Abuela’s Beach House is one of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed. The location is stunning, beautiful views down to exquisite sea. There are a lot of steps so I would say not suitable for anyone with mobility issues and if you’ve small kids be careful. The views are stunning and the pool is lovely. It’s very peaceful. About 3km north of Brela which we found to be too busy in July. The area around Abuela’s is much more relaxing. Brane was an amazing host. I’ve never stayed somewhere where the hospitality is so personal and attentive but also relaxing and discreet. I also loved how the apartment was equipped with lots of thoughtful touches – dishwasher tablets, coffee pods, sugar etc. So you don’t have to buy everything in the supermarket and leave behind.
A very special place and we’d love to go back.

From our initial contact with Ana (who answered all our queries quickly) and booking 5 nights in Apartment Capriniaha with ease, throughout our stay and even the airport transfers by Brane,we had all our holiday needs taken care of by these super caring hosts and owners .

From chatting to Brane it is clear that they both have put their heart and soul into making Abuelas Beachhouse the best accommodation in Brela. The apartment was outstanding...the bed was large and so comfortable with amazing 2 in 1 cooling pillows (which I'd never heard of before but will definitely try and buy some) both showers were great, the air con very quiet (a usual annoyance for me) and all the soft furnishings were comfortable, a well equipped kitchen and exceptionally clean throughout (including the outdoor terrace furniture.)

It was around 35/38 degrees during our stay so the infinity pool was great and there is also a huge olive tree providing shade as well as a large garden parasol and other shady areas. Brane was also happy to make cocktails which were fabulous!

Both Ana and Brane had lots of advice on where to eat, places to visit and also where there was a small local supermarket (5 mins walk) which was well stocked with local bread/ cheese/ hams/ fruit and dairy products. Brane also picked up some croissants for us one morning.

The beach was so clean and the water crystal-clear and not overcrowded where we were. There is also paddle boarding hire and other water activities close by. The promenade is a lovely walk in both directions and there are plenty of beach bars and ice-cream kiosks to hand.

We have travelled a lot around the world and we can honestly say that the accommodation at Abuelas Beachhouse and the kindness and friendliness of the hosts is very rare and every effort is given by them to ensure all visitors have the best possible holiday experience. Thank you so much Brane and Ana (not forgetting adorable Kaya, Petra and Do-Do)..our holiday really felt like we were staying with friends and we hope to return to your beautiful beachhouse again in the near future.

We stayed for 3 nights but kicking ourselves for not booking for longer! Ana and Brane were amazing hosts, the apartment itself was clean, comfortable and surprisingly large with the incredible balcony overlooking the ocean. The pool area was so nice and having a bbq to grill our own meat was such a great touch. Obviously the beaches and water sell themselves but we are already planning a return next year!

We had a wonderful stay at Abuelas beach house in the Caiprinhia apartment! A family of four with our two girls on the sofabed.
All communication with Ana was great. She answered all my questions and was very helpful!
Having a welcome drink made by Brane brought to our room was great in the heat!
Our room was big, beautiful and very clean. The cleaning lady was so sweet too!
Our bed was nice with the special pillows. The girls where very happy with their sofabed. It was very comfy.
The apartment was new and modern with floor to ceiling windows in both rooms with blackout curtains. Waking up to the view and quietness in the morning and having breakfast on the terrace, looking out to the sea was a bliss.
And the beautiful pool!! We loved swimming there and chilling under the olive tree in the afternoon after being on the beach.
We used two restaurants on the beach, Plima and the one beside the coffeebar Luka with no name at Jakirusa beach (at the furthest end to the right).
They were both great. Plima as my favourite.
The beach strip in front of Abuela is the most beautiful in the area with small coves with crystal clear water. The man with the Fruit boat came to the beaches everyday with fresh fruit to buy.
A bit outside Brela center with no big hotels nearby, it is quiet and serene. Not overcrowded as we saw in Brela and Makarska.

Ana and Brane, the hosts with their children Kaya and Petra were so lovely. Giving us space to have a quiet holiday, but also there when we needed them. It was always great to have a chat with them, when we catched up on our way to the beach or for dinner.
Brane offered us free laundry!!! And one morning we got lovely home made pastries. These small extras makes everything perfect. We have been to many great hotels, mostly in Asia where the service are excellent, but never had such personal touch like here at Abuelas.
We would love to come back again!
HVALA! Ana and Brane!
With love from Bjerke family!

This place is just perfect! The hosts welcomed us with cold drinks and were extremely friendly trough our entire stay. The cocktails Brane makes are better than anything you can try in restaurants around ;) The location and the house are wonderful, there is a lot of beautiful beaches and good restaurants very close. The view you get from the terrace or the swimming pool is amazing! I can honestly say this was the most wonderful place we stayed in, and definitely planning to come back :)

All our family enjoyed an amazing stay at Abuelas Beach House. We had the best care from start to the end. Apartment Tango was perfectly equipped, the owners very nice and helpful throughout the stay. They recommended restaurants, shops and entertainment in the area and lent us a grill. Everything in the house is perfectly arranged, clean. The pool is great and a small quiet beach right below the house accessible by stairs. Thank you Ana and Brane for a perfect vacation! We will definitely come again! Take care, Petra

Me and my husband spent 5 nights at Abuela's Beach House. The accomodation is amazing (but mind the steps-around 200 to the beach). The owners are really trying to make you feel welcome. I would like to vist again.

Some places you know are going to be perfect before you even stay and Abuelas Beach House is one such place. We had so many flight problems making this trip with 2 cancellations followed by a four hour delay meaning we didn’t arrive until 4.30am. Our Mamma Mia apartment was beautiful, spotlessly clean and with a huge balcony. We have had some great views from hotels and apartments during our travels but this view was off the scale amazing! From the first morning our young son enjoyed playing in the beautiful pool with Petra and Kaya and during our stay Brane gave me a lift to the local store and brought us cocktails and fruit. Nothing was ever too much trouble and we enjoyed talking to Ana and Brane numerous times. It feels more like a luxurious boutique hotel in many ways and there were some lovely restaurants nearby…Burin and Plima were our personal favourites. Yes there are a lot of steps to get to the coast path but our 5 year old son managed fine….just make sure you don’t forget anything when you go out like I once did 😄. Thanks you Ana and Brane for all of your kindness and say hi to Petra and Kaya from Jonas 🙂. I hope that we will maybe return in the future and with less flight dramas…yes our flight home was also cancelled 🥴.

A really special find in Brela with access to the lovely beaches and promenade. Ana and Brane exceeded our expectations to make us feel welcomed and assist with our every need. They made arrangements for us to get picked up for Konoba Katara at sunset for dinner, and it was amazing. Brane helped us rent bikes at the bar nearby just below their beautiful home, so we could see the whole promenade while we were there. Truly spectacular. Spotless, lovely and perfect! Wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you.

The staff was very helpful and nice. The apartment was clean and well equipped. The balcony is large and the view must be one of the most beautiful in the world. The pool was also very nice. There are many good beaches in the area with very clear water. There is a good range of services on promenade. The area is particularly suitable for families and others looking for a peaceful holiday.
