farthest away from the tracks, and the sound difference is about 40% quieter. If you are sensitive to sounds, you’ll want to bring ear plugs or some kind of white noise generator. (I have noticed that it is less noticeable after 11:00 PM local). RESTAURANT/BAR — THe restaurant is decent, and has a fair selection of meals. THere is a light breakfast selection in the morning and they have Starbucks coffee (but it’s not a full Starbucks). The lunch and dinner options vary from soup and salad to burgers, light bites, and pizza/flatbreads. Remember that you are in a hotel restaurant, so the prices reflect that. You’re not going to get a cheap sandwich here — but it’s not bad if you’re in a hurry. The bar has a general smattering of different liquors and appears to be mainly a beer and wine joint. They do have a limited selection of spirits here, and the pour varies depending on the person behind the counter. LOCATION — If you are staying in Long Island City, this is a great location. There are about 50 restaurants in the general area, and quite a number of neighborhood bars as well. There are few “sites to see” in Long Island City, so if you’re looking to site see in this area, you are not in the right place. BUT — if you want a room that is cheaper than Manhattan, and you don’t mind a 15 minute train ride, then this is your ticket. The hotel is located about 1000 Ft. from Queens Plaza (E, M, and R) and about three blocks from Queensboro Plaza (7, N, and W). You can pretty much get anywhere you want quickly from the trains here, either on a direct line or connecting in the City. Overall, this is a great hotel, with very friendly staff, a decent restaurant, and good location.

On my January 6-9 stay, I experienced the highest level of customer service that I have received in awhile. I could not get into someone of my electronic accounts/reports which prevented me from completing my expense reports, which were due immediately. Tryphena and Shavon, both took the time to scan each any everyone of my receipts. Tryphena first, but for some reason, they didn't come through to my email. I went back to the front desk to ask Shavon, if she could check to see if they came over? She then, actually took the time to re-scan them to me again. I'm a national trainer in the Affordable Housing Industry, and I know superior customer service when I experience it. Please acknowledge them both for going above and beyond! Marriott should be proud to have such, caring and professional staff at the front desk (client-facing).
