No matter when we come here it is wonderful. We stayed at the motel this time. King room. Comfortable, clean and quiet. Can never say enough about this place. There's a restaurant on up the road -Betty's - and of course many area places to eat. Ask at the front desk. The Carl family and staff are most helpful.

Deluxe it is not, but it is clean and comfortable, and that is all that we needed. We stay here at the Rip Van Winkle when we are visiting relatives in the area. We book the motel room because we like the spaciousness of the room and it simply suits our needs the best. The owners are always friendly and...

The property is neat and well kept. The motel rooms are in the front and the various sized cabins are in back. The cabins are separated by narrow roads and have some privacy. There are a few bbq pits for use. Our motel room was very spacious, bathroom too. The beds were comfy. My daughter was fine with the pillows...

The Carl's has been a tradition with my family for decades - there's no more comfortable or peaceful getaway. I never sleep better than in the beds that they have. Note that they don't have internet booking or the look of a modern chain hotel, but that's fine by me - I get enough of that as a business traveler....

It was just a single overnight stay after the annual Catskill High School Alumni Reunion Dinner, but it's always a good choice. Very clean and neat, not extra fancy, just everything you need and comfortable accommodations, especially the beds. And the pillows: to borrow the mattress commercial's verbiage, "Like sleeping on a cloud." Truly, I love their gloriously soft, cushy...

We stayed in the motel room part. There were cabins also that looked neat but we didn't stay in them. The room was clean and pretty decent size. Our only complaint would be moth ball smell in the room. I believe it's just needed airing out. We stayed 2 nights and it got better. Also there's some traffic noise if...

Enjoyed our stay here! Quiet, huge rooms, very clean and great service! We enjoyed wandering the grounds and swimming in the pool. The king size bed was very comfortable as well. We were happy to see the Keurig machine in the office too.

The owner of the motel was wonderful. The rooms were spacious and clean. I was a little worried about being right on the main road but when the windows were closed you could barely hear the traffic. If you are looking for a quaint place to stay, this is it. They also have cabins you can rent. If we visit...

Perfect spot for a weekend on a budget. The Hemlock cabin was sparkling clean with fresh linens, two double beds, a changing room with a dresser and a nice-sized bathroom. The front porch was private due to quickly growing vines which made the cabin that much more cozy. This was our second visit and we will definitely be back.

This motel had very large, clean rooms in a rural setting. Friendly, very accomadating hosts. Excellent dining reccomendations were given to us for nearby eating. Have cabins available on the property, as well.
