We enjoyed the restaurant so much (reviewed separately) that we decided to try staying at the Inn, which is beautifully restored. The Cornucopia Suite was spacious and comfy with lots of old fashioned charm but also modern bath/shower/sink and toilet, plus a sitting room with cable tv and a closet with terrycloth robes. Owners Mary and John were gracious and... More

In a town full of overpriced rooms, this is not inexpensive, but one gets a well furnished room with a luxurious feel, a few yards north of Mirror Lake. Its a good base to explore the main street in Lake Placid with its myriad restaurants and stores. Our room was large, sunny with a comfortable king bed and luxurious towels... More

We stay at the Interlaken a couple of times annually, both as a base for ski trips and hiking expeditions. It's beyond words to say how it feels to come back here at the end of a log day on the slopes or in on the peaks, to have a shower, to relax at the bar, and to enjoy the... More

The Interlaken Inn is absolutely lovely! Each room is decorated differently and nicely appointed. Exceptionally comfortable bedding. Room was quiet and relaxing. The Inn's owners Mary and John are so warm and welcoming! Shopping along Main Street is in short walking distance. The Inn has a wonderful pub and dining room and the food is outstanding! Four of us stayed here over the August 1st weekend. This hotel just makes you feel so at home. The staff are very accommodating and you have the run of the building so to speak. What is really good about this place is the location as it is a short walk from the main drag where you do not want... More

We had such a lovely stay at the beautiful Interlaken and commend the owners, Mary and John, and their staff for their outstanding service, accommodations, and making us feel so at home the minute we walked through the door. We stayed in the beautifully decorated Red Toile room that Mary went out of her way to keep warm and toasty... More

We stayed at the Interlaken Inn for one night in October and it was wonderful. I surprised my girlfriend with a romantic night in Lake Placid and chose the Interlaken Inn because it seemed quaint and friendly. I couldn't have made a better choice. The staff was very nice our entire stay. The room was clean and comfortable with all... More

My husband and I have dined at the Interlaken before, so on our recent trip to Lake Placid we decided to stay in the guest rooms in addition to dining in the Pub. Upon arriving at the Inn, we checked into our room (Room 10) only to to find that the bathroom had not been properly cleaned, specifically the toilet.... More

Our stay at the Interlaken Inn was fabulous. The room we stayed in had a comfortable bed and sitting area and an attached room for our daughter. My Mom stayed in another room that had a lovely porch where we relaxed and shared some wine before dinner. We ate dinner in the pub. The food and service was excellent.

Fell asleep to the sound of loons on Lake Placid - Woke up to the aroma of fresh brewed coffee - enough said - we will return to this well appointed, quaint, cozy Inn to eat in the Award Winning restaurant and to sleep in a bed that has all of my favorite things (i.e., high thread count)
