There are no words to describe how awful our experience was but I’ll try … we rented a 2 floor 2-bedroom with our kids. Heat was broken (it was very cold). Had to call front desk a few times to get an answer (this was a consistent problem) and they would say someone would call back or come to fix but no one did. I was eventually able to reach someone by phone who reset it remotely but no change. Finally, he showed up, said this had been a consistent problem, reset it again. That night I literally did not sleep at all because the heat shot up to 98 degrees and no one would come to fix until next day. Just one example of MANY. Took an hour to get our appetizers at the overpriced restaurant. Took about as long to get food the next day at lunch. Staff was either new and untrained or nonexistent. S’mores was a joke. An hour in there was nothing left and no staff to refill ingredients. Pool was unstaffed, unclean. Hot tub broken. Ice cream parlor had one poor soul working it so took forever to get served. Other guests were complaining about arriving to rooms that had not been cleaned, etc etc. As we checked out we talked to the manager who was super testy and offered nothing to compensate for the miserable experience until my husband asked outright. He offered no refund but would send a voucher for 2 free weekend nights to be used this year. Never did. Spent the next 2 months trying to reach someone to redeem it. IF anyone answered, we would be told manager wasn’t available or would call us back. Never did. Between my husband and I we must have tried 8 times. At one point we reached someone who was filling in from one of their other hotels. We explained situation and she kindly wrote an email to the manager (who was of course not in that day) and copied him on the email. Still never got a response. Ultimately gave up. So in summary, we paid a ton of money for the worst experience we have ever had. …

Got here whilst travelling home,had not been to lake placid in years,greeted by staff outside asking what we would like, and explaining valet service and self partying,receptionist was bright bubbly,and explained the paper work envolved ( never went thru that but ok ) room not ready so we ventured into town to shave time before returning,on return ,greeted,do you need help,all good, same reception,girl even remembered our names,went to our room..WOW ..really nice,clean spacious,and rustic..the common areas were nice,the lobby was expansive,went to the dining area on second floor, the French onion soup was delicious,the Buffalo wings,good ( not overly cooked or dried out) the mussels were great, waitress was pleasant as was the restaurant mgr,.just an all around great experience…

We just returned from a 4 night stay for our 25th Anniversary. At check in, we were upgraded to an awesome 3 bedroom, 3 bath suite, very clean and comfortable. We had a good breakfast each day at the lodge. It’s included in your stay and the breakfast staff was awesome! We used the indoor/outdoor pool and hot tubs in a freezing snowstorm and loved it (You can get to the indoor pool thru a hallway in the basement so no need to freeze getting to and from the pools.) We had fantastic massages in the on-site spa on our last day. We had a 2+ day snowstorm during our stay, each day the vehicles in the parking lot were shoveled out and the car windows were brushed off, which was a nice touch. It was our first visit to Lake Placid. We will definitely be back and stay at the Whiteface Lodge again. …

A unique, family oriented facility with all the trappings on site — nightly movies, indoor/outdoor pool and hot tubs, firepits, ice skating, bowling, game room, workout facility, etc. we have stayed twice, and it is the best option in Lake Zplacid for families and groups

This is truly a great place to stay. It would be an excellent rating if the front desk knew what they were doing. We check in on Tiesday and staying until Friday. On Wednesday our keys don't work because the front desk screweed up. Now we have two holds of 500.00 ea on our credit card because of the lack of training on the front desk. As much as I love this place it's doubtful ill be back because of the front desk. Then right spot is Andre at the bar. A mixologist ahead of his time. He is personable and very inviting.

Just loved it. Great stay. Beautiful location, lots to do. Nice accommodations. Very friendly staff. Ice Skating and. sledding and s'mores. Hot tub, fun game room. Important to reserve bowling in advance. Bed pretty comfortable, could be a little softer. Very clean. We saw a magic shoe in the theatre that was very entertaining. Would definitely recommend. It is pricey, only downfall.

Beautiful property. We had a gorgeous suite with one and a half bathrooms and a private porch although it was a bit cold to take advantage of that. Enjoyed the outdoor hot tubs and the fires outside to make s’mores. Also enjoyed the game room and had a quick dessert at the ice cream parlor. Buffet breakfast was very good. Looking forward to visiting again.

Once again, the Whiteface Lodge was the perfect winter getaway for an anniversary celebration. We look forward to returning this summer with our daughter and her family to experience some of the outdoor activities.

We took advantage of the 4 nights for 3 on back to back weeks. The lodge was cozy at even the well below zero temperatures that we saw. The breakfast crew (Adman- hope I spelled it correctly and Carrol) were so warm and friendly that we truly looked forward to breakfast. Staff was always friendly and helpful. Shout out to all the valet crew as they were fast and friendly. Rooms were clean and well stocked. On our last day we were sad to leave. This was my Birthday/ Retirement trip but hope to be back for the snow next winter.

A truly beautiful 5 star resort hotel. Great food. Peak 47 had a fantastic breakfast buffet, the amount of food was really incredible, the service was wonderful, staff are so kind , hard working, so pleasant to deal with. The decor is so beautiful, it is lodge luxury at its best. Drinks at the bar, and dinner so well prepared and cooked with love. The serene and nature filled beautiful surroundings, pool and hot tubs and skating were excellent and so well maintained! IHot chocolate in the yurt post skating at night with music is so romantic, then sit in the cozy cabins with adirondack furniture with your loved ones and children... will definitely come back with our family this summer.
