Great holiday food was plentiful and the beers were great staff can’t do enough for you located right on the beach the lads on the sun beds were there always smiling and laughing they would move your beds around with the same energy and laughter and joking about how tanned I was getting and beginning to look like them
We was in Gambia for two weeks but we was staying at a different hotel, for our friends birthday we decided to stay at a spa hotel for one night, We had used booking.com to book this hotel as it said you get an early check in upon arrival they said we couldn’t check in for another 4 hours but let us use the pool and bar area so that was fine, we had the huts on the beach which was amazing the hotel mad our friend a birthday cake for free as well with a basket of fruit for the room, this hotel was nicely decorated and pool, beach, food and staff was all very good too
The Gambian Experience courtesy of The Lambrada Hotel was one of the best holidays our party of 5 females have ever encountered. Although The hotel is in need of some serious TLC I hope that the new management will invest as it has huge potential being directly located on a wonderful sandy beach which stretches for miles and all rooms have sea views. We hope Per Kvist the General Manager will see money spent on updates will be a wise investment. He was there to be seen and focused on things running smoothly and had both a good rapport with clients and staff alike. The staff at The Lambrada were efficient and gave service with a smile. (Tipping goes a long way but they deserve it). James in the restaurant gave exceptional service and looked after us very well. He always went the extra mile. Agnes always greeted us with her lovely smile. There are plenty of beds on the beach and they will prepare them for you. Towels are usually changed of an evening and not in the morning. The trips we chose were some of the best I have ever been on and what a way to discover the real Gambia. We went on the Roots trip. Which was good if you know of Alex Haley and the story behind it. But by far our best trips were the 6 in 1 which we did as a group of 5 in a land rover with Yusufpha ( you really couldn’t have a better guide) and the Lazy day where we paid the extra ( not much more ) and hired a boat down the river. Absolutely idyllic and a perfect way to end the holiday. We were treated like royalty and a few bottles of fizz goes a long way not forgetting our coffee and brandy to welcome us aboard. I would also recommend the Spa a perfect place to chill out and one of the best massages we have ever had. My friend would like to mention Sandra in dispatches who gave her a massage but also rose to the challenge in washing and drying her hair. Evening entertainment al fresco was varied and highly entertaining. I would highly recommend The Gambia as a destination for a holiday and particularly the Lambrada Hotel.…
First holiday with saga and I was,nt dissoppointed and due to our rep Andy taking the time to show his guests local sights as a solo traveller I had plenty of company for the two weeks with a great bunch of people. The hotel itself is in a great location, there were a lot of complaints about the rubbish on the beach but they seem to have taken that on board and clean it daily. My room was kept clean and was very comfortable with a nice sea view. Good entertainment, brilliant friendly staff. Fully recommend a massage at the spa to get rid of all the aches and pains a big thank you to Amie. The food needs to be improved I,m sure the chefs do the best with what is supplied but it did get a bit repetitive I would have liked and expected a bit of seafood. I found the local drinks ok and never had to wait to long thanks to the hard working staff. Would certainly think about returning at some point.…
Our 4th visit to Gambia and the 2nd to this hotel, because we liked it so much last year. What hasn't changed is the kindness of the staff. They we really lovely again. But the hotel itself looks like the maintenance is going down and quickly too. The elevator was broken during our stay, and if for once it worked, you got stuck in it. Broken, stinky waterpipe next to our room. So sad, because this place still has potential. But someone just must take action. But for the staff: thanks again for your service and friendship.
The resort is perfect and I recommend it. Hotel staff is very kind and helpfull, rooms were always clean as well as the swiming pool and the beach, food was tastefull and variable, all servises in hotel are professional.
We were in a hotel for a week . It was nice hotel with friendly staff and after leaving some tips on bed also a very nice and clean rooms . Food in a restaurant was avarage .. nothing special but not bad - mostly european style . Bar next to pool need more staff !! there is no chance that 3-4 people can handle hotel full of europeans drinking in holiday style - guys on a bar tried hard but it just wasnt enought of them what meant 10 minute waiting for a drink. Oh and a drinks .. teach them how to make them PLEASE . sometimes they put there so much alcohol it wasnt drinkable , sometimes drinks were so soft it felt like non alcoholic drink. Fix shisha if possible - not necessary but would be nice . The best of all hotel was animation team - really nice and very helpfull people that can always make you smile - thats what is important on your holiday. Big thanks to all of them especially Dodou ( I hope i spelled his name correctly) .…
I enjoyed this hotel. It was a return work visit to The Gambia after many years absence. Labranda was recommended to us by our hosting agency. I stayed with 4 other colleagues on a work trip. The reception area of this hotel is very striking - with a backdrop vista to the beach from huge double height windows. This creates a beautiful welcoming mood as you enter the hotel- especially if you are. a beach lover. The reception greeting and booking into the hotel was pleasant and welcoming, everything sorted out quickly. The rooms we were allocated were to the right hand side of hotel quite close to where at the time building refurbishment works were ongoing but not disturbing - just not a great view from bedrooms, also room door had a gap at bottom which welcomed in midges and bugs - the hotel sorted that out by day two, so did not spoil my enjoyment too much. Now restaurant was busy and bustling, nice seating areas, the food was tasty on the whole with change of menu every day. I would say that catering manager needs to keep an eye on how rice is kept in the buffet area - keeping Lukewarm rice is not good - bacteria creating - rice should be served hot or be a salad rice, not rice that was warm at some point and left out which people are still eating from. This is a recipe for upset tummies. I did try and tell the serving staff, but they did not seem to understand the point I was making. Bar staff, downstairs by pool area, very friendly and up for engagement with the guests. …
After enjoying 12 wonderful days of our 14 day holiday ,I sadly had a fall & was addmitted to hospital. The hospital was very basic but i got the medication & tests nessasery. There was nothing provided but a bed. No food or even water. The hotel staff were wonderful. They gave my husband food & juice to bring to me , & even made me a creme brulae especially As I was having dificulty getting food down. When i returned to the hotel, the manager made sure we still had our room until the insurance could organize a flight home once i was fit to travel. I can not praise all the staff enough from the gardener bringing me fresh coconuts to our taxi driver who took the trouble to come & visit me in hospital. The security guards had been so helpfut after the fall carrying me to my room & again helping in the middle of the night when things got bad. If a member of staff saw my husband pushing me in the wheelchair they immediatly came & helped him. All the staff in the dinning room would help me all they could. Nothing was ever too much trouble, & always done with a smile. It was a shame the accident happened, but it could not have been a better place . The manager was so helpful getting all the nessasery paperwork sorted out before we could travel home. Thank you to all at Coral Beach Resort.…
Overall the hotel was amazing with a stunning beach front location. Tucked away from all the hustle and bustle yet reasonably price fixed taxi prices to tourist attractions. There is a few minor negatives. We arrived at 4.30pm and had to wait almost an hour for our room, we went and had a drink at the bar but not ideal wearing jeans and trainers in the Gambian heat. The male waiters particularly in the evening tended to serve single elderly ladies first sometimes leaving you for ten minutes with no drinks. Those are the only two negatives. The remainder was all positive, good food but repetitive typical all inclusive. Staff brilliant except as mentioned previously. Agnes the waitress forever happy, Modu the waiter always welcoming and the customer service lady always happy for a chat. The pasta lady always happy although she's always next to the heat of the stove. Rooms good standard typical hotel rooms. Bar's good coffee and drinks. Beach is lovely patrolled by security so no hastle. Night time shows very African lots of drumming and dancing. I didn't get any mosquito bites there didn't seem many about but my husband got quite a few. Monkeys are in the grounds and do go close to the rooms. We were warned of snakes but didn't see any. I would go back to this hotel if I wanted the Gambia. One tip if you want to go out and about ask taxi man he will show you the price on the board and how long your journey will take. Don't be tempted to book to go out with hotel staff the taxi drivers don't just leave you they will come with you and show you around Banjul, Monkey Park really anywhere and all they ask for is a small tip.…
