This is our second time staying at High Peaks, first time in the lodge. The fireplace in the lobby was great to cozy up to with a cup of coffee after a walk through town. The room looked exactly like the pictures and for the most part was clean (there were crumbs on the floor by the couch). The staff were all very friendly and we paid a good price for the room. However, I assumed since we booked a signature room with a balcony that there would be some type of view. The balcony just looked out onto a roof. Overall it was a great value and we will be staying here again.

Stayed in hotel during Nov 2020, very disappointed with the housekeeping service, they only entered the room to replace towel and empty trash, no cleaning what so ever and beds were not made. At the time of Covid I would think such a service is not acceptable at all especially the price is close to $200 a night. Facilities were also disappointing. The indoor swimming pool was very creepy hidden in the corner of the hotel and not well maintained at all. During our stay, I have also notice my phone was hacked which using the hotel WiFi. The Pictures on the internet is certainly misleading, think twice before you book this hotel.

Dear O348OYjackiel, Thank you for sharing feedback from your recent visit. Unfortunately, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have to limit the amount of time our housekeepers spend in guest rooms during a visit. I am very concerned by your report that your phone was hacked during your stay. If you could contact me at 518-523-4411 I would like to discuss the details of the event with our IT team. Warm Regards, Melissa Snow Director of Guest Services

We spent 3 nights here several weeks ago we had an absolutely wonderful experience! The staff was super kind and helpful when we had to extend our stay for a night. Our room was on the 4th floor in the main resort, it was newly renovated and had an amazing view of Mirror Lake. Loved the multiple pools/hot tubs on the property, and we were even able to use the free kayaks on the beach. The location is excellent, you can walk right onto main street from the hotel. We did not feel unsafe at any point, I felt that the staff took appropriate COVID precautions. Definitely will stay here again.

Stayed at the High Peaks Resort for our family's special event in Lake Placid. This hotel was attractive and the rooms were large and appeared to be clean. Be aware that the walls are very thin and that we could hear every flush of the toilet from the rooms on either side of us. A young female Asian front desk staff member went above and beyond in her customer service. Other hotel staff members at the front desk and other areas however were rude. This greatly affected our overall feel of our stay, confidence in the cleanliness of this hotel, ability to dine in their Dancing Bears restaurant and apparently the experience of others. Upcharging our bill on departure , treating us with total disrespect and blaming the upcharge on a computer error while being condescending to guests is not acceptable. Our broken refrigerator, missing room items and concerns were not addressed. Apparently we were not the only disappointed guests as during our checkout, we were in line behind a gentleman who was on number 4 of his long list ofcomplaints that he was sharing with the front desk staff. We could not help but to notice their uncaring and rude demeanor to him as well. We left feeling concerned that this hotel is not what it seems; very pretty with no substance. There are many other hotel options in this area that would be a better value and would be appreciative and respectful of their guests.

I want to personally thank Ryan for his excellent help last night. We were guests at the mirror Lake Inn here in town, however the staff in reservations were not truthful with me when I made my reservation for a Lakeside Room. After going back-and-forth with them I checked out early and was going to go home. And that was when I met Ryan. He was very helpful and explained that they would be more than happy to accommodate my wife and I. He even went so far to let me see the Room before I committed. I decided that I was going to check in here instead of going home. We really needed this break as my brother had passed away earlier this week and we are going to have the services a couple of days after we return. Bravo to this resort for understanding that there in the hospitality business and for having staff that cares.
