Which was 6 nights, my son and I. Our room was a typical B&B room, perhaps a little more Spartan than some I've stayed in over the years. My bed was quite comfortable, it was certainly very warm in a Lake Placid January. Breakfast was continental, self-serve, and one sits at a communal table, with seating for 6, to eat...

We only stayed for one night in December 2016 as we passed through Lake Placid. Average accommodation but very clean. Unfriendly staff! Felt very unwelcome.... strange considering they work in the hospitality business! We won't be returning.

Spruce Lodge has both apartments and bedrooms. We had the bedrooms. For one of the cheapest rates in Lake Placid, you get a small, clean, attractive room, no TV. Some of the rooms have bathrooms down the hall, but still private. Location is just outside of town, about a 20 minute walk or 2 minute drive. My main complaint is...

I would encourage people to book directly with carol for a better rate. Room was clean, the shower had lots of hot water and pressure, wifi was perfect. It was easy to find, close to everything, carol was very nice.

It was one of the cleanest places i have ever stayed in. We booked the cottage which has 2 bedrooms, one full bathroom, living room, big gourmet kitchen with a dining room for about 6 peoples, nice livingroom with a fireplace. Everything was so nice and clean, you have everything you want in the kitchen. We will definitelly go back...

This is the 2nd time that we've stayed at this place. We stayed in the apartments with the full kitchen and three bedrooms. The apartment was nicely decorated, felt like you were in the woods. I really love the view in the backyard and the pine tree smell. Cable was decent, up to 66 channels. The kitchen was clean and...

If you are looking for basic, clean accommodations at low price, this is your place. We stayed in the Apt which was convenient if you need a full kitchen. A very basic continental breakfast was included, but nothing special. The owner was matter of fact and to the point, but not overly friendly and welcoming. I've stayed in many other...

So we stayed at the spruce lodge 3/6/15 and was greeted by the rude owner (carol). We paid for our stay and was charged an extra $111 for a guest visiting to take us around. She not around during the night time when my friend goes back. We got surprised by the $111 charge at check out. You can hear...

I have stayed at Spruce Lodge in the B+B. It is like going back to my Grams house. The rooms are neat as a pin and clean, including private baths. The house has common areas to watch tv. They also have nice swings, chairs on the front porch, which is a great place to enjoy some wine in the evening....
