Updated, the Inn has maintained its charm and comfort for the 21st-century traveler. Begin each morning with complimentary breakfast in the dining room, which includes homemade yogurt (a secret recipe!) and fresh pastries. Take your coffee to the Great Room, which boasts cathedral ceilings framed with yellow birch logs and warm up by the original fireplace. Hop in the car and drive ten minutes to the greatest winter sports destination in the northeast-- Whiteface Mountain. In the spring and summer, explore the trails through the picturesque Adirondacks. The Village of Lake Placid is minutes away and offers great restaurants, shopping, and nightlife.

Where to start. This place needs a major rehab, which after we had booked we'd seen a similar review, but when we went to cancel they refused a cancellation and instead tried to rebook another date. Lets start with the outside, this place is right on a major highway! Pulling out what tretcherous and hearing 18 wheelers (and watching them) during breakfast was a bit off putting. The interior is DARK, like your eyes need to adjust to it dark before you can safety walk around (and we are in our 30s). The bedroom was just that, a bed, a dresser and a high boy that had a fridge tossed in front of it (tight to say the least). Tiles in the bathroom were loose, toilet was loose off its base and the shower was a rebath unit. Breakfasts were not extravegant, which leads me to believe many of these reviews that are written are being paid for. Breakfast was omlets or french toast with a bowl of cut up fruit and we stayed several days with not much variety to chose from (very dissapointed here regarding that). The back of the house looked promising with a firepit and a little barcart. The barcart was not in use at all with anything set up for consumption and the firepit was great, but we had to buy a $16 package for a smores kit. At $400 plus a night I think a smores kit could be complimentary? We got started enjoying the firepit and soon after the neighbors to the back of the home (literally directly behind) had children and dogs running all over the place playing some kind of loud game....super romantic. This place tries too hard overall, trying to push happy hour (one complimentary beverage with a lack luster cheese board) then to be charged $15 for a glass of wine I could get in town for less. The fireplace downstairs was nice but it literally made the room so hot I had to take off a layer. So many nice places in town we saw to stay, as we walked into town (not a walk away at all, it was a good 30 minutes to get there), I would go somewhere else!

Beautiful and cozy babymoon. My husband and I were only there for a long weekend but we had such a nice time. Service was great, Donna and Greg were so hospitable, and the food was amazing! The town is really cute too, and we could do some hiking, and see all the historical Olympics spots. Would definitely recommend the Inn and the town!

We spent 2 nights in the Jenny Suite, a large bedroom on the first floor with its own entrance hall and small bathroom with Molton Brown toiletries. Although rustic, it was warm, comfortable and cosy and resembled a log cabin inside. The inn is over 200 years old and has lots of character and charm. As this is an old building the floor in the Jenny Suite is uneven, so this could be an issue for the less mobile. There’s a fire pit in the garden and this is a nice place to meet and chat with other guests. Breakfasts were delicious, 2 courses each morning with generous portions and well- presented food. The evening chef, William, is building a local reputation for good food/fine dining and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the Inn. Well-presented and delicious. We really enjoyed our stay here and will certainly return if back in Lake Placid.

We had such a nice weekend at the StageCoach Inn in Lake Placid. The interim innkeepers Justin and Baker were so lovely and provided everything we needed. We were a little worried about our suite “The Jenny” being right off of the reception and how it might get a little busy and noisy, but it was perfect. Once inside it was like we were in our own little secluded area of the inn. The room was so cozy and clean and very spacious. The breakfasts were all delicious and filling. More then enough to keep us fueled during our hikes and day trips until we stopped for a snack in the afternoon before dinner. Speaking of dinner if you are staying here you neeeeed to do the dinner reservation. We had dinner on our last night and honestly it was the best dinner we had during our 3 day weekend in lake placid. Hats off to the chef! On our last morning (Halloween) the innkeepers kept us entertained they dressed up and made us a Halloween themed breakfast. It was honestly a perfect end to the trip. Everyone was so welcoming and fun would recommend this Inn to everyone I know. Thank you Stagecoach inn! We will be back!

We originally had booked the Osgood suite. Unfortunately, due to a Hurricane Ian, we had to cancel our original dates and reschedule. The Osgood suite was not available on the new dates. We were given the Martin Lyons suite on the second floor because that’s all they had available. However it did not have a tub, did not have an electric fireplace, it had a single shower stall that you could just about move around in and I’m not exaggerating and a very huge tall step to step up into and step down from which can be very dangerous especially for elderly people and we are in our 70s. My husband did view the Osgood suite and said it was twice the size of the room that we got. It also had a tub and electric fireplace. And it was on the first floor. So we were disappointed that we had to take a room that really was not to our liking. we were charged the same rate as the Osgood suite but with a lot less room and amenities. The only thing that the Martin Lyons suite had was a king bed as opposed to a queen bed. As for the dinners we did not eat our dinners there and we stayed a whole week because we were sent menus in advance on two occasions with items that we would not want to eat. Such things as pheasant, rabbit, duck, which we don’t eat and spices such as curry, cumin, chili pepper, because of a medical condition we both have we can’t eat those kind of spices. I prefer seafood when I go out and my husband prefers steak, prime rib Lamb chops or veal chop etc. Also, I feel that the place needs a complete refurbishing both on the inside and the outside. Rugs and furniture need replacing, bathrooms need to be updated, mattresses need replacing etc. etc. I love antique furniture and certainly can appreciate it coming from Massachusetts but this furniture was not in great condition. For example the drawers were hard to open and shut on the chest of drawers.Chairs in the sitting area we’re not comfortable to sit on. However I will say that the staff was outstanding in every which Way. Justin and Baker the innkeepers were very accommodating. They were very kind and housekeeping was done on a daily basis where beds were made and garbage was emptied etc. We did not have any elaborate breakfast that were mentioned online or on Facebook. Breakfast was either French toast with an apple compote or an omelette with spinach and cheese and some sausage or bacon. There was no eggs Benedict or Croque Madame that is listed on Facebook. Justin made sure though that he had the juice that I normally drink every morning and for that I was very grateful. He also helped us carry the luggage upstairs which we were very appreciative of. He also made sure that he was up when we left very early to catch a flight and gave us to go cups for a coffee and juice which we were also very appreciative of. However I feel it has nothing to do with them as innkeepers but everything to do with the owners who have not put a lot of effort in keeping things up-to-date and refurbished.

Our 2 night stay at The Stagecoach Inn was unique, enjoyable, and a wonderful change from the standard hotel rooms we usually book. The hosts were friendly and attentive throughout our stay. We especially enjoyed the rustic Adirondack decor and cozy atmosphere of every room. Each day began with a complimentary, delicious, homemade breakfast. The Inn is within easy driving distance from downtown Lake Placid and area attractions. We hope to stay there again on our next fall excursion to this beautiful area.

My husband and I stayed at the Stagecoach Inn this summer for our honeymoon. We chose the location because it was close to hiking, shopping, and restaurants in the area. We also liked that parking was available, the entertaining areas seemed spacious, and we were close to two areas with things to do. We were blown away by the kindness and attention to detail that the staff showed us and we immediately felt at home! The inn itself is very charming and cozy and, despite being quite old, has modern upgrades and facilities that made staying there for 4 days very comfortable. We are very glad we chose to stay at the Stagecoach versus a corporate hotel and will always remember the team that took care of us for their friendliness and hospitality. A special thank you to guest innkeeper Cathy and Chef William for going above and beyond and taking our dietary restrictions into account when it came to meals! We will definitely be staying again and recommending the Inn to family and friends who want to visit the area.

We found an exceptional dining experience beyond our expectations in this relatively small (yet world famous) village in the middle of the Adirondacks. William, the chef, is health-conscious for his guests and selects only the best products and ingredients for his kitchen that are often locally sourced. His results are exceptional. The inn itself is quaint, clean, and comfortable with a friendly staff willing to make your stay as memorable as possible. They proudly let you know that the building itself is over 200 year old with only a handful of suites available. With that in mind, the occasional creaks in the floors or staircases as guest move about along with other aspects one could expect from anything 200 year old is what makes it so peaceful and charming.

Stagecoach Inn was a friendly, warm, welcoming and wonderful experience! I can't say enough! From the moment we walked in the door through saying 'see you next year'! Innkeepers Donna and Greg made sure to ask any questions, offer information and tips of the area, take great care of our needs and wants-we felt taken care of on a personal level. Record cold temps the weekend we visited-it was nice to come 'home' to many big, fluffy blankets scattered throughout the big house and the fireplace warm and cozy. Happy hour each evening was a nice touch. Breakfast was delicious & filling, as well as intimate-served right outside our bedroom door. Thank you for the true authentic ADK experience we were looking for - we are sharing it with all our friends!
