My wife and I are very glad we found this GREAT B&B to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary! Michael and Deb were just wonderful, from our first phone call to Michael to moment we left for home. Michael and Deb are living their dream, of living in the Finger Lakes region and running this B&B and it shows by their attention to details. They made us feel welcome and went the extra mile to make our stay special, even with the limitations due to the Coronavirus. You can tell they really love what they do. We stayed in the Shakespeare Room, which was a cozy size and clean with a small clean private bath and queen bed, that was very comfortable. A long set of outside steps take you up the the entrance, which also has a very large deck, that has an ample seating area. The view of Seneca Lake and the rear of their property, from the deck, is wonderful. Michael is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to wine and wine making. We can't say enough about the location and hospitality. Unfortunately, they were unable to prepare us breakfast, due to Covid-19 restrictions, but we look forward to going back someday, and hopefully we will be able to enjoy their breakfast. Overall, highly recommend and a great value. Also, if you get a chance go to Ryan Williams Winery!…
We cannot say enough about our beautiful and relaxing stay at cottage views. Michael and Deb are the most amazing hosts. You will not be disappointed, even with the restrictions that COVID has now placed on this industry, you can still enjoy a lovely getaway while supporting a vital part of this region in a spotless, clean and most comfortable home away from home. We cannot wait to return and enjoy their new fire pit and the most glorious sunsets! Don’t miss this gem and these two beautiful souls working so hard to make your stay perfect!
I am so excited to tell others of the Cottage View B&B. It is warm, welcoming, friendly and private. My husband and I have stayed at a number of B&B’s over the years and this one now sets the “high bar” for my standards. The atmosphere of the whole place is warm and cozy but I especially loved sitting in the library at night and enjoying a glass of wine with our hosts. (I actually took a week from the time we were there until now to write this review giving me time to come off the wonderful euphoria and yet I am still just as enthralled as when we first got there.) We have already booked a room again for the fall and I can not wait to see the lake view with all the fall leaves and colors. This is a place that I would like to come to to just unwind from a busy life style. No agenda would be needed. Just come and sit on the patio or porch to rest and relax and maybe read. The back yard even has a horse shoe pit for a little fun. A few words can not say it all regarding this place. One just needs to experience it themselves. If you have never stayed at a B&B, come to this wonderful place and fall in love with everything they have to offer. If you have written B&B’s off your list due to a bad experience, come here and let Michael and Debbie change your feelings. If you love B&B’s you will agree that this one is just tops and you will never want to stay elsewhere while visiting the Finger Lakes. Thank you again Michael and Debbie we look forward to many visits in the future! …
Our first trip to the Finger Lakes and anniversary weekend was a huge success thanks to the accommodations and wonderful hosts, Michael and Deb, at Cottage Views B&B! The room was cozy and had it's own personal deck with view overlooking Seneca Lake to enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine on. The breakfast was delicious, like eating at a fine dining restaurant! Michael and Deb were gracious hosts, absolutely lovely people who made you feel right at home and gave great vineyard recommendations for our visit. We can't wait to visit again!
A great B&B in a central location with affordable pricing and the best hosts you can find. Debbie and Michael are just wonderful hosts, they have a great knowledge of the area and are really nice people. They make you feel welcome in their home, a 200 year old B&B. The home is unique, but is kept perfectly clean and warm and comfortable. They serve a breakfast that makes the visit even better. The view from their breakfast room is breathtaking as you look over Seneca Lake and the adjoining winery. Breakfast is 5 stars and the hosts are wonderful chefs. They take classic breakfasts and give them a Cottage Views twist that is delicious. Rooms are comfortable and clean, we stayed in the Lennon room on the lower level and had a truly wonderful visit. Bed was one of the most comfortable we have stayed in, just like home. Debbie and Michael are a pleasure, they are informative and can help you plan your visit with tips on wineries, restaurants, parks, cycling, hiking and kayaking to help you have an enjoyable stay. Having stayed all over the Finger Lakes, they have now become our go to place when we are visiting the area. If you have any questions they are there to help, and give a watch to their YouTube video and you will be sold on this wonderful B&B.…
Our Friday-Sunday weekend stay was the perfect antidote to the M-F Manhattan Rat-Race. From the moment we arrived the hosts could not do enough to make our stay relaxing. Michael & Deb know how to create a truly unique experience in a quiet, charming, quintessential B&B as they make their B&B dream come true, for others to share and enjoy. Sure, there are lots of B&Bs across the 414 Wine Trail, but there is only one hosted by owners Deb & Mike. Thank you for creating the experience we were looking for — total disconnect from the noise, picturesque views of Seneca Lake, breakfasts that can hold their own against any gourmet restaraunt, great wine of course :), and perfect accommodations. Other B&Bs may have their unique aspects, but they won’t have Deb & Mike whose personalities and expertise create a one-of-a-kind experience. Can’t wait to come back again in the spring!! We miss you already. Many thanks from Gary & Jill…
Michael and Debbie are exceptional hosts with an immaculate B&B. Breakfast is devine, love the spectacular views of Lake Seneca, and Michael’s expertise in wine as a Sommelier and Manager at Damiani Winery made our visit even more enjoyable. Looking forward to going back again and bringing some friends.
Cottage Views B&B is a wonderful place to stay and that is just what we have been doing for the past 5 years and counting! Deb and Micheal's history and lives are as deep and rich as this beautiful B&B's history. Better than home away from home, Cottage Views B&B is nested close to everything in the finger lake area, Watkins Glen, and much more than I am even aware of. Years ago we traveled to the Watkins Glen area for a race, and didn't have a place to stay, we found another B&B the first year in the Montour Falls area but tragedy struck it the following year and I don't believe they were able to reopen. The owner gave me Michael's number with the most high recommendation and it didn't take long to see why. Deb and Michael care for their guests, for each other for the B&B with so much dedication, and they are truly amazing caring people who treat you much better that even your closet friend or family member ever could. There are several rooms to choose from and we have stayed in 2. The Renaissance room has a huge bed, a big spa like bathroom. There is a wonderful inside seating area outside of the room with antique chairs, books and every piece has a story to tell. You are steps away from morning breakfast and nothing beats waking up to that delicious aroma. If you prefer being higher up, and need or want more seclusion or need more that one room the Bronte room and the Shakespeare room have that option. We have stayed in the Shakespeare room the last four years. I love waking up, walking onto the deck with the views of the lake before the start of the day. Because we come for the race at the Glen it's a very calming place to open and shut your eyes each day (especially if you make it back for sunset) Breakfast is made fresh daily, with your taste in mind, and local ingredients supporting the community. We never eat better than we do when we stay at Cottage Views with Deb and Michael as chefs! If you take the time for stroll, or want to sit outside there are several places for you to stop and enjoy the grounds and even play horseshoes. I wish there were more people like Deb & Michael in the world and places to stay that even come close to Cottage Views B&B but because there aren't this is what sets them apart. We won't stay anywhere else, and we WILL be back for years to come. Thank you both for everything... can't wait to see you again.…
Cute little B&B on finger lakes. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the house had so much character, and the grounds had beautiful views. Best of all, Michael prepared awesome gourmet breakfasts for us using locally sourced ingredients during several days of our visit. Thanks Michael and Debbie for making us feel so comfortable and making our vacation perfect. :)
My husband and I have stayed at Cottage Views twice and look forward to returning. First time by ourselves and the last year came back with 2 other couples. Michael and Debbie are the consummate hosts - they know the area well, have a passion for wine (Michael has a wealth of professional experience), and love their B & B. Breakfast rivals any 5-star hotel, the setting is beautiful with gorgeous views of the lake and all the small details have been thought of in the rooms. Location is right on the Seneca wine trail and also just a short drive to nice hiking, Watkins Glen (20 minutes) and Ithaca (45 minutes). Highly recommend!
