This turned out to be a perfect 20th anniversary get away. We stayed in the Skyview room which is well maintained and comfortable. There were absolutely no problems with the room and the service was excellent. The bathroom has both a jetted tub and a large shower and there was plenty of hot water. Breakfast was outstanding everyday. The eggs... More

So this place is well located while being a little out of the way, fine if you like to walk. Sometimes because of the heat, we just took the car a little closer to town and parked but it really isn't that far, it was just hot!! Beautiful back yard with use of canoe and kayaks. Rooms each had their... More

We stay in a lot of B&B's and actually enjoy the mystery of it all; getting to know innkeepers, seeing different decor, trying different breakfasts, etc. The Paradox Lodge has a good location; very close to downtown Lake Placid. The Cedar Lodge is quite lovely, complete with rustic furniture and overrun with antiques. There is no door between the bedroom... More

Thank you for choosing Paradox Lodge/Cedar Lodge for your Lake Placid stay. We are glad that you found it to be conveniently located. We are sorry we did not get the chance to spend time talking with you. Some times when we are full it is difficult to connect with everyone. Also, I would like to mention that only one... More

Owner communicative & generously let us get in early when I messed up the time. Room good for two/ small bathroom as expected but could definitely be a challenge for larger persons. Loved the yard & the chairs down by the water. We would definitely go back.

My husband and I and a friend recently stayed at Paradox Lodge. We arrived late in the evening and stayed through the next afternoon. From the moment we stepped through the door everything was magical. We stayed in the main house - our room was beautifully appointed for comfort and charm. The bed was superb, the towels soft. Our hosts,... More

You can't find a better reception than you will get at Paradox Lodge. From the special makeup-removing towels to the complimentary New York Times, a lot of thought has gone into giving you the best possible experience. This is a place for relaxing in a quiet environment: no TVs (free Wifi, though), no kids. Every room is different, but all... More

If you are looking for an escape from the ordinary, Paradox Lodge is the perfect place. The rooms are cozy, clean and comfortable. The decor is pure Adirondack. Although some may complain about the location being across the street from McDonalds, I find the location perfect for a stroll downtown or around Mirror Lake. In summer, you can relax in... More

We have stayed as guests at this excellent B&B on multiple occasions. It is as good as it gets. Accommodations are excellent and service is impeccable. Each room is unique, large, and loaded with character. Love all the hand-crafted genuine adirondack furniture & decor - lots of it made by Red (owner). Flawlessly & professionally operated, but by on-site owners... More

When I'm searching reviews, the first thing I do is see how many reviews the reviewer has made, and if they've done a variety of ratings. If they haven't, I discount what they have to say and go onto those reviews. I realize this is my first review, so a lot of you won't read it--no worries. I read all... More

While spending a weekend up in Lake Placid looking at our wedding venue we ended up staying and falling in love with Paradox Lodge. After getting to know the owners Nan and Red over some wine and delicious food we knew that we wanted to make Paradox Lodge part of our wedding weekend. Fast forward a few months later and... More
