I tend to avoid "dog-friendly" lodging due to my husband's allergies. We spent two nights in the queen suite and would never had guessed there had been a dog in the room with previous guests. The room was spotless and once the cleaning smells cleared, no trace of any odors. Our stay was mid September, and the heated pool was still open. The pool area was completely private due to an evergreen hedge running around the perimeter. There was plenty of space to safely distance while enjoying the pool, or the comfortable seating, the ladder ball game, or outdoor dining area. We used the Adirondack chairs near the firepit many times. That was my daughter's favorite spot to eat breakfast. The fire pit area has a view of the lake/cove across the street. The first night we were able to enjoy a fire, and s'mores. (Second night was rainy) Someone brought out an entire wheelbarrow of firewood, and a basket of supplies for the S'mores. Our stay exceeded all our expectations. The suite was large, immaculate, well stocked with dishes, soaps, towels, places to hand and store clothes and jackets. All our food and drinks for our three days fit in the fridge, and the microwave was clean and functioned well. The common kitchen doors were kept open at both ends, so we felt comfortable going in for coffee each morning. We also witnessed the room being sanitized regularly. We had no qualms during our stay concerning covid- 19. My teen loved being able to borrow a bike several times during our stay. We brought our helmets from home. She and my husband biked around the lake, and were able to visit our relatives staying on the opposite side of town without having to take the car. We also walked into the village several times. It's always a plus when you can park the car and not have to drive everywhere you want to go. We timed our visits into the village to avoid larger crowds since we were there on a weekend. early morning and during the rain were the best times. The staff was friendly and helpful, even before we arrived I had emailed questions and received prompt friendly replies. The rooms on the back of the property seemed ideal for those who want a quieter stay and a better view. We were in the queen suite, which was the last room on the back wing. We only had one neighbor, and the bathroom and kitchen were on the adjacent wall, our bedrooms areas had no one on the other side. We could sit in the table and chairs outside our room without having cars parked right there. It was ideal. We also had a view of the lake/cove across the street from our room. I loved sitting with my coffee in the morning and enjoying the view. It seemed odd that the queen bed was in the living area, but it worked out great. Our teen took the bedroom with the twin beds and enjoyed having her privacy. We woke up early eager to start our day, so the bed in the living area did not present a problem as it would if people were on different sleep schedules. The bathroom was much nicer than I expected at a motel type property. There was body wash and shampoo in dispensers in the shower. Plenty of soft towels, name brand paper products, a hair dryer and the window opened for added ventilation. The fan was on a switch outside the bathroom door. My daughter keeps asking when we can return. I will be booking our next stay when the pool reopens next season!

After a drive from the Woodstock area, via Saratoga Springs, we were ready to unwind and chill. The Town House Lodge did not disappoint. Immaculate room (with a dorm-size fridge), very well-maintained property and very comfortable beds! It is obvious this is a well-managed property. Outside each room are bright, new chairs where one can sit and just enjoy the fresh mountain air....and the pop of color also makes the motel even more attractive. This was a trip with my adult son....we do a mother-son road trip every other year (gotta take advantage of time together before the kids marry!) and the perfect set-up. Great a/c. Nice, hot shower. Wonderful community kitchen I only used for coffee in the morning (free) and washing dishes we borrowed to have takeout in our room. The staff even sanitizes those dishes before putting them back for others to use, The kitchen is a very generous, unique touch. Also loved that we were able to create our door lock code and never worry about keys! Now for a very important benefit: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. Parking is tough in Lake Placid, where all of the stores and restaurants are found. You are a 5 minute walk from the beginning of the district. This is huge. Yes, it is an incline walking back to the hotel, but I am 60 and not a skinny minny and did it several times. My son and I went on several walks around town and down to the other side of Mirror Lake (very pleasant and pretty) and it is wonderful not having to drive and look for parking everywhere. I would only stay here if I return to Lake Placid. I travel internationally and domestically for business (except during Covid) and often stay in highly regarded hotels (this sounds braggy but it's not...remember, I am working -- and not paying the bill, either).I love this hotel for the effort the owners make to keep it neat, super clean and friendly. They set the tone. I loved it. Great price, Amazing location. Super respectful of COVID restrictions. Thankful to Trip Advisor for leading me to Town House Lodge through others' recommendations. Now they have earned mine!

My husband and I traveled to Lake Placid for the first time, and we brought our dog. The hotel is very dog friendly, with a pet waste station and everything. The owner, Lisa, could not be more gracious and she's a true dog lover, and who doesn't like that? Lisa also gave us good suggestions on what to do with our limited time, and made suggestions that were very dog friendly. Great location, very walkable to downtown and close to the Peninsula Trails - a great place to take your pup for an easy hike. My only slight negative is not all of the guests wore masks in the common kitchen, and I would have preferred that, but that is not the hotel's fault. The common areas were sanitized regularly, and while the rooms were not being cleaned during your stay due to Covid cautions, anything extra you needed was available. I would definitely go back again, but this time give myself one entire day to lounge at the pool, and I'd spend more time by the fire pit at night.

Angela, so glad to see you enjoyed your stay with us! We have a great location being walking distance to almost anything in town! The peninsula trails are so fun, glad to hear you were able to get out and enjoy those during your short stay! Sorry to hear about the masks, with this uncertain time we try to enforce them as best as we can in the communal kitchen. We hope to see you back here again soon!

We needed a getaway from the craziness of the city suburbs and found this charming lodge on our first visit to Lake Placid. The rates were very reasonable and the caretakers very upbeat and friendly. The rooms were very well equipped and roomy! There was a beautiful secluded heated pool and a large firepit. Smores available upon request!! All of this and walking to town. We were very pleased by the way they managed the lodge in midst of Coronavirus - very clean, no housekeeping during your stay but there was always someone available to get any supplies needed. We will definitely visit in the future.

A very last minute annual trip to Lake Placid, joined friends who had already booked a room at the Town House Lodge, had never been there before. As I told the owner on my way out, it could not have been a better stay. I have stayed in hotels of all ratings, all over the world, but the staff of this little place was the friendliest and most accommodating staff I can remember. Things like, having a bike pump for our tires, accomodating a room change and offering to move our things for us, and all of the genuinely friendly greetings (not forced), really impressed me. All of this during Covid-19 of course. Location is a short walk down to Main St too. I truly enjoyed our 3 night stay and will be going back sometime, very good value.
