My wife, pup and I have stayed at the Cobble Mountain Lodge 3 times so far, with 2 more trips booked for the future. Our last stay was a total of 4 nights and made up half of our honeymoon. We have stayed in the 1 room attached cabin twice and an unattached apartment that sleeps 6 with a loft once. The small cabins are very cute and comfortable. They are perfect for short stays with a friend or partner. The apartment has a cool loft overlooking the kitchen/living space and a separate bedroom. Our favorite part inside the cabin is the gas fireplace! It added a very rustic and homey feeling while still being super easy to operate. Outside, we had a private yard with a fire pit, bbq and picnic table. The setup was awesome. The folks who work here are very friendly and approachable. They did a wonderful job helping us when we asked and provided us with the privacy we very much enjoy. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner of Cobble Mountain Lodge during 2 of our stays. He was very friendly and even played with our pup. It's obvious for him this is just not a business but also a passion. Looking forward to our next stay.…
Stayed in cabin #9,reserved for 2 nights, only stayed 1 night,I've stayed in other hotel's in placid, this was definitely the worst I've seen,..i can write a book, pics dont lie,..used up paper towel, flies, smelled dirty, used & dirty sponge,no sink, and they expected us to wash utensils in bathroom,i asked for a refund with no availability, ended up paying $400+ a night for this nasty unprofessional establishment, especially with covid19,why would u stay here.
Stayed in Cabin 18. Beautiful, clean, well stocked with everything you could possibly need and very comfortable. This unit had a private outside area with a fire pit and BBQ. The property also has a communal gas fire pit under a roofed patio for all to use, we did, and met some really great people and had a lot of fun and laughs. The staff were truly amazing and accommodating. Will definitely be back!
Went up to Lake Placid from Long Island to hike Mount Marcy. Stayed in Queen room (#6). Very comfortable, clean, cozy, and was the perfect place to come back to after a long hike. I got there much later than expected and the staff kindly left the instructions/key to my room on the front desk of the office, I was able to locate my room and got in no problem. The fire pits at night are such a nice touch. Close enough to all without being in the center of the crowd, perfect stay.
Clean and nicely decorated. The unit was nice with a nice kitchen area and the beds were comfortable. Close to town and hiking. You need a car for sure . The shower was a little to high pressured, but ok.... not good for small children. The staff was very nice and the fire rings and bbq grills were a nice touch. The fire place was a nice touch. The loft stairs were very steep and a little slippery even with the strips, not so good for small children. The loft was very nice and large ! We would still return and enjoy this place again. Great for a family.
