The Allegria Hotel garners praise for its spotless rooms and facilities, along with the professionalism and attentiveness of its staff, which many guests find enhances their experience. The prime beachfront location and beautiful decor contribute to a lively atmosphere that's highly appreciated. Just got back from a weekend stay at the Allegria. Overall it was a wonderful experience, with just a few suggested improvements. First, the location is absolutely wonderful. You are right on the boardwalk in Long Beach. Literally. The bar/restaurant opens right on to the boardwalk itself. It's great to go for a walk early in the morning, people watch, or just look at the ocean. If you're staying the hotel will provide beach amenities (chairs, towels) for you as part of the resort fee. There is also a pool on the rooftop but we didn't use it. The hotel is also easy walking distance (5 minutes) from nearby bars and restaurants on Park Ave. There's a lot of variety for eating and drinking, but JJ Coopers, Brixx and Barley, and Bright Eye Beer Co. were standouts for us.

The hotel offers valet parking, which is nice, considering....well it's Long Beach. If you're checking in on a Saturday you're probably going to be hard pressed to find nearby since EVERYONE parks on the nearby streets to go to the beach. I think valet parking for guests was $40, but if you don't feel like circling the block for 20 minutes trying to find a spot, it's nice to have the option.

The room itself was great. We didn't have an ocean view, but we did have a suite and the rooms were a very nice size. Everything felt clean (the remotes for both TVs were individually bagged) and there was a sticker on the door indicating our room had been sanitized. Bathroom was spacious (two sinks) and the water pressure in the shower was decent. My two minor complaints were that the curtains didn't really close all the way so there was some sunlight coming in to the room in the morning, and it felt like there was a bit of wasted space in the entry way...a full length mirror there would have been very appreciated. Again, these are just minor "issues."

A bigger complaint was the breakfast. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and the food was great; unfortunately the breakfast buffet was very disappointing. If you do go for breakfast, I'd skip the buffet and order off the menu. Then again, there are a lot of good restaurant options on Park Ave for brunch.

Finally, I have to give a shoutout to the staff. Andrew at the front desk is an absolute credit to the hotel, and Lauren in the bar was a fantastic bartender. Staff like that is one of the reasons we will definitely be staying again.

We booked two oceanfront king rooms @$623 a night for this past weekend. Check in was easy; the rooms were nice and AC worked quite well despite intense heat. Front desk team a bit overwhelmed on a very busy Friday afternoon, however they handled things well and continued to do so all weekend, if you were face to face with them. Just don't try calling!! Wifi was down and Verizon service is almost non-existent in the building (not their fault): no attempt was made to compensate for Wifi. Mechanical issues forced pool to close for a few hours on Sunday; was repaired by early evening.

Excellent: nice linens, refrigerator in the room, the best location, nice, small pool with very lovely attendants.

Not so great: Given the hotel's location on the boardwalk and public restaurants, it seems to be a changing station for beachgoers who are not staying there. By the end of each day the public restrooms were filthy, sand everywhere. In addition, there were people at the pool who were NOT staying at the hotel. They had free rein: took water, towels, and prime lounge chairs and umbrellas. At $600+ a night, the hotel should give preference to people who are staying there: there was no checking of room keys, beach passes etc. I resent paying so much money and not being guaranteed a lounge/umbrella because of day trippers. You need to find a way to control this.

Once we enquired, they told us that the rooms are cleaned every other day. This means for a Friday check-in, your room is again cleaned on Sunday. One of our rooms was not cleaned at all. Again, no attempt at recompensation. At these rates, I do expect daily cleaning and more than one tiny trash can.Lighting can also be improved: no overhead lights in the bedroom part, except for one dim one over the desk. Again: not a four star experience. Bedside charging stations would also be welcome on both sides of the bed.

Although there was a landline in the room, which was needed due to Verizon situation, there were no instructions on how to make a call, reach the desk etc. Basic Motel 6 stuff.

This hotel embodies the maxim:" Location, location, location." Don't expect $600 worth of hotel...maybe $300 at best.

I spent 2 nights with the Allegria Hotel, for a birthday celebration. Below are the Pros & Cons

Pros: Friendly Staff, Beach and Pool rooftop ( the pool it self is small and does not allow for much social distancing)
Cons: Our guest room, partial Ocean view was in need of a refresh. Based on the cost, i didn't expect to see worn out furniture, shelving detaching from the wall, lopsided TV wall unit or a refrigerator full of scratches and visibly aged. The bed was also very hard, it was simply a mattress on a wooden platform - caused me back pain. The bathroom did not have any functioning ventilation, when taking a hot shower the in room fire alarm was triggered at 1am requiring an hotel employee to reset the alarm.

I also do not recommend the food at The Atlantica, i had the Fried Chicken Po'Boy and it was very lack luster. Seemingly 2 chicken tenders on bread with what was suppose to be cole slaw.

In general, its a good local option based on the current state of the country if you want a " staycation" however the room rates really don't align for how the room was maintained.

Stayed at this hotel for a small weekend getaway. Several guests checked in at the same time as us, we were not offered pool access or beach access while we waited for our room to be available although many guests were given access- only after asking this was granted. Hotel towels were not available for one entire day from 9am to 9pm, in 95 degree weather with high humidity. The towels from our room were removed for “cleaning” although they were clean, and we were not able to use towels for the remainder of the day despite asking and checking in multiple times expressing our need. This was absolutely frustrating and when I asked for towels I was met with a very rude front desk person telling me “Maam we are in a pandemic”, as a healthcare professional I am well aware of this, however it is unacceptable to pay >$500/ night for lodging and not have towels to be able to bathe in such heat. The staff and hotel upkeep were atrocious and I do not recommend staying here. The only thing that made it worth it was the beach pass, albeit there were no towels for after swimming. The hotel itself was very loud, although I was made to sign a form stating I would not have parties, the two adjacent rooms were having very loud parties with music and singing until 3 am on Friday and Saturday nights. When I complained, nothing was done.

Hotel Allegría long beach NY used covid as an excuse not to service the rooms. They offered to service it every 3 days. This was unknown at the time of reservation.

A place next to the beach where you bring sand with clothes and shoes was not daily cleaned. Floors were not mopped. I even asked to borrow a broom to do it myself to avoid getting sand inside my bed with my feet and they never gave me one and were difficult about it.

Towels and toiletries were provided only upon request and they were very cheap about giving you enough for the guests staying in the room.

We were a family with 2 young children and this made the stay hard.

Also even if the restaurant where bfast was served was beautiful they, many times, would not have proper utensils available and disposable ones were provided. One Latin server in the bfast buffet called Mario was rude.

I would not recommend this place

My wife surprised me with an overnight stay at the Allegria Hotel for my 35th birthday. I was very excited because the hotel is right next to the beach and it was supposed to be a beautiful day. When we got to the hotel, I was worried that we wouldn’t be able to check in on time. Luckily, the front office supervisor, Jonathan Fabietti, offered to store our belongings so that we could enjoy our day at the beach. As a hospitality manager myself, I was very impressed by his professionalism. He may be one of the most dedicated, service-oriented employees I’ve ever seen in my career.

About ten minutes after we checked into our room received a call from none other than Jonathan asking how we liked the room. The hotel was having issues that day with towels which was fine. I requested for some extra towels and it appeared that many people were waiting for extra towels too so I asked him to leave them in the room. Since we didn’t make any dinner reservations prior, Jonathan, with no hesitation, offered to assist us with reservations for a nearby Hibachi restaurant. He just knew all the right things to do for my special day! When we got back, the towels were there waiting for us: Promise made, promise kept.

To whomever hired this gentleman, keep him forever! The Allegria Hotel should be proud to have such a wonderful leader working for them! I will definitely return and I plan on telling all of my friends about the exceptional service we received. Thank you to the entire staff for a wonderful 35th birthday and a big thank you to Jonathan for offering such remarkable service and making the experience one I will never forget!

After a week here and after spending over $4000 I was disappointed and unhappy. The hotel is located oceanfront on the Long Beach boardwalk. Terrific, would have been nice to open a window to feel the ocean breeze but the handles were removed. The room was con temporarily furnished with a small refrigerator. No in room coffee was provided, no ice bucket, no washcloths. I was told on checkin that they would only clean my room after five days even on request but they would bring fresh towels and remove the trash. Actually it was like pulling teeth to get towels or anything else. The housekeeping staff is totally untrained and unsupervised. There is no quality control. I might get two bath towels and four bottles of shampoo but no toilet paper or trash removed. They never did fully clean my room during my stay. They are hiding behind covid to avoid providing services and benefit from the limited hotel options near Long Beach.

Understanding that allowances should be made for post-covid service, that is my main complaint about the hotel. Despite hoping that, if anything, the cleaning service would be more rigorous to clean and disinfect the rooms, not a single surface seemed to be wiped or even dusted for the duration of our stay. The fridge, shelves and even the floor were covered in dust throughout...

In addition, we came back one afternoon to find out door wide-open, leaving all of our belongings vulnerable. The front desk didn't seem interested and offered no apology whatsoever. We also twice came back to find one or both of the towels taken and not replaced.

The walls are paper thin and we found ourselves laying awake on a couple of occasions to the sound of our neighbors' muffled conversations until late.

Finally the bar is one of the worst I have ever visited. For a fully stocked cocktail bar, the (fairly simple) drinks we ordered (margarita and pina colada) tasted awful and had almost no alcohol in them.

They also seem to be almost IMPOSSIBLE to contact. Any line you try from the switchboard is constantly engaged...

The only saving grace for this hotel is its proximity to the beach. The fact it has '4-stars' is laughable.

My daughter and I stayed at the Allegria hotel recently for what was our first get-away since the pandemic. Coming from Manhattan we needed some time away from the congestion and humidity; Long Beach is the perfect place to find that. Not a far walk from the train station and placed in the middle of a GORGEOUS boardwalk this location is mesmerizing!
We got to the property around noon and we’re greeted by a friendly gentleman named Devin who gave us city beach passes (I was unaware these were needed so we would have been SOL without the hotel providing them) as well towels and chairs that looked brand new :)
After a delicious lobster roll from their boardwalk restaurant and some great service from a young woman named Jada we headed to the sand. The front desk called us not long after to tell us our double beach view room was ready but we couldn’t get off the beach just yet...
When we had enough sun my daughter and I headed in to find the room had a terrific west facing view and we’re pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness too.
Since we did the Atlantica for lunch we decided to venture out for dinner. The evening manager Helen pointed us to a spot not far called the Long Beach social club and found ourselves just blown away by the cuisine. You must look at the reviews for this place too!
We only enjoyed a one night stay but Long Beach and the Allegria have so much to offer so we certainly will be back!

Thank you to everyone who we came in contact with! Your service was so friendly and attentive

The ONLY positive part of our stay was the proximity to the beach which has to be the only reason guests stay here. We booked 4 rooms for the weekend of 7/30-8/1 and all of our rooms had some sort of issue. One room the shower was literally dripping water and unusable. My aunt and uncle’s room was dirty and the shower flooded and no one came to fix it for 24 hrs. My parents shower was also barely functioning.

The process for renting the beach chairs and towels was extremely outdated and ridiculous. It took at least 15 minutes and required paperwork to obtain beach chairs/towels and access to the beach. We needed cards to show at the beach that we were guests of the hotel that you have to return by 5pm each day. They barely let you know that if you don’t return the cards each day, you can be charged upwards of $1,500 on your bill with no note or comment from the front desk. They just sneak it on there and hope you don’t notice the exorbitant charges for some plastic cards.

We ate breakfast as a group of 10 one morning and while our server was fine, the kitchen really screwed up some of our meals and were not accommodating whatsoever. My little cousin ordered a breakfast sandwich on a croissant and once everyone got their food, he was still waiting for his. The server eventually informed us that they threw away the leftover croissants because it had passed the breakfast serving time. He then ordered pancakes which he received and were hard and inedible and clearly not fresh which was an ultimate disrespect as an alternative option. My aunt ordered the oatmeal and asked for no cranberries in it and a side of fruit. She received the oatmeal with cranberries in it and no side of fruit.

Overall incompetent staff and less than satisfactory customer service. There was a line at the front desk at one point of guests needing to make a complaint about their issues with room or other. I would NOT recommend this hotel and we will NEVER stay here again. It’s unfortunate because it could be a great hotel if it was updated and management cared more. I’d recommend booking an Airbnb because another hotel my cousin stayed at nearby was an even worse experience.

No continental breakfast. You have to request a coffee maker. Smoking area is outside the hotel. You are charged a resort fee which includes beach passes, beach chairs and beach towels. No alcohol on the beach. You have to call multiple times to contact front desk with the hope of someone picking up the call.

I stayed here in July- the rooms were fine (especially if you get an ocean view), but what you are really paying for is the location; based on the recent reviews, the cleanliness in the common areas and hospitality are still subpar.
