Everything was top notch. We stayed in one of the suites, which was beyond exceptional. Beautiful balcony views with morning coffee and after dinner drinks. Our stay was enhanced by gorgeous Lake Placid weather, great service throughout our stay.

Hotel's Favorite
First trip to the Adirondacks and delighted with the Mirror Lake Inn. Concerns regarding pandemic precautions were top of mind and the management and staff had everything well in hand. Mask wearing compliance was 100%, social distancing was evident, hand sanitizer dispensers were located throughout. Breakfast was available for self pick-up or room delivery and was well managed. The restaurant was open for dinner: temperature monitoring, hand sanitizers, personalized menus, staff in full face shields all made for a relaxed experience and opportunity to enjoy the excellent cuisine and wine. Our room was modern and well equipped and the suspension of daily housekeeping was not a problem as additional towels, toiletries, etc., were swiftly available on request. Overall a great experience and setting the standard for safe travel during these challenging times. We will definitely return.

My partner and I have been visiting Lake Placid and climbing High Peaks the past few years. It has become a very special place to us over the years, and we fell in love with Mirror Lake Inn when deciding where to have our small wedding. We were able to visit in Fall 2020, when there was still uncertainty about the pandemic, and book our wedding for June 2021. Stephanie worked with us through every step of the process and working with her lifted a huge weight off our shoulders. We were not looking forward to the stress of having to plan a wedding, which is partly why we chose to have a small wedding. Stephanie coordinated everything for us and made sure that our special day was all planned out for us. We had an amazing stay, and all our family was able to stay at the hotel. It is the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in, and even the classic rooms were perfect. The view from the rooms was incredible, looking out onto the Lake and the High Peaks. The amenities were also great- our families were able to take out paddleboards and kayaks, we were able to rent bikes and ride around the Lake and nearby golf course, enjoy the hot tub and pool, and sit out at the fire ever evening. It's also nice being so close to the Village- we were able to walk to all the nearby shops. Our wedding day was perfect. It was on the Inn's dock on a picturesque day. We were able to get beautiful pictures on the grounds and inside the hotel. We also had our dinner at their restaurant- The View. Our families agreed that it was one of the best meals that we have ever had. The service was great, and they made it special by providing our wedding cake and taking our picture and putting it in a Mirror Lake Inn frame for us to always remember our special day. We are so happy to have built such great memories at Mirror Lake Inn. We can't wait to come back for anniversaries!

The property and facilities are 5 stars, and you pay for it. However, when we booked, we received a call about making dinner reservations weeks in advance. Not something I'm used to doing. We were then told that the restaurant was closed one night during our 3 day stay. All kinds of guarantees when making a restaurant reservation, so, we passed. They didn't tell us that breakfast was only take out. We passed again. We also weren't told that the bar/lounge would be closed one evening during our stay. Lastly, when the inn called originally about the restaurant reservation, it would have been helpful if they told us that the town itself was going to be under construction during our stay. Walking around town, navigating heavy construction equipment with the ever changing Adirondack weather, was a muddy mess.

Thank you for having been our guest and for taking the time to write a review. We’re glad to hear that you found the property and facilities to be “5 Stars” and that you thought the staff was “great”. Our dedicated staff works extremely hard to give people a great experience, so I know that they will appreciate your kind words and compliment of their efforts. I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed with a couple aspects of your stay. It is our goal to provide each and every guest with a unique and memorable experience so that they look forward to returning often. As you noted in your review, we do strongly recommend that dining reservations for the Four Diamond restaurant, “The View” be made well in advance of your arrival. As the only Four Diamond restaurant in the area, it tends to sell out quickly and we often have to turn guests without a reservation away. Although “The View” restaurant and lounge are closed on Tuesday evenings, our more casual restaurant and bar, “The Cottage” located on the lakeshore is open every day for lunch, dinner and cocktails. I apologize if this was not clear. Although we have reopened “The View” restaurant for sit-down style breakfast since your stay earlier this month, we were only offering a to-go style menu for breakfast at the time of your visit. This was one of the many procedural changes that we had implemented as part of our extensive Covid-19 safety protocols. While safety was, and continues to be a top priority for us, we have worked hard to make sure that we communicate the various protocols and procedural changes both timely and effectively with our guests. With that in mind, we created a dedicated page and pop-up notification on our website back in 2020 when the pandemic began, and we also began sending out a dedicated email at the time of booking that spoke to those protocols as we never want anyone to be surprised or disappointed upon their arrival. I did check and was able to confirm that we sent that email out to you on May 25th, the same day that we received your online booking. Again, thank you for having chosen the Mirror Lake Inn and for your kind words about the property and staff. I hope that we can look forward to having you as our guest again in the future. Sincerely, Christopher Jarvis Director of Rooms Mirror Lake Inn Resort & Spa

We had a wonderful 4 night visit. It was a delayed honeymoon, of sorts, and the hospitality could not have been any kinder. I chose this Inn because I had been there only once, nearly 19 years ago. The room was super clean - very appreciated during Covid. The staff was incredibly accommodating and very friendly. We took advantage of the boat rentals and fishing pier as well as the on site food options. Our meal at The View was delicious, and service was top notch. We will absolutely be back in the future.
