Me and my girlfriend visited keetmanshoop last week.. Drive far for the day to enjoy a gr8 lunch ,but the service was realy bad. They just came to take the order and thats it. Never saw a waiter again. We were greeted friendly at the door though.. great food.

I wanted to visit the Fish river canyon, but all the lodges in that area were fully booked out, so I landed here, and then took the drive down (approx. 1.5 hours to the Hobas entry). This hotel caters mainly for locals and tradespersons, not necessarily for tourists, so it was quite a unique experience. My room was tiny, clean, with a quirky "sponge bob" synthentic blanket. The room has a glass sliding door leading to the central courtyard/parking, so there's not much privacy...The a-la-carte menu seems quite impressive (the restaurant is a sushi bar, a pizzeria, a seafood restaurant, has some Namibian staples and extensive meat choices etc.)... I was happy with my oryx steak (but not with the malva pudding, one of the worst I have ever tried). The communal breakfast room is chilly in the wintertime, due to issues with the glass sliding doors, but I guess the courtyard is used most of the year anyway. So, all in all if you need a stop over, why not?

We stopped for lunch. The waiter very young, but kind but his outfit very dirty. We set outside. All staff around us. Talking in front of us. Very unpleasant. One we finished our meals we received our bill. Well - without asking for it. He „thought“ we wanted to pay. Meanwhile his shift finished and all he wanted was a tipp. However we came back after years and found a dirty and dilapidated place. The food a disgrace. The toilets a disaster. Not able to close from inside. I talked to the manager. But she is apparently only a supervisor. Very unfriendly. Once I asked her if she is the manger she asked me what my problem is...! What kind of attitude is this? When I told her what my concerns are she told me she will take it up... I know what this means in Namibia. Not worth to go back!

We didn't book our last 2 nights of our Namibia trip (now I know I was silly) and this was the only place that could assist us that evening in Keetmamshoop. Reception lady was friendly and their burgers were good. I do feel the price they charge for the type of room if a bit steep Wasn't the worst but is also not 1 of the best thank you

What a welcoming experience this is. Always so welcoming. Staff are friendly and helpful. The food is super and the choices are big. The rooms are clean with a selection of either double or twin accommodation. The lodge is in the town centre.
