The rooms and all the facilities are clean. It's a good place to sleep before or after to go some hiking. We really feel like home here and it accepts pets (so becareful if you have allergies). I would definitely come back here.

Arrived at 4pm and unable to find anyone to check us in. After waiting quite a while we crossed paths with another guest who knew where the keys were and showed us where the rooms are. Place was totally dark and noone around could even find a light switch. The place overall felt dingy. Not sure if there is a... More

After being notified of this review recently by one of our wonderful guests, we felt compelled to respond. We are very sorry whenever any guest is disappointed with any part of their stay at TMax-n-Topo’s and we are always very willing to work with guests to improve their experience with us. However, on very rare occasions we do have guests... More

David and Terri are helpful, knowledgeable and generally fantastic people. Their hostel has a great vibe and all the amenities recreational travelers want. Clean, simple bunks, fairly priced. Big, well-equipped kitchen, inexpensive snacks and a common room with games, books, tv, etc. They can also do prearranged shuttles and are happy to answer questions about hikes, eateries, and other local... The rooms are well-priced for what you get. The hostel was clean and homey. There was a nice big common area with games, books, etc, and we loved having access to the kitchen. I wish I could have stayed longer, and will definitely consider coming back especially as a place to unwind after a few days of hiking.

Nothing negative to say! The caretakers (Dawn and Ray) were terrific and eager to help with their expansive knowledge of the area and the best hiking. Clean, good wifi and great to have a kitchen after a long day on the trails. Would definitely stay again!

I love this hostel. This place is a terrific place to stay while you’re doing all your outdoor activities in the high peaks. We stayed in the hostel for one night after a long day of hiking. We stayed in one of the bunk rooms in the lower level. It had 4 bunk beds and a single. Our bunk room... More

I went on a hiking trip with three friends and we stayed at Tmax and Topo's. It's really clean, there is comfortable furniture upstairs, and the beds were also very nice bunks. You get free use of the kitchen (with the expectation that you clean up after yourself) as well as a large assortment of games and books. The hosts... More

The Hostel is immaculate, no small feat when many of the guests are out hiking in the dirt and mud all day, and bring back souvenirs from the trails with them. The rooms and bunks are spacious and well lit, the shared kitchen is always clean, and the living area is comfortable. Don't let the inexpensive rates keep you away... More

LOVE this place! Feel totally at ease when you walk through the door-like staying at a friend's house. They have everything you could ever need, better than any hotel! Where else can you meet like-minded mountain-loving people, cook your own food or buy yummy stuff in case you forgot everything, play games, read books, have your own quiet time to... More

I usually avoid hostels in the US because they are usually terrible. But this place was perfect. The owner (I only met one of them) is super nice and has good info on the area. We stayed in one of the private rooms and it was great. Plenty of heat, hot water, and very clean. Cable too! Nice common area... More
