From what I could see, this is the only hotel in Lake George with a beach. It is walking distance from everything. Please note if you are handicapped, you will probably have to drive as the rooms of the hotel are in low area by the water and the driveway is quite steep. Anyway, being within walking distance of everything saves you a lot of money in parking. All of the street parking and the lots have metered parking. Make sure that you look for the pay box and pay your fee so that you are not ticketed! We were lucky, we had a room at the end right near the water. I made my reservation early directly with the hotel, which I believe helped me get a better room location. I loved being right near the water. I would have given the hotel 4.5 stars as there were a couple of things that I irritated me. One being, not a lot of plugs. Then there was only one mirror, which was in the bathroom. These things just made it hard to get ready in the morning. If you want fancy place, this is not for you. If you want a nice, clean, family place next to the water, this is definitely the place for you!

Thank you for taking the time to review Marine Village. I agree with all of your comments. In some cases, power is a limitation, but I do agree we can try and add more outlets. And always call the hotel if you want a room assignment. We certainly take these recommendations seriously and will do our best to tackle a few over this off season. Even with some on improvements needed, I appreciate you rounding to a 5!

Many people had to modify their traveling habits during pandemic, so had we. Instead of our usual European or Caribbean voyages we decided to explore domestic travel and never regret it. Lake George is a beautiful picture town, full with nice cozy restaurants, little stores and antique cars show. Marine Village Resort didn’t disappoint either. It has best location on the lake with sizable beach and heated pool. View is just beautiful. Because of COVID-19, hotel suspended daily housekeeping, but if you need an extra towels or other stuff, you can call office and they will deliver. Room/bathroom was pretty clean but had a musty smell like many hotels by the water. Beds are not very comfortable but bearable. As mentioned before, location on the central street and access to lake makes this hotel to stand out.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We do replace beds every year so hopefully we will catch your room this winter. That issue is always worth calling the office about as we also keeps spares just for exchanging. We consider comfortable beds very important. I love that you had a chance in 2020 to see our town. Come see us again.

We stayed at the Marine Village resort last week. After researching numerous area resorts we chose this one based on location. All in all we had a great time. Upon check in we were a little disappointed because when we made the reservation we requested a connecting room which they said wasn't an issue. We even had the room numbers in our email. At check in they didn't not give us the connecting rooms. They said they don't guarantee. room numbers. Then why give us the room number? We made the best of it. Just not ideal for our situation. The restaurant wasn't open but this wasn't an issue as there are numerous places to eat in walking distance. We also made use of the BBQ grills on property. There is a heated pool which the kids used once. They loved swimming in the lake. The water is very clean and the they have a large beach front. I would recommend water shoes if you have sensitive feet. There are a lot of rocks along the shore. Not a major issue though. My one issue is with beach chairs. There are many large groups that travel together. Every morning this one group reserved a good percentage of the chairs right by the water and barely used them. Very inconsiderate. The resort should consider a policy. We happen to bring our own chairs which I was on the fence about doing. I would def bring your own to ensure you have a place to sit. They have two fire pits which I thought was for the entire resort. Again the large groups were taking them over. One night we were able to sit around the fire after speaking to a worker. He sells the wood and we bought 3 packs. The rooms are ok. Nothing special. I did like that we had two king size beds. The rooms were very clean. No house keeping. You had to leave the dirty towels and trash outside the room for pick up and you could request clean towels. I think this is fairly common right now. Not an issue. Bring your own beach towels. This place is a great family resort. A lot of children running around. Not once did I hear my kids complain about being bored and the best part they weren't on their phones.

Thank you for sharing your experience. First, I apologize for our error in not making sure we locked in adjoining rooms for you. We normally do not say we will try but cannot guarantee. I certainly agree if we told you we could guarantee, we should have done so. It was a major issue with the requirement to limit the number of beach chairs this year. We do have many more and should have made some available on limited request basis. I think we have the solution for the for next year even if we have a mandated maximum permitted again. AndI also agree that it's a real plus that so many families were able to safely vacation and enjoy time together and rarely on phones and computers. We certainly appreciate your feedback and will do our best to make many of the suggestions you mention. Come see us again!

We just returned from a 5 day stay at the Marine Village Resort. While the location can’t be beat and the lakefront beach was one of the best in the area, the room definitely needed improvement. We stayed on the lower level with a two queen bed room. I imagine some of the other rooms have already been updated based on the other reviews, but ours was not. Some issues we had were the lock on the door was broken, the toilet felt it was going to fall over every time you sat on it, the two tier metal towel rack literally fell off the wall with nothing additional hanging from it and the most concerning thing was the water in the shower would get scolding hot unexpectedly. This posed a challenge with two young children that I was afraid would get burned while showering so I had to stand with my hand under the water while they were in there. The room itself was clean but needed a new paint job and just new fixtures. Looked like it hadn’t been updated in a really long time. For the cost i feel it could have been better. The pros were the kayaks were so fun and readily available, the free food events were great. We enjoyed complimentary root beer floats and tacos. The pool was nice and comfortable temp. Wish there were a few more umbrellas for those that like shade. The lake was absolutely beautiful and very clean. The kids loved the dock and just being able to swim in the shallow water. Lounge chairs were hard to get if you didn’t leave a towel on them. I was able to finally get one the last day we were there. Wish there was someone there monitoring the usage a little better because some were left all day without being used so people could have it later in the day which seemed unfair. Overall we had a nice stay and in comparison to some of the other resorts in the area this one seemed a bit superior. If they update the rooms I’ll be back again.

Thank you for taking the time to write this extensive review. During the off season we do renovate about 15 rooms each year. With the limited time available this past Spring, we chose to use all resources to work extending the beach and adding more boating and fire pits. And we still did renovate 15 rooms as planned. Renovation in the poolside building will be planned. for this off season, I agree we need more resources at the beach and we will plan for that next summer. Please do come back.

This was our first time with the kids (14 and 12) to Lake George and we ALL LOVED it. The Marine Village Resort is perfectly located. We parked our car when we arrived on Sunday and we didn't move our car again until we left to go home on Tuesday. We walked to town, restaurants, ferry, parasailing, ice cream, etc. The amenties at the Marine Village Resort were great, plenty of kayaks and paddle boards and a good amount of lounge chairs. Here's a tip get up in the morning and put your towel on the chairs you want to use for the day. Everyone respects the towel on chairs means it's reserved. Another tip when reserving a room do NOT get the bottom floor, because you don't have control over the people and their kids who may have the room above you. There are PLENTY of rooms that are just single level but if you can't get a ground level then request a second level. The rooms were very clean and bring extra pool and beach towels they don't supply any towels. We were very happy with our stay and we would come back and stay again.

Thank you very much!. It makes my day to hear your 1st visit to Lake George was successful and your family had a great few days at Marine Village. It's great that you enjoyed the activities on the lake. This year we worked hard to allow for a lot of lake time by expanding the beach. Come see us again.
