We go to Lake Placid 2 or 3 times a year, and we only stay here. I have never had a bad experience. There is a ping pong table, indoor pool, outdoor pool, free kayaks, free paddle boats, grills, fire pit, gazebo, chairs, docks. The owners are always on premises, and are so accommodating. It is a small place, but... More

Wildwood on the Lake is indeed "on the lake" and is situated just a short distance form downtown Lake Placid with its varied array of shops and an abundance of great places to eat. Lake Placid is itself is worth writing a 5 star review. But, on topic, this family motel is a large, reasonably priced, very clean, well located,... More

We stayed four nights, and will be returning next week. If you would like a vacation to feel like a haven from the cares of the world, this is the place for you. Tucked into a hill next to Paradox Bay, Wildwood offers these things: clean, restful, charming rooms with patios or balconies with mountain views; kayaks, canoes, paddle boards,... More

Booking and check in/out was a breeze. We did have an unpleasant experience with one staff member (everyone has a bad day, I guess), but everyone else was extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel has complimentary Wi-Fi in rooms (not that you'll need it with all the other amenities here), plenty of outdoor space, which is immaculately kept (gazebo, picnic tables,... More

Gone here for a couple years in a row and definitely plan on going back. Staff is great love the amenities. Indoor hot tub pool and saunas. Also u don't have to rent kayaks or paddle boards they are on the premises u just check them out. If u want a smaller quaint spot that's conveniently located near town this... More

Stayed here for 2 nights (our 2nd stay) and thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms are a little dated (bedspreads and color scheme dark but rooms and bathrooms are clean) - free use of canoes, paddle boards, kayaks and paddle boats - and gorgeous view of lake placid. Such a pretty setting. Sat at fire pit after dinner and on gazebo... More

The staff were nice, the view was beautiful, the room was clean, the bed was comfy. We stayed at 3 different hotels over 4 days in lake placid, this one was by far the best. The campfire with sticks ready to roast some marshmallows was a pretty cool touch.

First of all I am sorry that I did not write sooner. We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin last August. My twin 11 year old girls are still talking about how much they loved the week at the resort. Our cabin was a cabin. It wasn't all stainless steel and granite. If I'm in the mountains, I like to... More

We really enjoyed this place. Came up for a long weekend to ski. Sits along a bay on lake placid. Beautiful views. Nice clean rooms at a reasonable price. Will be back again when we can spend more time. The owners tell us that there are row boats and kayak's that they let guest use in the summer.

Thank you. We hope to see you in the warmer months. You can enjoy a glass of wine by the lake, next to the campfire. Boats are in the water towards the end of May to October. More

Literally. I am writing this review because it is totally mystifying to me that Wildwood has a 4.5 Trip Advisor rating. There's enough of the teacher in me to convert that 4.5 to an A-, and Wildwood does not deserve an A-. C/C-, yes. A-, no. After our stay at Wildwood, I read through the Trip Advisor reviews. I admit.... More

Thank you for writing your opinion of the Wildwood on the Lake, makes for interesting reading and discussion here at our home between my wife and I. Over the past few hours we have had the opportunity to speak of how the Wildwood has changed since the 1970’s to as it is today, February 18th, 2016. As TripAdvisor portrays, we... More
