Large but fairly basic rooms. We loved the rooms but they are on the edge of a beach in a "jungle" type area so do expect bush babies eating the soap in the bathrooms and lizards / mice etc running along the roof and walls. Food was basic but plentiful and cooked by locals from the nearby village. The village... More

small village of authentic cozy bungalows, in jungle at the seaside. Food is simple but fresh. dive sites are beautiful - endless coral gardens. Resort is very rural and natural - best for those of us who came to understanding that wilderness is an ultimate luxury

Where to start... If you can appreciate this place for what it is you will love it! It's not a 5* hotel, it is isolated and in the mids of nature so you will be accompanied by some visitors especially at night time but it's part of the charm. The food is delicious and plentiful. The staff is amazing and... More

The operational constraints of running a lodge in a village in northern Pemba, one of the most remote places in the Zanzibar Archipelago and perhaps one of the most remote places in Tanzania, must be painstaking. That being said, Raf and Cisca own and manage a wonderful, safe, and comfortable dive operation out of Kervan Saray Beach Lodge/Swahili Divers, and... More

Me and 9 friends recently just completed the NAUI SCUBA open water certification in a five day course and we all loved it. It's an amazing and beautiful environment, the perfect spot to holiday and a smashing staff to match. Good food, reasonably priced drinks and you always know you can ask for anything and you'll be taken care of.... More

The folks at Swahili Divers are so accommodating to all levels of divers and snorklers. My friends and I did a NAUI open water certification last week, and we found the level of instruction way higher than expected. Swahili divers train you for more than the minimum standards require. For recreational divers, there are many options of reefs to see... More

It's very difficult to say anything bad about this place. You will understand only after spending time here. Raf and 'Cisca, the owners, are obviously passionate about what they do and go to great efforts to make everyone feel welcome - a home from home family type of vibe. Though not to everyone's taste (the phone by the bed, minibar... More

Our group of 8 came to Pemba island to relax a bit and get over jet lag before our planned adventure to bike across Tanzania to Moshi than up Kilimanjaro. We spent a couple of days here just snorkeling and relaxing. It was perfect. It was just what we needed to put the stress of air travel behind us and... More

I've been to Swahili Divers twice now and both times, I had amazing stays and am already planning my third visit. In addition to world class diving sites that offer spectacular views of just a fraction of the immense biodiversity along the East African coast, the intimacy of the site creates a wonderful getaway from the rest of the world.... A friend and I were traveling through eastern Africa and had heard good recommendations about Swahili Divers so we decided to check it out...and I'm so happy we did! We stayed at the lodge for roughly 1 week, got NAUI certified, and went on four dives after being certified. The dive instructors were great, patient with a large group of... More
