After reading the many great reviews of the lake house, we were excited about "getting away" for some peace and quiet. The lake house accomplished that; however the house is definitely not worth the $300 per night charge. First of all, the house needs some serious cleaning and minor repairs. The owners pride themselves on maintaining a 50's/60's decor; the... More

I heard about The Arnold House on the Today Show. I booked it immediately because of its proximity to NJ. We needed a place to go for 2 nights that was within a 3 hour drive. This was the perfect spot. Living and working at the Jersey in the summer we need a break from it all. The Arnold House... More

This place has a major upgrade compared to the old restaurant that used to be here, (Lanzas). The landscaping is nicely done and neat. The bar that is located downstairs is a lot of fun. There's a fireplace and jukebox which makes it very cozy. The upstairs is very nice and organized and large enough for a party. They have... More

Our daughter chose the Arnold House for their wedding venue and we had the opportunity to stay two days in the main hotel and two in the Garden Suite. The rooms are spacious and immaculate, comfortable and charming. The inn has a vintage vibe reminiscent of the mid-century resorts famous in the Catskills. This is a resort you visit to... More

I had an amazing week-long stay at the Lake House run by the Arnold House in late Spring. Having seen the consensus of reviews it's clear that most people get the experience. The house is gorgeous, nestled in trees with a back garden that backs onto the beautiful Shandelee Lake. I stayed in the back room and woke every morning... More

My wife and I were referred to the Arnold House as a retreat from the NYC daily grind and when we saw we could have our own cabin on a lake we decided to stay over Memorial Day. Since the Lake House had two bedrooms we brought along another couple to split the cost. We got the rustic escape we... More

My family stayed at the Lake House earlier this summer and it was the perfect place for the four of us to decompress, unplug and spend time together. We were happily surprised with the number of things to do on the property. There is a shed full of fishing gear, 2 boats life jackets, and we were greeted with smores... More

My husband and I were looking for a relaxing weekend getaway spot and The Arnold met that need. Everyone was very friendly, the food was delicious at the Tavern, and the decor of the place has a cute rustic farmhouse charm. There was plenty of things to do nearby- Catskilks brewery, antiquing, hiking, see the alpacas. The barn behind the... More

Based on the reviews, I was incredibly excited to spend my 50th birthday week at the Lake House property, which is managed by the Arnold House and is about 1.5 miles down the road sitting on a lake. The descriptions described a secluded, remote, and modern cabin experience. Unfortunately, none of my expectations were met, and the property and facilities... More

Wonderful and magical place. Felt like we were in a set for Don and Betty Draper's vacation. Beautiful setting and the team makes it very easy to feel comfortable there. Toasted smores and had coffee every morning on the porch. Loved canoeing in the lake. Very quiet and serene. Had a great brunch on Saturday at the Tavern. No air... More
