We enjoyed our second stay at the Whiteface Lodge. So much to do in Lake Placid! The Lodge did an excellent job dealing with the COVID situation. We didn’t feel nervous at all. The staff is very friendly and the lodge was as cozy as last time we stayed. We booked through Last Hoorah Resort Destinations and Tim is always a.pleasure to work with. We have booked through Tim multiple times for different destinations. Extremely friendly, helpful and efficient! I would highly recommend and am excited to try out some of the other destinations he offers. We have been to the Whiteface with our kids, but this time it was just the two of us. It’s a great place for families and for a couples getaway.

My husband & I enjoyed a 5 night stay here. Loved our superior 1 bedroom king suite - it's big, comfy, had a full kitchen & washer/dryer, very comfortable king bed (really soft cool linens), great shower, gas fireplace & a very nice patio surrounded by beautiful flowers. We played tennis (the court needs resurfacing but was fine during a season of Covid), hiked, hot-tubbed, & enjoyed the nightly lighting of the outdoor campfires for complimentary s'mores toasting. My husband said the nearby golf was great. The indoor/outdoor pool always had plenty of available chairs & towels, tho the pool did get a bit crowded at times. The staff couldn't have been nicer. Covid protocols were clearly followed thruout the resort. The shuttle to the canoe club was an easy 2 minute ride (no wait). We ate at both restaurants - they had identical menus due to the pandemic. Loved the shrimp spinach dip & burgers but would have preferred a larger & more diverse menu. Tables indoors were very well spaced, waiters wore masks, & it felt well ventilated. (Food tip: Go to Smoke Signals in town for amazing barbq!) Breakfast (included) involved calling in your order - generally was a 5-10 minute wait to pick it up. (It was pick up due to Covid). We'd come back here in a heartbeat. It's simply beautiful. And as a bonus, there's an outdoor winter ice skating rink. (Also mini golf is basically down the road from the resort.) It was a very relaxing stay for us.

Me and my wife booked a last minute vacation to Lake Placid in August and were able to find accommodations at White Face Lodge. We checked in around 8:45 pm after a long drive and someone was right at the lobby desk to help us. We had a suite booked in the clubhouse (smaller detached building on property) The elevator required you to scan your room key to get to your room floor and for some reason the scanner wouldn’t work for our keys. Finally a housekeeper doing laundry found us struggling and was able to run back to the lobby to exchange our room keys. It still gave us trouble but she got us up to our room. The elevator was a problem the entire stay and we watched other struggle with it too. We learned from another employee that it was a new system. We let the front desk know multiple times but nothing seemed to ever be done about it. Needless to say we started taking the stairs to avoid the headache. The rooms were clean, spacious and well stocked with everything you would need. Continental breakfasts were takeout only due to the pandemic. You had to call and place your order and pick up when it was ready. The food was actually very good and had plenty of different options. The wait wasn’t very long either. It did seem a bit odd that they couldn’t have breakfast in the dining areas yet they still had lunch and dinner there. The hot tub was always filled with kids despite having a sign that said “adults only”. The s’mores kits that were provided every night were a nice treat but sometimes they ran out if you didn’t get it early enough. The “cigar & cognac” lean-to’s were awesome. I went there and called the number to have someone bring out a menu for service. They said someone would be right there to assist me. After 20 minutes of waiting I went to the front desk. I asked if they were still serving cigars due to the pandemic. The lady at the front desk then told me they didn’t offer cigars despite having a cigar menu on their website and a sign hanging in the lean-to offering “cigar service”. She must have been new because she came back after talking with someone and told me the bartender at the restaurant would help me. The cigars were up in the bar area and I was finally able to purchase one. The whole ordeal just made it not worth the time. Half of the activities in the spa were suspended due to COVID. It was overpriced considering you couldn’t utilize everything they usually have to offer. There are nicer options for the money in Lake Placid

My family and I were recently looking for a destination to get away for a few days. A friend recommended Lake Placid, and specifically Last Hoorah! Resort Destinations. He gave me Tim DiLeo’s contact information and I reached out to him. Tim could not have been easier to work with, he quickly responded to my inquiry and within days we were booked at the Whiteface Lodge in a beautiful 3 bedroom suite. My wife and kids can’t stop raving about how great the trip was! The lodge was amazing, the room was clean and the staff was fantastic. The pool/hot tub was great and the restaurant delicious. There were other added treats as well, such as a free s’mores kit each night. Not only was the resort and room amazing, there were so many activities to do that we need to go back! We will definitely be utilizing Last Hoorah! and Tim again!
