A BOUTIQUE INN & THE MOST HISTORIC BUILDING IN LAKE PLACID A historic gem nestled in the heart of the Adirondacks, The Lake Placid Stagecoach Inn offers a rustic and elegant getaway from everyday life. The Stagecoach Inn is the oldest building in Lake Placid built in 1833. Updated, the Inn has maintained its charm and comfort for the 21st-century traveler. Begin each morning with complimentary breakfast in the dining room, which includes homemade yogurt (a secret recipe!) and fresh pastries. Take your coffee to the Great Room, which boasts cathedral ceilings framed with yellow birch logs and warm up by the original fireplace. Hop in the car and drive ten minutes to the greatest winter sports destination in the northeast-- Whiteface Mountain. In the spring and summer, explore the trails through the picturesque Adirondacks. The Village of Lake Placid is minutes away and offers great restaurants, shopping, and nightlife.

Property's Favorite Review
This is the second year in a row we visited the Stagecoach Inn and our experience was just as magical as the first time in 2023. (I wrote a long review on Google last year). The highlight is how EVERYTHING is memorable: culinary options, the service and staff, and the ambience.
The dinner - creative, DELICIOUS, and beautifully plated. Everything from the garlic oil on the butternut squash bisque to the olives in the tapenade in the winter veggie pot pie to the perfectly cooked, spare rib "lollipop" with some kind of candied bacon topping (it was GOOD - not that candied bacon you can buy at fairs) ... I only wish this restaurant was close to where we live! The Szchechuan Creme Brulee was a lovely dessert. Huge kudos to the Chef. The other highlight... the cocktail menu! I'm a mezcal lover and there were no fewer than 3 different cocktails with mezcal in them...
That was only dinner. ..
The Innkeeper made sure we had a parking spot when we arrived after a long drive in snow showers. The cheese board we pre-ordered was delicious. The room was cozy, perfectly clean, a mix of rustic and modern. We warmed up with a hot bath.
Breakfast was also full of star-studded courses. We had, this time, an omlette roulade as the main course. My biggest delight? The butter that came with the scone was NOT ROCK SOLID HARD! Many times when butter comes out it's straight from the fidge. Not this one!
And of course, nearby, there is all an outdoor winter lover wants. We skied at the Nordic Center 6 minutes away and had a dreamy time. Though there are many lovely places in Lake Placid, we plan on returning.

What a cute inn! My husband and I visited in October 2020 for our first wedding anniversary and stayed in the Jenny suite, which has its own private entrance. Lacey and Rob were very respectful of COVID social distancing, were very responsive both in person and via text, and very warm and welcoming. When we checked in, our room needed a new toilet seat, Rob did not hesitate to fix it within a few hours no problem, Breakfast was delicious and well distanced, each room has a quaint table set up for distancing from other guests. Cocktails are readily available upon request. We did all takeout for lunch and dinner and the innkeepers were very timely in dropping off all kitchen necessities for us to enjoy our meal. The inn is well placed from downtown and all good trails in the area. Would visit again! Thanks for a wonderful stay :)

Nestled in the Adirondacks we found this beautiful bed and breakfast. From the moment you pull up you see the front porch & Adirondack chairs you feel welcomed.
The owners Mike + Stacia have transformed this historic 1880s home into a perfect B&B location to stay + play in Lake Placid. Inside, each room is warm and welcoming, you have all the rustic Adirondack feels and roaring fireplaces to sit and snuggle near.
Outdoors is a fun area to gather around the camp fire (no matter what season) and have a warm drink with friends. Trails for hiking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing link up right to their property which is amazing!
The lake placid stage coach Inn is ideal for small intimate weddings and elopements! I can not wait to come back !!!

This is a real gem of a hotel. Perched in the forest near Lake Placid, it is a onetime genuine stagecoach inn, and the oldest hotel in the area. From the wrap-around porches to the wood panelled lounges and cozy, elegant bedrooms, it's all very positive experience.
We had complimentary wine and cheese in the evening, and then enjoyed our own prepared dinner with a bottle of the Inn's reasonably priced Oregon Pinot Noir.
Breakfast is a delicious event - ours included goat cheese omlet and petit steak.
The team is very hospitable, from serving wake-up tea in our bedroom to sorting out an ice bag for a knee problem.
For a cozy, charming and efficient stay in Lake Placid, look no further!

The historic Stagecoach Inn was beautiful beyond words. The hosts welcome their guests by providing everything you'd want for a relaxing stay. Private luxury accomodations, complimentary happy hour, recommendations for dining/ activities and encouraging you to explore the property including their amazing wooded trails. Super accommodating and kind. I couldn't help but leave with a unique Inn blanket and mug to remind myself of the best weekend I've had in a long time! Thanks to Mike and Stacia!

The Stagecoach Inn was exactly what my fiancé and I were looking for when we planned a fall getaway from the city. We stayed for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
When we arrived there was a self check-in at the desk that was simple. We stayed in The Ausable Suite which was one of the smaller suites without a fireplace but had everything we needed. We upgraded to the 'Romance Package' which included flowers in the room, chocolates, a s'mores kit, bottle of wine, and upgraded cocktails and a cheese board for one happy hour. I was really happy we did this as they did not skimp on any of it and the food and drinks were wonderful.
Lacy and Rob were very sweet hosts and very helpful and accommodating. One evening at dinner we realized we hadn't told them that we wanted our bottle of wine for that night so I texted them to see if they could leave it out for us and while we were gone they decanted the bottle for us and left it in the dining room with two glasses so we could take it out to the fire. The breakfasts were also delicious, unique and very filling. We left with happy bellies each morning for our hikes.
The Inn itself is located about 1 mile from downtown which we drove to each night for dinner/drinks and took only 5 minutes. There is also a great little hike (Henry's woods) that starts right behind the Inn and gives good views of the lakes and mountains. The location was great and close to everything we wanted to do.
We loved staying here and are already recommending to all our friends! Hope to be back!

We were able to book a room last minute only due to a cancellation. My wife and I traveled to the area to celebrate our anniversary. We were lucky enough to time our trip during peak fall foliage.
The Inn provided a perfect homebase for which we could enjoy area attractions. Rob and Lacey could not have been more gracious hosts. The food and drinks served were some of the best I’ve ever had.
As a bonus, a relatively short and moderate hike out the backdoor provided some of the most beautiful views without having to deal with crowds.
Covid related concerns were alleviated quickly. The Inn utilized preventative strategies including masks and social distancing. Additionally, we were able to bring takeout from area restaurants back to the Inn and eat at a private dining area. This was an enormous benefit for us as we did not feel comfortable braving the dining atmosphere of Mirror Lake.
The Inn, and accompanying rooms, were decorated creatively and provided an extremely comfortable experience.
We highly recommend this bed-and-breakfast.

We originally had booked the Osgood suite. Unfortunately, due to a Hurricane Ian, we had to cancel our original dates and reschedule. The Osgood suite was not available on the new dates. We were given the Martin Lyons suite on the second floor because that’s all they had available. However it did not have a tub, did not have an electric fireplace, it had a single shower stall that you could just about move around in and I’m not exaggerating and a very huge tall step to step up into and step down from which can be very dangerous especially for elderly people and we are in our 70s. My husband did view the Osgood suite and said it was twice the size of the room that we got. It also had a tub and electric fireplace. And it was on the first floor. So we were disappointed that we had to take a room that really was not to our liking. we were charged the same rate as the Osgood suite but with a lot less room and amenities. The only thing that the Martin Lyons suite had was a king bed as opposed to a queen bed.
As for the dinners we did not eat our dinners there and we stayed a whole week because we were sent menus in advance on two occasions with items that we would not want to eat. Such things as pheasant, rabbit, duck, which we don’t eat and spices such as curry, cumin, chili pepper, because of a medical condition we both have we can’t eat those kind of spices. I prefer seafood when I go out and my husband prefers steak, prime rib Lamb chops or veal chop etc.
Also, I feel that the place needs a complete refurbishing both on the inside and the outside. Rugs and furniture need replacing, bathrooms need to be updated, mattresses need replacing etc. etc. I love antique furniture and certainly can appreciate it coming from Massachusetts but this furniture was not in great condition. For example the drawers were hard to open and shut on the chest of drawers.Chairs in the sitting area we’re not comfortable to sit on.
However I will say that the staff was outstanding in every which Way. Justin and Baker the innkeepers were very accommodating. They were very kind and housekeeping was done on a daily basis where beds were made and garbage was emptied etc. We did not have any elaborate breakfast that were mentioned online or on Facebook. Breakfast was either French toast with an apple compote or an omelette with spinach and cheese and some sausage or bacon. There was no eggs Benedict or Croque Madame that is listed on Facebook.
Justin made sure though that he had the juice that I normally drink every morning and for that I was very grateful. He also helped us carry the luggage upstairs which we were very appreciative of. He also made sure that he was up when we left very early to catch a flight and gave us to go cups for a coffee and juice which we were also very appreciative of. However I feel it has nothing to do with them as innkeepers but everything to do with the owners who have not put a lot of effort in keeping things up-to-date and refurbished.

We spent part of our honey moon staying at the Stagecoach Inn and couldn’t have had a better time. Rob & Lacy were extremely welcoming and hospitable and often added special touches to make our stay truly memorable. We absolutely loved the breakfasts each morning, sitting by the fire at night, and enjoying cocktails on the deck each evening. The rooms are beautiful, and the aesthetic is wonderfully charming and cozy. We hope to be back soon!

We are seasoned travelers to Lake Placid, having stayed in years past at the Whiteface Lodge, Lake Placid Lodge and Mirror Lake Inn. In our estimation, Lake Placid Stagecoach Inn is PHENOMENAL, due in large part to the inestimable innkeepers Lacy and Rob. They go above and BEYOND to ensure that each guest feels welcomed, comfortable and with every need met.
Rob is an expert chef who is thoughtful in planning out savory and sweet 3-course breakfasts. In the morning, Lacy offers yoga; she is a world-class instructor with a calming presence. In the evenings, the couple work hard to ensure that we had ample space for a game of cards or board games while they kept the bar hopping with drinks on request. Oh - and did I mention there's a happy hour AND the rooms are spotless and lovely?

Hi,
We walk to town daily. It's a 1.3 mile trip to Main Street, a 5 minute ride or a 20 minute, beautiful walk.
