I really liked this hotel for the first couple of days. Most of the staff are really friendly, the pools are clean although they are a bit cold. There are three pools one at the front of the hotel and two at the back which included a kids pool. Staff by the pools are really accommodating and will get you a sun lounger as soon as you arrive. Staff also serve you by the pool any food or drink you like for a price of course, but it's nice to not have to get up while your relaxing. The hotel is very busy and has some great entertainment at night. The food in the hotel is of a large variety, well cooked and tasty. Breakfast is standard continental, which is fine, but beware any drink from outside are not allowed to be consumed anywhere apart from your room, even if the are brought from the hotel shop. This rule is silly and that's the reason why I say most of the staff are nice as the members if staff tou informed me of this (bar manager) was incredibly rude to me when informing me, we actually had a little argument, and then after serving me a drink when I went back to my room, I got really sick. I'm probably being paranoid, but you never know. Anyway apart from that I had lots of fun here, the hotel is really child friendly and the monkey are a must see. They come up to the hotel each day to be fed by tourist, they're a little troublesome, but it's a great experience to be so close to them. Not sure I'd visit again, as the drink rule is just a plou to get you to spend more money. But I'd definitely visit gambia again. Also there are lots of shops and restaurants by the hotel, so you'll never go without the essentials if you forget to bring them.

Don’t be tempted by a deal from your rep and the pressure to book due to limited places, we were and lost a day of our holiday on this very poor excursion. The trip was split over 3 vehicles but with only 1 English speaking guide, who joked at the start (9.30) to take a comfort break as it would be 5 hours before the next opportunity. Later we found that it wasn’t a joke when we made the only break at 3pm in a remote village where there was only one toilet. At 75 euros each, which doesn’t include any food this is a ‘rip off’. The highlights were a small man made waterfall, visiting a house full of old skeletons and a 360degree view from the highest point of the island (hills on 3 sides and 1 coast view) Search around and you’ll find local operators charging less than 60 euros for a similar excursion and includes food and drink.

If anyone had any doubts or fears about visiting The Gambia and Banjul believe me you feel more intimidated by walking the streets of London Birmingham or Manchester. Senegambia Beach Hotel is fine we stayed in the newer blocks which had everything you require for B&B, can’t vouch for older blocks. Facilities are good Pool areas nice but you do have to slip the pool attendants a few notes to guarantee a decent bed/area Beach area fantastic Weather fantastic You walk out of the hotel and your right in the town Loads of places to eat & drink Entertainment ok Best entertainment was people watching especially the Single English men & women arm and arm with the Banjul locals You get a few beggars but no more than UK Local Beer good and cheap Wild life unreal monkeys reptiles & exotic birds everywhere Great experience
