We love ❤️ staying at Marine Village, this will be our third year there and would never think of booking anywhere else! Staff is great rooms are really nice grounds are beautiful and you feel like your away! We went from 4 night to 5 and 2022 we booked for the entire week! Love love love this place! Never disappoints 💕
My family and I stayed at the Marine Village Resort for a couple of nights in August. It was ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!! First, the smell of mildew hit you the moment you entered the room. The carpet in the doorway was filthy, and looked as if it had not been cleaned in years (we kept our shoes on), the curtains were dirty and sticky at the bottom as they hung over the heating and air conditioning unit, the shower dripped water, and the sink did not have a stopper. We had to go to another facility to shower. And if that wasn't enough, there was a fly in the room, and we couldn't get it out (no sleep for two nights)! We called the front desk, but no answer. We've travelled a bit, but have never experienced such horrific conditions at hotel any hotel that we've stayed at. I would expect more from an establishment that considers itself to be a "Resort". Must do better.…
If you're looking to stay somewhere close to the action, this is the place. Right on Route 9, all the village is within walking distance. Restaurants, shops, coffee houses are all available without the bother of finding (or paying for!) parking. Shepard Park, with very frequent live music is just on the next block. The resort itself is rather dated, in a kitschy way. Our room had been renovated, but they neglected to put any shelving or towel racks in the bathroom. Not even a soap dish! It had a wall-mountable hair dryer, but that was in the closet and was clunky to use. There was no dresser. At all. The only drawers for clothes were the bedside table drawers, so our underwear had to share space with the Gideon Bible. The closet was very small and only half sized, so if I'd had a dress hanging in it, it would have been bunched up. The fridge and coffee maker were good. There are charcoal barbecues available for use, but bring all your own accessories and fuel. There is a Price Chopper within walking distance, but it is very small and has limited groceries. The Minne-Ha-Ha paddle steamer passes by six times a day, very close to the shore. Just as they reach the resort area, they play the steam calliope on their tour, which is charming. There were tons of families with small children, and they have a super playground area. I don't think there was ever a time when there weren't kids playing and having fun. Because it is so family-friendly, if you're looking for quiet or romance in the public areas, you might be disappointed. The beach and pool were fantastic. Very clean and lots of chairs and umbrellas. There are firepits and organised activities. They do not have a policy asking people to bring in their towels, so even if you get out there early, you find towels and shoes "saving" the beach chairs. Rude. The pier jutting out into the lake offers superb views and a front-row seat for the Thursday night fireworks display, with was absolutely outstanding and one of the best shows I've seen outside of D.C.'s Fourth of July display. There are kayaks and stand-up paddleboards available for rental at about $20 an hour. All in all, a mixed bag, but the location makes it worth the inconveniences.…
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Marine Village Resort in the beginning of June. The rooms were immaculate and the staff was super friendly. The grounds were very comfortable and it was in walking distance of the Lake George village area. We were very happy that we chose the Marine Village Resort and we are planning on returning next year.
We spent 4 days and 3 nights at Marine Village Resort with our 2 sons, daughters-in-laws, and 4 grandchildren. We had an extraordinarily good time! The weather was a little cool, but it didn't stop the grands from going in the pool and playing in the sand lakeside. The rooms and the grounds were clear. The proximity to downtown Lake George is certainly a draw! There was an issue with the shower in two of the rooms. The management was attentive to the issues when they were made known to them. There are many attractions in the vicinity for kids of all ages. Marine Village Resort exceeded our expectations and we hope to return again and again!
