Our stay here was great. It was quiet and super clean with everything we needed, thanks to the super nice and attentive staff. Not a luxury inn but that’s not what we wanted. Close to tow.n. The separate bedrooms enabled us to have a more peaceful stay with our college age daughter, who likes her privacy. We will definitely rebook here again.

Hotel's Favorite
Over the years, we have stayed in numerous hotels and rented homes on Lake Placid. We were greatly impressed with this wonderful lodge that operates smoothly, creating a comfortable welcoming environment with well-appointed rooms and everything you need on your trip. Plus, it is likely the only lodge/hotel with an actual view of Lake Placid. The Lodge is a center of calmness in what can be a frantic tourist town, while also an easy walk to the center of the action. In addition, it is also an affordable option in what can be a rather pricey resort destination. We are glad we stayed here and enjoyed our visit very much.

Quite the surprise here!!! The communal kitchen is absolutely fantastic to have access to!!! Completely furnished with everything you need to cook with and a commercial refrigerator. All the rooms have been revamped and the bed was very comfortable. Rooms are CLEAN and the bathroom had all new fixtures!! Very nice folks there. We will definitely stay here again!!

We stayed for two nights at the Town House Lodge in November 2022. This was our first stay there and our third in Lake Placid in the past few months. We will definitely go back there, and probably only there! in the future. The room was spacious (we had our teenager son with us) and very clean, the beds were comfortable with real pillows and we had a mini-kitchen with fridge, microwave, plates/cups/utensils and even a toaster! The Lodge also has a shared fully-equipped kitchen that we are planning to use next time. The managers (Fiorella and Jo) are doing a great job and are very friendly! They are also in the middle of renovating the rooms, so they will only get better. A expect a nice mix of rustic and modern. Can't wait to go back!

We are on a 1200 mile road trip in which we have already stayed in 4 hotels/B & Bs. This is the only one that has disappointed. I do not see how this 50’s style motel is ranked as #1 of 32 hotels in Lake Placid. It was clean and the bed was comfortable, but beyond that, it was just a mid-tier motel with parking in front of the room and virtually no amenities. The community breakfast room had nothing to make breakfast with… no bread or anything else to prepare breakfast with. We called and asked for more coffee last night (we only had two coffee pods) and was told it would be delivered. It was not. When I went to the community room for coffee, the pot was half full and cold. I had to search for coffee, filters, etc. to make a new pot. On a positive note, the location was good and the price was right. We went next door to the Purple Sage Bistro for dinner and it was excellent. But as far as the Towne House Lodge, it was at best just a room.…

I never got to stay here. I tested positive for Covid 4 days before my arrival. I called the only number available 15 times in 3 days, never connecting to a person - conveniently, the voicemail has not been set up. I feel sorry for anyone having an emergency and needing to contact someone. I sent a text to the only number provided, I sent 4 emails to the address provided on the website - one of them was a response to my reservation information, after I tried to contact them. I NEVER RECEIVED A REPLY. My goal was to speak with someone to see if I would be able to get a refund, a partial refund or even a voucher to stay another time. It wasn't my choice to get Covid and have to cancel, as it's not their fault, either. But good business practice or even decent business practice certainly warrants a response/some form of communication.…

Have been visiting Lake Placid for many years and this a gem of a place to stay! It's a small hill of a very short walk to/from the heart of town; but incredibly well worth it! They have everything the hotels that charge twice the amount in Lake Placid have (and they have the absolute most charming grounds). They have so many wonderful little touches. A gem of a visit :-)

I loved everything about this place, decor was tasteful and comfy, beds were great, the kitchenette had a microwave fridge, toaster, plates, cups and silverware and sink. They provided soap, shampoo and conditioner. I loved the communal kitchen. It was an easy walk to downtown. We will definitely return and couldn't have been happier. Thank you for a wonderful stay here!!!!

Excellent place to stay!!! We enjoyed 4 night in the 2 bedroom suite (room 39) which has a small sitting area with 2 chairs and a kitchenette. We also used the provided community kitchen which is well equipped. The location is a short 3 block walk to downtown (some hills, if that’s an issue). This was especially convenient as half of the main drag is under construction. Walked around Mirror Lake (lovely), took the gondola at the Olympic Ski Jumping Center (fall foliage was amazing), hiked up Jo Mountain (short but hard, boulders and roots), enjoyed some delicious meals at local restaurants. We were surprised it wasn’t more crowded even on weekdays as the fall colors came into full view while we were there. The owner, Lisa, was so friendly. Housekeeping staff very helpful. Family of 4, perfect family rooms/suites at reasonable prices. My daughters not only got their own beds, but their own room, which now that they're older they love. Great location too. Walk into town was less than 10 minutes. Comfortable beds, clean rooms. And love the coded door locks. So nice not worrying about who has a key or where us the key. We'll be back!
