Recently we revisited The Debruce with 2 other couples, and their tasting menu continues to be fabulous! The dining room is lovely, with either a view out the windows to the rolling hills of the Hudson Valley, or into the kitchen where you can watch your dinner being prepared and plated. The farm fresh local ingredients beautifully presented makes for a truly special experience! Service is impeccable, and the chef is so proud of his food that he comes out to greet and chat with all the patrons. You should not miss an opportunity to enjoy The Debruce!!

My husband and I just spent our Labor Day weekend at the DeBruce and were so impressed. It's the kind of place where you immediately feel relaxed. We loved hanging out on the front porch with our cups of coffee reading a book and sitting by the fire at night. Although the beds were comfortable, the ambiance cozy, and the staff very accommodating, the real reason to come here is the food. Everything we ate and drank was absolutely delicious. Thank you to Sam and Jordan who were really friendly and willing to give lots of local recommendations as well. We will definitely be back with our pup in tow.

We had a king room on the top floor overlooking the back of the property, which was perfect. The pool and butterfly garden were peaceful and lovely. The hosts were helpful and pleasant. The trails in the back were beautiful, but they were a little too overgrown to be able to enjoy fully. The food was delicious both the multi-course dinner and breakfast. The dinner was a new and interesting experience that was fresh and delicious. I highly recommend eating here!

Was the end stop on our mini-tour of the Hudson Valley and Catskills and it ended on a high-note. It is a lovely old inn with modern bathrooms and beautiful grounds. With the heat we especially liked the pool. Even thought the food was outside of my comfort zone (as I am not an adventurous eater) and I really enjoyed everything we had. The first night includes the "casual" dinner and then a nine-course tasting menu the second night. The presentation of food on both nights was exceptional. The fresh ingredients really shone through. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable (a shout out to Jordan and Gene...really looking forward to the Plight of the Pale People debut album). All in all, we very much enjoyed our stay and highly recommend The DeBruce!

We arrived late morning to be greeted by Jordan who showed us around the property and allowed us an early check in since the room was ready. Our queen room was small and not a lot of space besides the bed. Our bathroom was spacious with a claw foot tub and a separate shower; full size Malin and Goetz bath products. A shelf in bathroom would have been helpful for our cosmetics. The rooms have window air conditioner units which are new but still a bit noisy. No television which is good and lends itself to really decompressing. There are plenty of well designed public spaces for reading or relaxing; the front porch has rocking chairs; nice lounge chairs and umbrellas around pool. We went flyfishing twice during our stay as there is river access on the property and caught large sized trout on both outings. We took a hike on the trails behind the property. The highlight of the stay was the food; a 9 course tasting menu in the main level dining room. The downstairs bar/restaurant is more beautifully decorated for dining and wish the tasting menu was served there. The excellent chef uses local ingredients and the staff describes each course to you and why the chef chose to make it. Special mention to Andrea who was outstanding in this regard. The last 2 courses were served in the main social room - a cheese course/dessert. Suggestion for improvement: train the bartenders as it took 3 to make a basic drink and same suggestion for some of the dinner wait staff who were unfamiliar with the selection of wine and tried to wing it with their explanations.
